Reborn Lady - Chapter 25

Deep down in her heart, Yin Hui liked Wei Ying very much, because what Wei Ying liked to do was also what she liked to do, but her status was different.

Wei Ying was the daughter of King Yan, she was the daughter-in-law, and she didn’t have a strong maternal family’s backing. During those ten years, Yin Hui was careful everywhere. When she first got married, Wei Ying tried to get along with her, and found that they were not the same, so she no longer went to talk to her, and the two of them could meet each other when they went to greet Concubine Xu or at a banquet.. 

Why did Wei Ying come? 

After a short thought, Yin Hui arranged for Jinzhan to invite Wei Ying to the backyard. In new life, Yin Hui wanted to try to see if she could restore the friendship she had lost. 

Wei Ying had already sat down in the front hall, waiting for her third sister-in-law to rush over politely as before, and talk to her cautiously. 

Unexpectedly, only Jinzhan, the maid next to her third sister-in-law, appeared and invited her to the backyard with a smile. 

Wei Ying was surprised, but didn’t think too much, and followed her back.

She also brought a maid named Ah Fu with her. Seeing that Ah Fu was holding a box in her hand, Jinzhan guessed that the girl came to return the gift to her master because she ate sea bass. 

It was so nice of Miss Ying to be so polite, unlike Miss Shan, whose nose seemed to grow on her forehead (proud). 

Wei Ying went all the way to the east side of the backyard before seeing Yin Hui. 

Bright sunlight came in through the glazed window. Yin Hui was sitting cross-legged on the couch, teasing her son with a small rattle. He lay on his back, shaking his little hands and kicking his calves for a while and the joyful laughter of the baby echoed. 

Wu Lang smiled, and Yin Hui was also smiling, wearing a begonia-colored beanie. Her smile was prettier than flowers. 

“Sister, you’re here, come and sit down.” 

Seeing Wei Ying staring at her in a daze, Yin Hui greeted her with a smile, then picked up her son, pointed to Wei Ying and introduced, “Little aunt is here to see Wu Lang, Wu Lang will recognize her soon.”  

Xiao Heng leaned in his mother’s arms, staring at Wei Ying with black grape-like eyes. 

Wei Ying actually liked children very much, especially children before the age of three. They were small, soft and easy to coax. The older, would not be fun but were domineering and rude. Sa Lang was very willful. The one who was only one year old, was just right in age, but unfortunately he was weak and often fell ill, so Wei Ying didn’t dare to tease him. 

“Wu Lang is growing more and more beautiful,” Wei Ying, who originally planned to leave after returning the gift, took off her shoes unconsciously and came to sit down beside Yin Hui. 

Yin Hui handed over her son to Wei Ying. 

There were many nephews in the family, and Wei Ying was very good at holding children. She supported his back with one hand, and squeezed his chubby hand with the other, while lowering her head to tease. 

“The weather is fine today, why didn’t you go out to play?” Yin Hui asked in a familiar tone. 

Wei Ying: “A while ago I went out to play too much, my mother scolded me. So recently I pretended to be honest. But I have made an appointment with my fourth brother and fifth brother, and I will go out tomorrow night to set off the river lanterns. Do you want to go?”

Wei Ying asked out of politeness, and she already knew the answer in her heart. The third sister-in-law was too strict with the rules, so she would definitely not go. 

Sure enough, Yin Hui thought about it, then leaned closer to Wei Ying and said, “I want to go, but the second sister-in-law has just been punished, and I just went back to my mother’s house yesterday, so it’s not appropriate to go out tomorrow night. The second sister-in-law and the others could come out after the Mid-Autumn Festival. If you ask me out again then, I will definitely go with you.” 

Wei Ying’s eyes became bright in surprise. 

Yin Hui looked at her son and half-truthfully said, “I just got married last year, and I don’t understand the rules of the house, so I’m nervous about everything. But now it’s different, I already know that father and mother are also kind people. What is there to be afraid of?” 

Wei Ying said happily, “That’s true, it’s right for you to think so. Then you wait, I will come to you often in the future. By the way, I ate the food that you sent yesterday. I liked it very much, but I don’t know what to give back to my sister-in-law, so I dug out a toy I used to play with when I was young, to give it to Wu Lang.”

After speaking, Wei Ying ordered the maid, Ah Fu, to take out her gift . 

It was a red gold hollow ball the size of two adults’ fists, and there was a golden bell inside. The gold edges on the wall of the ball had been carefully polished to ensure that it would not cut the delicate skin of children. 

The hollow balls ordinary people played with were all made of rattan. Wei Ying was a noble daughter of the palace, and her toys were also extraordinary. 

Yin Hui said, “Such a ball must have been a gift from the elders. You should keep it for yourself as a souvenir, why be polite to us because of a fish?” 

Wei Ying: “I will not be too polite to my sister-in-law again in the future. But I already brought this toy over, so I’ll give it to Wu Lang.” 

She stuffed the ball into Xiao Heng’s hand, who held it clumsily, looking like he liked it very much. 

Teasing the child and talking again, Wei Ying unknowingly stayed in Chengxin Hall for an hour before happily leaving to accompany her birth mother, Concubine Guo, for dinner.

“Where have you been playing for so long?” Concubine Guo felt a headache when she saw her daughter. She was obviously a girl, but was raised like a young master. Guo Fangfei: “Oh, you went to thank her for the fish?”

“Sister-in-law is very interesting, and the two of us got along very well. But it’s a pity that we didn’t have the chance to know each other before, otherwise we might have become close friends.” 

Guo Concubine was surprised, “Is there such a thing?” 

In her memory, the third daughter-in-law had the same temperament as Mrs. Wen, both of whom were timid. But the third daughter-in-law was more beautiful and her natal family was rich.
