Reborn Lady - Chapter 78
Wei Luo walked to the study and pushed the door open.
Yin Hui, who sat at the desk by the window, raised her head upon hearing the sound, exchanged a glance with him, then lowered her head and continued writing.
Besides the pen and paper, there was also an old ancient book with dark yellow paper in front of her. Wei Luo stood beside her and looked at it. It was an isolated book on military affairs that he had read in the Yin family’s library.
“Why did you bring it back?” Wei Luo asked.
Yin Hui didn’t even raise her head when she said, “I like it.” There seemed to be nothing wrong with her words. She was a girl from the Yin family, and she was loved by the old man, so it was nothing to take some books.
But Wei Luo felt that her attitude was a little strange.
There was another chair opposite the desk. Wei Luo sat in it, and looked at her again, with a face hanging down, as if no one was around.
Wei Luo glanced at the old lonely copy again and said, “Why are you copying it?”
Yin Hui wrote the words seriously and said the same sentence, “I like it.”
Her voice was soft, as if she was only answering questions, with no emotion.
But when had Wei Luo been treated like that by her? Even if she had changed her temper in the past few months, when they were alone, she dared not leave him alone and ignore him.
Reminiscent of the empty inner room, and him taking off his clothes, Wei Luo frowned and said, “Are you angry with me?”
Yin Hui finally glanced at him again. Her beautiful eyes were clear, facing him, as if waiting for him to continue.
Wei Luo didn’t understand what she meant, and didn’t want to guess, he said, “Speak up if you have something to say.”
Yin Hui didn’t say anything and continued to write.
Wei Luo got up and as he left, he glanced out of the corner of his eye when he stepped out of the study, only to find that she was still sitting there upright.
In the front yard, An Shun’er was also going to lie down and take a nap. It was the third master’s vacation, so he thought that he would stay in the backyard that night.
Just as he found the most comfortable napping position, he heard familiar footsteps outside.
An Shun’er jumped up, trotted a few steps out the door, tilted his head and saw that it was the third master, the sullen third master.
An Shun’er’s heart thumped. Did the third master leave because something went wrong?
“Prepare tea,” Wei Luo said as he passed him and went inside.
An Shun’er went to make the third master’s favorite tea.
It was just that when he brought the tea to the third master, he refused to take it. An Shun’er raised his eyes boldly, and saw him looking out of the window with a cold face, as he wondered what the man was thinking.
An Shun’er didn’t dare to remind him, but held the tea in a respectful manner.
When his arms began to tremble, Wei Luo finally took the tea, took a sip absently and put it aside, then looked at An Shun’er and asked, “How did Madam seem when she returned home?”
Was she wronged, so she ran back and vented her anger on him?
An Shun’er remembered very clearly what happened not long ago.
“Madam was very happy.” Seeing him, she even smiled at him.
Wei Luo’s face became even more serious. Since she was happy, why did she get mad at him?
An Shun’er thought about the question, hesitated for a moment, then added in a low voice, “When I saluted madam, she was indeed smiling. Didn’t I tell you that madam is back? Madam saw you, and stood there waiting for you for a while. But when Madam left, she didn’t look so happy.”
Did Madam get angry with the third master because of it?
An Shun’er was sweating for her.
Wei Luo was startled instead.
He was reading a book at that time, guessing that she had to clean up as she just came back, he didn’t rush there. He didn’t know that she was waiting for him outside.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Wei Luo looked at An Shun’er.
An Shun’er thought he would come out too, so he kept staring at the door. When he realized that he would not come out, the third madam also got angry.
With that thought in his head, An Shun’er plopped down on his knees, and sensibly took the blame directly on himself, without any excuse, “It’s all my fault for not doing my job well, you should punish me.”
“Your salary will be deducted for this month.”
An Shun’er kowtowed and said, “Thank you, Lord, for your forgiveness.”
After he was done with that, Wei Luo thought of the woman in the study who was silently angry. He had seen her cautious, respectful, flattering or gentle side, but it was the first time he had seen her put a cold face openly.
“Master, why don’t I explain to Madam?” An Shun’er asked cautiously.
Wei Luo: “Go and get the books on the table in the study.”
Yin Hui actually didn’t care much about the matter.
Wasn’t Wei Luo just cold, she was used to it, and it was not worth getting angry about. But she didn’t want to be the submissive woman who could come and go as he pleased. So she went to the study and asked the maids to put down the curtain.
She also knew Wei Luo’s behavior too well. He believed that she would wait obediently on the bed, and he would definitely not ask the maids if she was there. Yin Hui was about to laugh thinking of his astonished expression.
The door was pushed open again, and Yin Hui raised her head in surprise, with a schadenfreude smile remaining at the corner of her mouth.
Wei Luo came in with a book.
On being surprised, Yin Hui continued to ignore him.
Wei Luo closed the door and sat directly opposite her to read a book, as if he didn’t mind his wife’s ignorance.
