Black Heart: Her Diabolical Ways - Chapter 6

Yi Lan was floating in a dark space. Her body felt light and her mind was calm. She opened her violet eyes slowly, her face glowing eerily.

Her mind felt fuzzy and she was unable to think properly. She blinked and blinked but the haziness didn’t disappear. That was when she saw a small light in front of her.

Forcing her body to move, she floated towards the light, that grew bigger and bigger as she drew closer. When she reached the light, it was so bright that it blinded her. Impulsively, she closed her eyes, feeling warm.

When she opened her eyes again, she saw a gold ceiling. Feeling groggy, she blinked her eyes and tried to get up, only to feel intense pain in her abdomen.

Yi Lan let out a pained gasp and when she looked down, she saw a bloody wound on her stomach. ‘As far as I remember, I was shot in my leg and shoulder, so why do I have a wound on my stomach?!’ Yi Lan felt something was wrong. She immediately got up, ignoring the pain from her stomach and other parts of her body.

Yi Lan only became more confused on seeing where she was. The room was clean and smelled of herbs. It looked like the medieval herbal clinics. The feeling of dread only grew in Yi Lan and she quickly tried to exit the room.

She dragged her injured body through a hallway that was decorated lavishly and was furnished with gold. ‘Is this a museum??’ Yi Lan thought, ‘But then why would I be here? Must be because of that man.’ Yi Lan thought of that cute boy she had seen holding her after the accident.

She roamed around, until she finally found a door. Thinking that it was the exit, she pushed it open with relief, only to see a huge room filled with some people. There was a gold throne. The people were dressed in the style ancient time people wore. Yi Lan almost snorted seeing them in the heavy and ridiculous clothing.

‘Looks like I really have come into a museum. They must be doing an act of some kind.’ muses Yi Lan.

Just as Yi Lan was turning away, a gasp was heard through the room.

“H-h-ho-how are you alive?!?!”a shrill voice screamed.

Yi Lan looked back to see a young lady dressed in extravagant clothes with a pale face.

She frowned before asking”You’re talking to me?”

In a second, everyone in the room started letting out sounds of surprise. All of them recognized the girl standing in front of them. But wasn’t she supposed to be dead?

Yi Lan only grew more confused at this. Before she got the time to react, she was dragged into the room. She tried to struggle but her injuries were too grave for her to act. “Leave me alone! What to do you want!?” she shouts.

A white robed old man immediately told one of the guards “Go and call the Crown Prince here.”

The guard bowed and left.

“Young miss, please stop struggling. You have just recovered.” the white robed man said, his concern genuine.

But Yi Lan was annoyed and that too, a lot. “Who are you all? How dare you keep me against my will!? Do you know who I am? Once, my family finds out about this, you’ll all suffer.” Yi Lan spoke coldly, having no choice but to threaten them with her family’s name. Usually, she would hit them till they were black and blue, but currently she was injured.

The white robed man looked shocked. He hadn’t expected that the young miss of the Yi clan would speak to him like this.

Hearing this, the pale woman who had screamed at Yi Lan walked forward. “Yi Meng! How can you speak to Elder Mu like that?! This is disrespectful. Apologize to him right now.” The pale faced woman had now regained her colour and spoke gracefully.

Yi Lan’s face grew twisted in anger. Who was this bitch to tell her what to do!

” Do I look like I care!? Who are you to order me around?” Yi Lan snapped. In her anger, Yi Lan hadn’t heard what the woman had addressed her as.

The woman was shocked and took back a step. For a second, her face grew ugly in anger but she covered with a fake hurtful look. “Sister Meng, how can you talk to me that way? I was only worried about you. I’m glad you have recovered. When I got the news that you were dead, I almost lost my senses.” The woman even let out a few tears.

Everyone in the room whispered and looked sympathetically at the woman.

Yi Lan only sneered. She had seen many people like her and was not stupid enough to be fooled by her acts. “Who are you calling Sister Meng?! I’m no sister of yours, nor am I Meng.”

Everyone collectively gasped. Yi Lan furrowed her eyebrows at the drama they were showing. Her face lit up as she realized ‘That’s right! They were doing a drama! But why did they have to drag me in?’ she thought.

Aloud, she said” Look, you can continue acting but I’m done. I don’t have time to participate in a drama. I’ll be going. My family must be worried.” Inside, Yi Lan felt proud that she had acted so civilly.

The white robed man once again spoke up” Young miss, I’m afraid you have injured your brain in the incident. You don’t even remember who you are.” His tone was calm, as if he was talking to a child.

Yi Lan face puffed up in annoyance. “What are you saying? I know very well who I am. I’m Yi Lan and I’m seventeen years old. I go to XYZ school and my best friend is Kira. There, done. See? I remember everything.”

There was only silence in the room. Everyone looked warily at one another.

One of the men ordered the guards “Guards, take her to the healer to check her. I’m afraid she is mentally ill.”

Yi Lan had reached her limit and she shouted “Who do you all think you are?! I’m not mad! Just you wait. I’ll call the police. This is against my human rights. You’ll all go in jail. Just wait all of you.” She patted her thighs, only to find that she was in a robe. She cursed silently ‘Damn meddlers, must have changed my clothes.’

She looked at the guards approaching her. ‘I guess I have no choice.’

She saw a woman standing nearby, whose hair was wrapped in a bun with a metal chopstick.

She yanked the sharp hairpin out of the woman’s hair, who cried out in surprise.

With a flash, she was behind the woman. The sharp hairpin was pointed at the woman’s neck. The woman stopped breathing as she felt her hairpin near her neck.

Yi Lan’s body hurt but she held on firmly. “If you don’t let me go, I’ll kill her.” Her voice was cold and filled with killing intent.

The people there were suffocated by the killing intent Yi Lan had released. The pale faced woman from earlier almost staggered back in shock.

The metal hairpin in Yi Lan’s hand dug into the fair skin of woman, making it bleed. The woman trembled as she saw the blood flowing through her wound. Tears started running from her eyes. Yi Lan, on seeing the woman cry, sighed inwardly. “Don’t worry, I won’t kill you. This is only so that they will let me go.” Yi Lan whispered. She disliked weepy women.

The woman’s breath finally calmed down and she gave an imperceptible nod.

No one had noticed this exchange.

The white robbed man, recovered quickly from the hit of killing intent and was going to free the woman, when a cold wind rushed into the room.

The woman in Yi Lan’s arms was snatched away, along with the hairpin. Yi Lan blinked, confused about what had happened.

The others were happy to see the person who had rescued the woman. “Crown Prince!” squealed a girl in delight, a blush adorning her face.

The woman in the prince’s arms also trembled in delight, when she saw her rescuer. She had never thought that such a handsome man would come to her rescue. She felt that the cut on her neck was worth it.

Yi Lan’s thoughts were the exact opposite. Shr glared at the man who had jusy entered. He was what you call an *ikemen, handsome, smart and powerful. His short dark hair hung smoothly over his forehead, his eyebrows perfectly shaped and eyes a dreamy green.

Yi Lan only hmphed in annoyance. She had a strong dislike of men like him. The only exception was her big brother and Kira.

The handsome man glanced at the woman in his arms. “Are you alright?” His voice was deep and low, making every girl in the room shiver except of course Yi Lan.

The woman blushed at the Prince’s gaze and said in a low voice “Yes.”

The Crown Prince smiled and said “Then would you mind accompanying me to dinner tonight?”

The woman almost fainted with delight. “Yes, I would love to.”

The Crown Prince gracefully set her down while saying “Then I’ll look forward to tonight.”

Almost all of the girls in the room gritted their teeth in anger and jealousy, especially the pale faced woman.

The Crown Prince then looked at Yi Lan who was standing there with an annoyed look on her face. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes before he walked towards her.

“Miss Meng, may I ask what you were doing to this beautiful lady?” His tone was casual, but there was a hint of darkness in it.

Yi Lan felt a chill. She could tell that this man was powerful. More than her. That speed was inhuman. She knew she couldn’t afford to waste time here.

She took a step forward.

And another, till she was a few centimetres away from the Crown Prince.

“Go. To. Hell.” she gritted out. Yi Lan had already reached her limit. Her eyes glinted and then she did something that no one expected. With a swing of her leg, she kicked the Crown Prince straight between his legs.

The said man, who hadn’t expected her to pull such a move, groaned out in pain.

The people there were shocked and before anyone could act, Yi Lan ran out of the room.

“Your Highness!” screamed a few girls.

The Crown Prince, gritted his teeth as pain burst from his crotch.

“Guards, find her and bring her to me.” The Crown Prince’s tone was so dark that the white robed man couldn’t help but light a candle in his mind for the young miss of Yi Clan.

On the other hand, the Crown Prince had a scary smile on his face. That woman had the guts to hit him and run away!? ‘Just you wait, Yi Meng.’
