To make He Yu regret - chapter 50
Going downstairs, it was raining outside, she came out anxiously without an umbrella, and he opened his umbrella to cover her head. He was embarrassed as he said something serious to her before, and he thought that the next contact with her would be 10,000 years later. But the opportunity to speak came quickly. He Yu realized. Even though he expected to be a sleek person, he couldn’t avoid Jiang Xiaozhen, so that he wouldn’t make any mistakes he tried to avoid her and run away.
After making sure that no one nearby would hear, he asked her. “Did Uncle Jiang do anything to hurt you or your mother, so you don’t want to see him?”
If that was the case, He Yu understands, and he would help her stop Jiang Yuan. Whether it was at that moment or later he would help her.
“No.” Jiang Xiaozhen tightened her shoulders.
Under the umbrella supported by He Yu she felt cold. Her voice was almost engulfed by the sound of rain, or maybe, she talked very quietly.
“He was a good dad. Apart from the failure of the business, there was nothing to blame.”
“Then why…” He asked, “You don’t want to see him?”
She didn’t look at him, and walked straight forward. Jiang Yuan waited outside for a long time, but it was all to see his daughter. He took Jiang Xiaozhen from He Yu’s umbrella and thanked him gratefully. He didn’t have the time to recognize who He Yu was, but it didn’t matter who he was. He Yu stood on duty and watched them go outside the campus. Jiang Yuan’s umbrella was a bit broken, so he pulled the umbrella surface to flatten the unfastened fabric. The chubby Jiang Xiaozhen was protected by the umbrella as best it could from wind and rain. Jiang Xiaozhen’s voice floated far away, with anger in her tone.
“If you want to see me, why did you come to my school?”
Jiang Yuan explained, “I couldn’t go where you live, I would be leaving soon. So…”
He Yu didn’t intend to listen to the conversation between the two, and turned his attention back.
“Jiang Xiaozhen had registered. If she comes in after for the bell rings, don’t deduct her points.” He explained to the classmate on duty. The classmate understood what he meant, “Okay, then go to the back door.”
He Yu took a few steps and turned back.
“Forget it, I’ll stay here, there was nothing wrong with the back door.”
Looking at the alarm clock in the guard room, he said, “We still have five minutes to ring the bell. I would send her to the teaching building later, she didn’t bring an umbrella.”
If Zhang Shiyu was there and heard He Yu, he would surely start wailing again. With nothing to do, He Yu began to wander.
The question he asked Jiang Xiaozhen, she actually didn’t answer him clearly. Why did she not want to see Jiang Yuan at first?
He found it strange, just like she said, he was a good father, and the relationship between the father and daughter looked good.
“Is it because she doesn’t want to come out soon after class? Didn’t want to come out as it is raining?”
Such reasons were quite nonsensical, but when he thought about it carefully, it was really something that the eldest lady would do. His speculation ended there. If Jiang Xiaozhen didn’t say anything, He Yu wouldn’t force her for an answer. After all, it was her privacy. The duty team was ready to let Jiang Xiaozhen in after the bell rang.
But, in less than five minutes, she finished speaking with her dad. Jiang Xiaozhen waved goodbye to her dad, a student ran towards the school as they were about to close the door and she managed to squeeze into the slowly closed school door. He Yu took an umbrella to send Jiang Xiaozhen back to her class.
The one who ran to the school gate happened to be in her class, and the three of them walked side by side.
“Was that your father?” The girl was out of breath, when she saw them earlier, the scene felt a bit strange to her.
“Don’t everyone in the class say that your dad is the owner of a big hotel and he is rich.”
“He was not my dad,” Jiang Xiaozhen lied, without even thinking, “Don’t tell anyone that you saw him.”
“Oh,” the girl scratched her head, “Who was he then?”
“It’s the kind…” He Yu watched Jiang Xiaozhen make lies up on the spot.
“My dad was a handyman who helps runners.”
“Ah, no wonder,” the girl said bluntly, “I just thought, he was so shabby, if it was really your dad, how poor your family would be.”
“Haha, it’s not my dad.” She smiled and said to the girl. Jiang Xiaozhen’s smile was very artificial. There was a simpler answer to why she didn’t want to see Jiang Yuan in school. Because of Jiang Xiaozhen’s vanity.
The author has something to say:
Zhang Shiyu: “Are you acquainted with her? What’s the story between you two?”
He Yu: “Speaking of that story…it’s a bit long. Why don’t I recommend you a novel called “To Make He Yu Regret”.”
