To make He Yu regret - chapter 43
She was the number one girl in the class who they least wanted to make friends with, ugly, zero brains, bad taste, loves to brag and arrogant with… both internal and external flaws. She was like a fly that just hovered around them. She knew why they refused but she pretended not to understand, and wasn’t ashamed to stick to others.
The girls looked at each other with blank faces. They could only wait for someone to figure out a way to get rid of Jiang Xiaozhen.
“Well, you all go first. I’ll find you later! I’m going to wipe the blackboard.”
Before they could utter a word, Jiang Xiaozhen made plans on behalf of everyone. After that, she walked away on her own, regardless of the murmurs.
He Yu and his friends came out of the art room. When he got out and passed from the big playground, he saw Jiang Xiaozhen walk in front with a garbage bag in her hands. The princess dress that had remained unchanged for thousands of years made him quickly recognize her. Jiang Xiaozhen was fatter than ordinary people, and the shadow reflected in the sunset was two times bigger than others. What she was lifting was probably not light. She walked slowly, and the weird black shadow followed her closely, like a monster lying on the ground. He stared at her back, and his friend looked at her, and recognized her equally quickly.
“Is that the ugly woman who disgusted us in the cafeteria before?”
He Yu glanced at him, “Your words are too ugly.”
The friend hadn’t understood where the coldness in his eyes came from, so He Yu offered an explanation.
“She is my acquaintance.”
“Huh?” The friend dropped his chin in shock. He looked at him and then at the ugly girl. How could he think those two people could be together.
He Yu said, “I knew her since I was five years old.”
He waved to his friend, and took a step first.
“I’ll help her. You can go back by yourself.”
His friend was speechless. He Yu ran over and started talking to the girl.
“Jiang Mingzhen.” She trembled when she heard those words.
Turning her head, she saw a handsome guy carrying a bag.
“Huo… He Yu.”
Jiang Xiaozhen smiled at him, “Hello! It’s fate. I just learned about you yesterday, and we met today.”
“Hello,” he walked to her side as he spoke, and reached out to pick up her trash, “Are you on duty today? I’ll take it for you.”
“I am a health commissioner, and I throw garbage every day.”
She avoided his hand and said, “I don’t need your help. The bag isn’t clean. You would be soiled later.”
“It’s okay.” He Yu lifted the garbage bag, freeing the weight on her hands.
Jiang Xiaozhen couldn’t say anything, so she thanked him. The two walked for a while.
“He Yu,” she cleared her throat, and suddenly said, “Next time you see me in school, call me Jiang Xiaozhen, okay? I changed my name…”
“Ah, good.”
He Yu knew that she had changed her name, so he realized that he called her Jiang Mingzhen just now. However, he was surprised: “Why did you change your name?”
“Just… some reasons.” Jiang Xiaozhen said vaguely, they just reached the trash corner, and she was about to pick up the trash bag again.
“I’ll go in and throw it.” Stepping away, He Yu turned towards the smelly garbage dump.
“You can wait for me at the sink.”
He threw away the trash and they washed their hands. Jiang Xiaozhen raised her glasses, and her head, and stared at the sky.
“The sunset is beautiful.” He Yu followed her voice and watched.
The sparse clouds gave way to the setting sun, and the distant sky was golden light in colour.
She said, “I like it the most on any day.”
The setting sun also wrapped Jiang Xiaozhen in the warm orange and yellow colors, and the plastic hairpin on her head was shining brightly. He Yu had a strange feeling in that small moment. He felt that Jiang Xiaozhen in front of him was a bit strange. Probably because of her calmness. She stared at the sunset, quietly, without any expression on her face.
That made her look like a normal person. But precisely because she looked like a normal person, which wasn’t normal for Jiang Xiaozhen. She retracted her gaze and asked He Yu, “Can you wait for me?”
“What’s wrong?”
“I’ll go back to the classroom to get a schoolbag,” Jiang Xiaozhen smiled at him and said, “As a reward for helping me, I have something for you.”
The illusion that she was a normal person disappeared. Jiang Xiaozhen’s words seemed to be like a eldest lady who was rewarding the driver for working hard. Her tone was the same, which suddenly made people feel bad.
He Yu rejected her reward, “It’s not necessary to raise reward me.”
“No, you wait for me.”
She put aside his words, ran to the teaching building, and took her school bag. He Yu had to wait for her. Soon, Jiang Xiaozhen, who carried a large school bag, appeared in the playground. As soon as the schoolbag was placed on the floor, she unzipped and pulled out a large plastic bag. As soon as the plastic bag was drawn, the school bag was almost empty, and there were no books in it.
“Here, you choose.” Jiang Xiaozhen opened the bag to show him, it was full of snacks.
She was very generous, “You could take as much as you want.”
