Yin Hui flattened the creases of the cuffs for her grandfather and said in a low voice, “Do you think I’m cold-blooded and don’t want to help my sister? It’s true that I have to be careful in my life in the palace. How dare I get involved in official affairs? The third master treats me coldly. If my aunt and the others bother him, I don’t even know what he would think of me.” 

Yin Yong patted his little granddaughter’s hand and said, “I understand. Ah Hui, you don’t  need to think too much. After this marriage, I only hoped that you will be well, but never for a moment thought that the Yin family would borrow some light from the palace (taking advantage of others’ prosperity). Your grandfather won’t, and will never let your uncle and aunt cause you trouble.”

Yin Hui’s eyes got wet. 

Her grandfather did indeed do so. In the previous life, it wasn’t until her grandfather died that the second uncle’s family began to frequently go to King Yan to entrust relations. 

Another guest came to the house, and Yin Yong went to entertain them. 

Yin Hui still stayed in his yard. When her grandfather was away, she sat under the eaves and invited the old steward, Uncle De, who was beside her grandfather to drink tea and talk.

Uncle De did not doubt her, so he talked about Liao Shisan, “This man used to work with other people. One year, the master went outside, and on the way he met a caravan that was robbed. Yin Hui nodded, “Who is there in his family?”

Uncle De thought for a while and said, “He didn’t have a family when he first came to our house to work. After he arrived in Pingcheng, he settled down, married, and gave birth to a daughter. His daughter is sensible, young, and ingenious.” 

Yin Hui fell into deep thought. 

In her previous life, her grandfather took a knife for her cousin Yin Wen and died at the hands of Liao Shisan. The government investigated Liao Shisan’s motive for the murder. It had nothing to do with the Yin family.

Some people wondered if Liao Shisan was crazy. 

Yin Hui did not accept such absurd guesses. A martial artist who follows the caravan to death every year would have a firmer mind than ordinary people.
