I am the crown prince? - Chapter 16
In the forest and near the cottage, Li Jie dug in the ground where a hidden box was. He stopped his digging when he saw the box itself. He gathered it in his arms, while looking right and left like a thief. When he saw no one around, he opened it to find blue flowers. He took one of them and closed the box. Then he put it back where it was supposed to be and covered it again. He took a deep breath and went back inside the cottage.
The Flower of life was a flower that contains an unbelievable ability to cure any injury, even if the person himself was taking his last breath. The flower was called the lotus flower.
Dr. Cheng found it when he faced a dangerous creature, a demon from the underground that used to be a horror story told to children. He got scared and ran for his life, making him fall in a hole and into a cave. Inside the cave, he found the secret treasure of the medical field, the lotus flower.
Dr. Cheng took the flower from Li Jie’s hand and put it near Zheng Lu’s nose then waited.
“I hope it works,” he murmured.
A blue air floated from the flower and entered Zheng Lu’s nose. His body started to glow a faint blue color, indicating that Zheng Lu was getting cured. The old man took off the bandage to witness the miracle with his own eyes.
The light gathered inside the wound and circled it in slow motion. And in a blink of an eye, the injury disappeared.
Li Jie gaped like a fish. For him knowing was a thing and seeing something was another thing. He stared at the wound astonished and couldn’t help his mouth that blurted out to the old man to sell it, as they can be rich that way. The old man glared at him. He didn’t know why he accepted such a gold digger fool in his house. He thanked the sky that at least he was trustworthy and he listened to him which was a plus. The doctor neglected him and turned Zheng Lu on his back.
“Carry him to your room,” The old man ordered Li Jie without looking his way.
Li Jie ignored him as he was busy drooling like a fool when he saw the young prince’s face. No one could blame him as he had two weaknesses, money and beauty. Li Jie tried to control his actions and cleaned the saliva that dropped in the corner of his lip. He cleared his throat, but still, he couldn’t tear his eyes off him.
Dr. Cheng watched in amusement as the young man drooled while staring at a person he thought was a he. The doctor started to get annoyed after a while and coughed to get his attention.
“Did you fall in love with a boy?” he asked the young man.
“Yes!” Li Jie replied in a daze.
“Are you going to marry him?” he asked him again.
“Yes!” he replied, drooling again.
“Then, now I announce you both husbands,” that woke him up from his daze with a horrified expression.
“I mean I am not looking at him! Yes, I am not looking at him,” he exclaimed with red cheeks. He rushed to the young prince and carried him in his arms then disappeared through the door, running from the old man.
“Finally, the day of revenge came,” the old man nodded in satisfaction.
Li Jie carried the person to his room and laid him on the bed. He wanted to leave and wake the little girl up to help the beautiful person with changing. But he didn’t and instead his hand reached the young prince’s hair.
“Are you a girl?” he whispered. His eyes went down to the prince’s chest.
“No way!” he denied after he stared too long at his chest area, which was covered by a torn robe.
He saw the young prince’s eyes twitch slightly and stared in anticipation. His wish was granted when the young prince opened his eyes. His brown eyes clashed with the prince’s purple ones.
Zheng Lu was surprised when he found the person he pushed in the valley near him. He felt cold and checked his clothes, to spot his thin, torn robe in a fall display.
“Pervert!” the young prince screamed and pushed the young man away from him.
The scream made Bo wake in fright. She tried to identify the voice owner, and when she did, she bolted where she heard it coming from in a hurry.
When she arrived, she saw the young prince awake. She was so happy that she couldn’t hold her excitement and threw her arms around him.
“This humble one is so happy that his highness is fine,” Bo whispered into her master’s ear. To her, the world became brighter with his recovery.
“Are you two a thing?” Li Jie couldn’t help but ask. When Bo realized her mistake, she released her master and apologized, “Forgive this slave for her mistake, your highness.”
“It’s alright,” Zheng Lu never cared about such a thing.
Bo directed her gaze to the young prince clothes and blushed. She tore her eyes away from him and ordered the young man to bring something for her master to wear.
“I ended up being the servant here,” Li Jie murmured. He threw the robe on Bo’s face and left them alone, while she glared daggers at his retreating figure.
“You don’t need to help me. Just give me the robe and leave,” Zheng Lu told her.
“As you wish,” the little maid felt relieved when he dismissed her and rushed out.
Zheng Lu wore the blue robe, and in a second he was out of the room.
‘Even cheap clothes make him look good,’ Bo told herself when she saw him leaving the room.
‘No wonder there are rumors about him being a monster,’ she thought and rolled her eyes. She was stupid for believing them.
‘He is a monster who makes people faint only by staring at his eyes,’ she thought with a smile visible on her face.
“Why are you smiling?” Zheng Lu asked.
“Nothing!” she replied.
Dr. Cheng left his medical room to check on Zheng Lu. He found him talking with the maid. He cleared his throat, trying to get their attention and when he did, he ordered the maid to leave them alone which she obeyed.
Zheng Lu watched him intensely. He was sure that this person knew about his real identity.
“Zheng Lu, the fourth prince…or let’s say the only princess of our empire,” the old man stated, startling him.
“Don’t worry! I won’t harm you! I was the one who delivered you after all,” he informed Zheng Lu.
“I am giving you a choice, to live a normal life, to grow up as a girl, as a boy, whatever you see fit,” he continued.
“Why?” Zheng Lu asked suspiciously.
“I was close to your mother,” he replied.
Zheng Lu mind went wild, he thought about all the possibilities. The old man didn’t look like a villain. But villains these days are often in disguise.
“I will send a letter to his majesty, then you can meet him and decide,” he told him when he saw the suspicious clear in the young prince’s eyes.
“Thank you!” Zheng Lu felt relieved when he heard that.
“I am Dr. Cheng! And from now on, I will take care of you,” he informed her.
