Blissful Days After Widowhood - Chapter 495
With the remedy, and Gu Ye, Wu Qingyi felt much better.
He exuded a strong scent of alcohol and sweat, immediately getting up to wash up after speaking.
After a while, he returned wearing an undershirt, damp from bathing, of the same color as his wedding attire.
Gu Yin thought he might be hungry after drinking, so she had already prepared some light porridge soup and side dishes.
Wu Qingyi stated, “I’m not very hungry.”
However, as it was specially prepared by her, he sat down at the table, picked up the small bowl, and took two large sips.
Despite having eaten, his eyes never strayed from Gu Yin.
She had encountered those eyes once before, resembling hungry wolves circling prey—vicious and heart-pounding.
On the table were a wine jug and two small cups meant for the newlyweds to exchange drinks.
Gu Yin quickly lowered her eyes and filled two small wine glasses.
Wu Qingyi set down the porridge bowl and took the cup in front of him. The two entwined their wrists and drank together.
Gu Yin was about to mention washing up, but Wu Qingyi’s gaze had already fixated on her hands—hands that once bore slight calluses but were now maintained to the tips of each finger, gleaming like jade.
What drew even more attention was the bright red on her fingernails.
He took the cup from her hand, caressed a pair of red-dyed nails in his palm, then picked her up and strode over to the bed.
 “I… I haven’t bathed yet!” Gu Yin whispered.Â
“You don’t need to bathe,” Wu Qingyi’s voice was chillingly low as he buried his face in her neck and took a deep sniff. “It’s fragrant!”
Settled on the bed, Gu Yin’s loose bun unfurled, resembling dark seaweed spread behind her head.
Her cheeks flushed crimson, her eyes gleamed, and she cast a timid gaze in his direction.
Wu Qingyi stared at her for a moment before beginning to help Gu Yin remove her shoes and socks.
Beneath the red embroidered shoes, lay a pair of feet—white and soft, with small and round toes, exuding a charming cuteness.
Wu Qingyi extended his hand and ran it over her instep with scorching heat. Surprisingly, his dark and thick hand could envelop her foot within the palm of his own.
The mere contrast of their two skin colors was enough to make anyone blush.
Gu Yin lightly bit her lip, suppressing the murmur that wanted to escape.
As she turned her head, Wu Qingyi had already released her, tossing her embroidered shoes toward the window, creating a soft “dong” sound.Â
A shadowy figure swayed by the window.
“Mother!” Wu Qingyi called out helplessly.
Sure enough, Mrs. Wang’s voice came from outside the window, “Hey, let’s go, let’s go!”
After a while, the outside finally fell completely silent. Wu Qingyi’s expression relaxed, and he focused on looking at her, simultaneously lowering the curtains.
The candle would burn all night, and as the curtains descended, they blocked most of the light, creating the illusion that the tent was a world unto itself.
In that dim world, there were only the two of them.
Gu Yin felt so nervous that she closed her eyes. Although she didn’t tremble, her long eyelashes fluttered like black butterflies, quivering slightly.
Wu Qingyi’s palm remained scorching. He eagerly and gently removed her layered wedding dress, as if unwrapping a gift he had long anticipated.
“Yin Yin, don’t be afraid.”
Wu Qingyi’s heated breath tickled her ear, and his voice was hoarse, murmuring and comforting.
Upon hearing his words, Gu Yin raised her eyes and looked at him, his eyes terrifyingly bright.
It was Wu Qingyi—how could she be afraid of someone who loved her so much?
“Okay, I’m not afraid.” As soon as she finished speaking, he turned to kiss her, a look of joy and reverence on his face.
He delicately cradled the grass flower beside him.
The grass felt as tender as silk, the rocks remained steadfast, and the warmth of the beginning lingered. Shadows stretched out as the night extended its embrace, signaling that it was only the beginning.
Although Gu Yin didn’t genuinely believe he had some hidden problems, subconsciously, she already felt that he didn’t prioritize desire.
Only after the wedding night did she realize that her thinking was wrong.
It wasn’t that he didn’t care about desires; he could genuinely endure it.
After the first time, Gu Yin felt a little discomfort in her body, but it wasn’t particularly unpleasant. After lying down for a while, she propped herself up and prepared to take a bath.
Wu Qingyi’s rapid breathing slowed down, and when he saw her getting up, he also sat up.
As Gu Yin was about to leave the bed, he picked her up again.
She only had time to grab an inner coat and put it on her body before he carried her to the clean room.
The hall of the new house was on the other side of the main hall, a hall that the family had not used before.Â
After several months of repairs and new furniture, the yard had a new look inside and out.Â
And before the start of construction, Wu Qingyi also showed Gu Yin the blueprint, which allowed her to put forward many of her own ideas.Â
Like that wash room, Gu Yin made a special request, hoping that it would be connected to the master bedroom, so that after bathing, there was no need to dress up and they could go directly to the bedroom.Â
Unexpectedly, such a design made it convenient for Wu Qingyi to hug her for a bath.
Fortunately, there was only one oil lamp lit in the washroom, and the thick candle, illuminating the inner room quite dimly, spared them some embarrassment.
Gu Yin asked Wu Qingyi to put her down, then she averted her gaze and attended to her clothes.
Only then did she realize that the blouse she had picked up indiscriminately was not her own but Wu Qingyi’s.
