It was almost four o’clock in the afternoon when Su Mingan reached the kindergarten and saw Grandma Tao standing with several old ladies and grandfathers.

Su Mingan waved to Grandma Tao and joined the baby pick-up team.

Grandma Tao: “Today is the first day. It’s fine if you find time to pick up Miaomiao. Focus on work from tomorrow. Don’t you feel relieved to leave Miaomiao to me?”

After two years of trusteeship, they had no concerns about that arrangement.

“Okay, we won’t be polite to you anymore. Anyway, you are Miaomiao’s grandmother. In the future, Miaomiao will earn money from work, and will honor you.”

“Miaomiao just started kindergarten, you’re thinking of so far.”

The small class came out first, and the teachers of each class led a “little tail”. Su Mingan was tall, and saw Su Miaomiao and Xie Jingyuan walking at the tail of the second class.

There were more than twenty students in a class, Xie Jingyuan was not the tallest, but he was the most sensible. The teacher arranged for him to walk behind, so that the children in the middle would not run around and fall behind.

The students held hands according to the teacher’s request, and Su Miaomiao and Xie Jingyuan also walked out holding hands.

As soon as she left the kindergarten’s gate, Su Miaomiao threw away Xie Jingyuan’s hand, smiled and threw herself into her father’s arms.

Every parent was talking to their children, and the school gate was buzzing. Su Mingan hugged his daughter in one hand, and Xie Jingyuan, who was too late to object, in the other hand. Su Mingan put Xie Jingyuan down and asked the two children about their day.

“Did Miaomiao fight with anyone?”

“No, I won’t bully people.”

While Su Miaomiao blurted out her denial, she glanced at Xie Jingyuan. She wasn’t a bad cat who liked to bully people casually.

What Su Mingan was worried about was his daughter being bullied by others.

Su Miaomiao shook her head. Those children seemed to be afraid of her. A girl was going to cry, so she glared at her. The child held back her tears, walked away from her and continued to cry.

Grandma Tao asked Xie Jingyuan, “Do you like kindergarten?”

Xie Jingyuan nodded expressionlessly.

Su Miaomiao: “Our teacher liked my brother very much, and asked him to be the class monitor to manage discipline in the class.”

Su Mingan exaggeratedly said, “Wow, Jing Yuan is so powerful!”

Xie Jingyuan: …

He didn’t want to be the class monitor, but he didn’t know why many children liked to ask him for help. Faced with innocent children, Xie Jingyuan didn’t mind helping them put on their shoes or wash their hands, but the teacher misunderstood him as “willing to help others” and let him be the monitor.

Keeping an eye on Su Miaomiao was already tiring enough, he would be exhausted if he was asked to restrain more than twenty people.

Su Mingan dropped them to the community. He had to meet a client and left in a hurry.

Grandma Tao held Su Miaomiao with one hand and Xie Jingyuan with the other, and walked back to 302.

The previous month, she let Aunt Song go and looked after them herself.

The children were very good. Xie Jingyuan could tell stories to Su Miaomiao. Grandma Tao only needed to take care of three meals a day and wash clothes, which was about the same level of labor as her living alone.

“Jing Yuan, take Miaomiao to wash her hands, I’ll get your clothes.”

Xie Jingyuan brought Su Miaomiao to the bathroom in the living room.

He stepped on the small stool, first wet a light yellow towel and handed it to Su Miaomiao.

Her mom and dad were away, and Grandma Tao was tired of taking care of them. It was basically useless to act cute with Xie Jingyuan. Su Miaomiao silently took the towel and wiped her face and hands.

Xie Jingyuan washed it once again, and asked her to wipe her face and hands.

After Su Miaomiao finished wiping, she threw the towel at him and went to find Grandma Tao by herself.

The children stayed in the kindergarten for a day, and their clothes were more or less dirty. Grandma Tao closed the door and helped Su Miaomiao change into clean clothes.

Xie Jingyuan no longer needed her help, so he went back to the room to change.

Grandma Tao was going to make dinner, so she asked Xie Jingyuan to play with Su Miaomiao.

When he came to the living room, he saw Su Miaomiao lying on the carpet. She raised her sleepy eyelids to look at him, and closed them again.

The nap time in the kindergarten was only two hours, but Su Miaomiao usually slept for about three hours at home.

Cats liked to sleep, and one day was not enough to get her used to a new nap time.

Xie Jingyuan didn’t disturb her, and sat beside her, reading a book by himself.

The next day, Grandma Tao sent the children to the kindergarten alone.

“Bye, grandma!” Su Miaomiao sweetly waved to Grandma Tao, and followed Xie Jingyuan inside.

Other parents were still trying to coax their children to go in obediently. Seeing that scene, some people envied Grandma Tao too much.

“Why are your children so obedient?! How do you teach them?”

Grandma Tao smiled modestly, “No, it’s all natural. The two of them have been good since they were small.”

Other parents:  …

Su Miaomiao didn’t know the situation at the gate, followed Xie Jingyuan to the classroom, took off the small school bag, and hung it on a row of wooden hooks on the wall.

There were already six or seven school bags hanging on the wooden hook. Su Miaomiao sniffed and smelled a very tempting fragrance.

Seeing her staring at a school bag, Xie Jingyuan asked, “What’s wrong?”

Su Miaomiao: “It’s nothing.”

She ran briskly to her seat.
