Black Heart: Her Diabolical Ways - Chapter 2
Yi Lan had just returned from watching the amusing show in front of her when a curvy figure suddenly blocked her path.
Yi Lan stared indifferently at the person standing in front of her. This girl had long dark hair with eyes that were of the deepest blue. Her countenance was simply startling, and because of this, she had drawn many men into her traps. Unfortunately, those men were unaware of what kind of a woman she really was until it was too late!
“Yi Lan, I thought you were better than this. How could you do this to Mo Huo!?” The woman said viciously while pouting pitifully. Yi Lan could only say that such acting skills were Oscar worthy.
She continued to look at Yi Lan with big, watery and sad eyes as she said further, “Brother Mo Huo had been so good to you, yet you repay his kindness with such dirty tricks?!”
Yi Lan scoffed in her heart. Had she not known the real nature of the person in front of her, she would have long been fooled by this actress. She smirked inwardly while thinking, ‘So be it. I’ll pay back acting with acting.’
Yi Lan tilted her head to the side while looking at the woman with innocence and confusion in her eyes, “Mo Ling, what are you talking about? I have no idea, so please excuse this ignorant fool.”
Hearing this, Mo Ling’s expression immediately turned ugly. She knew that this brat was playing coy and she sputtered out, “Don’t act innocent! I know that you are the one who spread the video. Everyone knows!”
“What video? What does everybody know?” said Yi Lan, her voice as sweet as honeycomb. She indicated her lack of accessories hand gestures before continuing, “You see, my phone’s been taken away by my older brother, so I wasn’t able to check anything new today. What exactly is going on?”
For a moment, Mo Ling was forced to consider the fact that Yi Lan, perhaps, wasn’t the one who uploaded the video. After all, she couldn’t fake a thing like her phone being taken away. It would be exposed far too easily as her guardians would be the first to expose her.
However, once Mo Ling caught sight of Yi Lan’s eyes were sparkling with mirth, she reconsidered again. She suddenly understood that this brat was playing her like a fiddle!
She, Mo Ling, was being played with!
“You!” Intense anger filled Mo Ling’s heart, “Stop acting and tell me, how did you photoshop my Brother Mo Huo’s face in the video!?”
By this time, a crowd of people had already gathered and whispers were constantly heard in the surroundings. With so many people pointing and snickering, or shaking their heads in disappointment, Mo Ling was no longer sure who was the one being talked about! This wasn’t a part of her plan at all.
“Sister Mo Ling, please do not accuse me of such dirty things,” Yi Lan’s appearance was one of hurt and resentment, making her seem more adorable than usual. The crowd ate it up like candy, as she continued to appear demure while defending herself, “I am incapable of doing those things.”
The crowd couldn’t help but to be full of sighs, outwardly and inwardly. As they watched the beautiful girl in front of them looking so sad, each person here felt the need to protect her from bullying!
Although Mo Ling could be considered beautiful as well, Yi Lan was cuter and her lithe profile made one want to stand up for her.
Only one person remained unaffected to this face of hers. Intense anger bubbled up within Mo Ling’s stomach and she spoke up aggressively, “I am not your sister, so don’t call me that! And what nonsense are you blabbering about?! It’s obvious, Brother was falsely accused by you!”
The violent looking Mo Ling was a very stark contrast to the crying Mo Ling of a few moments ago.
“Oh..and why would I do so?” asked Yi Lan calmly.
“Obviously, because when you confessed to him previously, he rejected you! So you decided to take revenge,” watching Yi Lan appear so calm, Mo Ling’s body shook in anger. She sneered then blurted out,” Posting a fake video to put dirt on his name, you’re just too low!”
“Sister Mo Ling, why do you say such cruel things to me?” Yi Lan sneered inwardly, yet she showed a hurt face while responding, “I have still not recovered from the heartbreak Mo Huo had given me at that time. Even if he rejected me, why would I do such a thing to a person I love?! Maybe…”
Yi Lan stopped speaking in the middle of her words, appearing hesitant.
“Maybe what?” asked Mo Ling, her face darkening. She had a foreboding feeling.
“Maybe it was someone close to him… I mean you never know when a person may stab you in the back…” Yi Lan purposely laid emphasis on these sentences, trying to push the blame onto Mo Ling, “I know if I was that person, the first thing I would do is to find a scapegoat.”
Hearing this, the crowd of people around them began to mutter loudly.
“I also agree with Yi Lan. Why would she need to do such a thing?”
“Yes, yes, she’s from the Yi family. With such a family backing, why would she use underhanded methods?!”
“What’s this nonsense about Mo Huo rejecting Yi Lan? Is this punk even worthy?”
“No, it’s true. I remember that day, she looked so hurt.”
“If so, then don’t you think the person who posted the video might be Mo Ling?! Why else would she try so hard to accuse Yi Lan?”
“You! Stop saying such things out loud. That’s the Mo family your talking about here! Do you wish to be dead so soon?!”
Though their words were soft, both Yi Lan and Mo Ling could hear them. Yi Lan just continued with her previous act, as she knew Mo Ling better than anyone.
The two girls were best friends a long time ago. It was only because of a fight that they drifted apart. The reason for their fight was, in fact, Mo Huo. Mo Huo and Mo Ling are cousins. As a child, Mo Ling was heavily infatuated with Mo Huo. She always followed him around. In middle school, Mo Ling became jealous of all the girls who came close to Mo Huo. She tried to discourage these girls, but no one paid any attention to her.
So guess what happened next?
She started to bully them.
Yi Lan was very annoyed by this and confronted Mo Ling, telling her to stop her actions. She only wanted her best friend back. But Mo Ling thought that Yi Lan liked Mo Huo as well. In Mo Ling’s mind even her best friend wanted her man! She got upset with Yi Lan and told her to mind her own business if there were real friends.
At that time, neither of them had noticed Mo Huo standing behind a wall. He was able to hear most of their conversation, and a huge smirk was pasted on his face at that time. Meanwhile, the frustrated Yi Lan was forced to give up on talking some sense into her friend. She left school but was blocked by Mo Huo on her way home.
When she saw it was Mo Huo obstructing her path, Yi Lan couldn’t help but curse him. Yet, all he did was grab her hand and pull her into his chest. She immediately reached to slap him, but Mo Huo grabbed her hand and stopped her by saying, “Stop struggling, I know you like me. Why act?”
His words had completely infuriated Yi Lan, and she immediately punched him in the jaw. Mo Huo stumbled, a little surprised by the strength and boldness of this dainty girl. Yi Lan tried to leave right after hitting, but was once again caught by him. Rage filled Mo Huo’s eyes as his hands tightened around Yi Lan’s wrists, making her gasp and exclaim in pain. At that time she hadn’t learnt any martial arts yet,so she could only struggle helplessly.
When she wanted to scream, Mo Huo closed her mouth with his hand. He even cupped his big palm to fit around her mouth, not giving her the chance to bite him.He then spoke in her ear, the hot breath making her shiver in fear “Hey Yi girl, relax! Didn’t I already say it? You like me right? Don’t worry, I’ll accept you. You right along with that foolish friend of yours, Mo Ling. Only both of you together will be qualified to warm my bed,” Mo Huo laughed in a psychotic way,making Yi Lan’s eyes widen in fear.
At that moment, she knew of Mo Huo’s true nature.
Warm his bed?!
They were still in middle school, third year!!!
These words terrified Yi Lan, she was far from being ready for such a thing. Her purity was at stake here!
“Auho!” a pathetic squeal came from Mo Huo’s mouth. In desperation, Yi Lan kicked Mo Huo in his crotch! Seeing him collapse powerlessly, she secretly took note of this instant knockout move before running away as fast as her jade legs would take her.
The next day when she tried to tell this story to her bestie Mo Ling, she was instead pushed away in disgust! Mo Ling only had this to say, “Now that Brother Huo rejected you, you dare come back to me!!Get lost, Brother Huo told me everything about how you tried to blackmail him when he rejected you. I never knew you were such a bi**ch. You betrayed me! He said you would try to tell the very lies you just used, tsk.”
A thunder-struck Yi Lan stood frozen there in shock. To Yi Lan, the rest of day felt as if she was just trapped in that moment, looping infinitely. Even when the day was over, she still couldn’t accept that Mo Huo had took the chance to spread false news about her before she could spill the truth. She only waited until the next day! How could she imagine that Mo Huo would be so swift and decisive? Not to mention that Mo Ling, who had been her best friend for ten years, had just blew her off because of some boy she was infatuated with?! She didn’t hesitate to believe one over the other!
Was this truly all their friendship had been worth this entire?
Yi Lan felt like an idiot.
She could only laugh bitterly at how naive she had been. When her eyes had met Mo Huo’s, his eyes had a mischievous pride and a sliver of madness in them. Hatred filled phoenix like eyes met his insulting gaze, causing an involuntary chill to run down Mo Huo’s back. It was on that day, when Yi Lan had swore to herself that she would become powerful enough to take down fifty Mo Huo’s. Had her family known about this, they would have already thrown Mo Huo into hell. But Yi Lan didn’t go back and tell her family. Instead, she stayed quiet because she only wanted to take revenge with her own hands.
Fast-forwarding to the present situation, a part of her revenge was now finished.
At this point, Mo Ling had already realized that she was set up thoroughly. She regretted ever coming to engage in a battle of wit and words with this sneaky harlot. Now, she only wanted to redeem her reputation! Mo Ling glared fiercely at Yi Lan, her true nature seeping out, “You actually dare accuse me of posting that video?! You’re trying to make everyone believe I’m the one who did it?”
Yi Lan only pouted cutely, “Sister Mo Ling, I never said that. I don’t even know what video you’re talking about. I was only making a suggestion. Rather, it was you who just said it was you who did it.”
The murmurs around them only increased. After all, Yi Lan never seemed to accuse Mo Ling this entire time. Yet, Mo Ling had been trying to accuse Yi Lan from the beginning!
Seeing the crowds reactions to her ex-friend’s words, Mo Ling felt excessively bitter. Anger clouded her rationality as her hand flew forward, throwing a slap aimed at Yi Lan.
Unfortunately, she was stopped by Yi Lan, who held her wrist in a tight grip. Mo Ling cried out in pain as Yi Lan’s grip tightened. Yi Lan smiled in satisfaction and then dropped her hand. She then flipped her long and beautiful platinum blonde hair, continuing on her path.
However, she did not miss the opportunity to whisper discreetly in Mo Ling’s ear as she slid by, “Your Brother Mo won’t be this lucky next time. Make sure you let him know that after you warm his bed tonight.”
Mo Ling’s face experienced multiple changes, going from bright pink, to green, to blue-black in rage!
Nonetheless, Mo Ling she remained silent in response this. This wasn’t because she didn’t have a rebuttal. Merely, after being played so thoroughly, she had quite a bit of trepidation towards beating Yi Lan in a war of words. Or any war, for that matter. Mo Ling barked at the people standing there to vent her anger, “What are you all standing here for?! Get lost.”
The crowd of people all scurried away in terror.
Mo Ling sat down on a seat nearby, contemplating her next course of action.
Soon, a maniacal grin spread across her face, “Don’t worry Brother Huo, Ling-er will take care of Yi Lan. For the problem to be gone, its roots have to be taken out first.”
She took out her cell phone before making a call. She smirked while speaking in a hushed tone, “Hello? E. A. P? I need you to send me as many people as you can. I want you to kill a girl called Yi Lan.”

Back on her way home, Yi Lan suddenly sneezed violently. She grumbled while rubbing her nose, “Hah! Someone must be cursing this young miss. Too many enemies to count, hmph.”
