With Gu family’s background and looks, there was no shortage of good women around him. Why did he care about that indifferent woman?

Even Gu Shao’s fiancé, Zou Minjun, was better than Lin Meng. She was beautiful, gentle, and considerate. Furthermore, she had a good temperament and understood people. Yet, Gu Shao, for this heartless woman gave up such a good woman. He wanted to cancel the marriage contract at any costs.

“If you are anxious to go home, go. I will take care of Gu Shao.” Qin Yue’s expression was indifferent; but his words were tinged with disdain.

Lin Meng did not hear the contempt in his tone, or perhaps didn’t care. Qin Yue and Gu Yubai grew up together since childhood. They have been inseparable for so many years. If he was there, she does not need to worry about anything.

She stood up and nodded to Qin Yue. She glanced at the unconscious Gu Yubai and walked out of the ward without any hesitation.

Was Huai’an sleeping? As long as she was not home, he would not sleep. He would wait for her. Such a small kid had so much patience. Perhaps, children from poor families matured earlier. Huai’an was much more obedient than other kids his age. He never threw tantrums and he rarely cried in front of her. He seemed to understand her situation very well, often comforting her when she was sad.

At home, he used to follow her while she did her chores. He would accompany her quietly. He never cried. There was no electric fan in the house.

During the hot summers, when she washed clothes, he would sit next to her on a short stool and fan her. His small hands fanning her barely created any breeze, but she still felt the cool air on her face.

Her baby accompanied her through the lowest tide of her life. If not for him, she wouldn’t have struggled to live. With him at her side, all the depressing thoughts vanished. Huai’er watching her, guarding her…

She had a son to raise… raise him to adulthood, let him sense the beauty of the world. Hence, she couldn’t fail—couldn’t give up.

Huai’an was not just a part of her life, but her whole universe. He was the most important person in her life. For his sake, she could do anything.

Gone! This woman didn’t have a conscience. Qin Yue frowned when he saw Lin Meng leaving without a trace of hesitance. What kind of woman was she? He really couldn’t figure out.

What does Gu Shao see in her? Until the footsteps disappeared, Qin Yue didn’t look towards Gu Yubai. He noticed Gu Yubai staring at the ceiling.

“Gu Shao, you woke up.” Qin Yue sighed.

Gu Yubai glanced at the bottle that was being injected, and realized that it would take ten more minutes.

“A Yue, call the doctor. I want to get discharged.”

“But your body—”

“Don’t get in my way; there are doctors at home..” Gu Yubai interrupted him. He was firm on his decision.
