The Eldest Daughter-in-Law [Reborn] - Chapter 92
In her sleep, Xie Yunchu shivered, and a soft moan escaped her lips. This completely ignited Wang Shuhai’s desire. Without hesitation, he discarded her thin nightgown, revealing her smooth back. Her beauty, untouched, radiated a deadly allure. He kissed a path from her shoulder down her back, his lips tracing every curve.
A wave of shivers spread through her body, and Xie Yunchu instinctively trembled, heat rising from her chest, washing away her drowsiness. When she realized what he was doing, she froze, unsure of how to react. She turned to face him, stopping his kiss.
Wang Shuhai hovered above her in the dim light, his gaze dark and intense.
She whispered, “Wang Shuhai… what are you doing?”
The sudden intimacy left her at a loss.
She had never been kissed like this before, unable to tell if the sensation was pleasant or overwhelming. A surge of uncontrollable, involuntary warmth coursed through her limbs, leaving her unaccustomed to the loss of control.
The man’s face remained hidden in the shadows, indistinct, but his voice carried a husky, velvety depth, “You set the date but didn’t limit the number of times. The hour hasn’t passed yet—it’s still the fifteenth.”
Xie Yunchu: “…”
There seems to be no reason to refute.
Xie Yunchu froze in place, her thoughts muddled and her consciousness unclear. She couldn’t tell if she was dreaming or awake. The words he spoke didn’t seem like something he’d say, yet the sharp intensity she felt was undeniably real.
Wang Shuhuai leaned closer, his lips tracing from her shoulder to the front, continuing his exploration. It was as if he held her heart in his grasp, sending shivers down her body. Her calm gaze began to ripple with a faint crimson hue. From hesitant and clumsy movements to ones brimming with confidence, the cover of night and the haze of her thoughts allowed their senses to indulge without reservation.
Moonlight filtered through the tangled branches outside, casting fragmented shadows in the room. The flickering light mirrored the shimmer in Xie Yunchu’s tear-filled eyes.
Sweat and tears mingled in a hazy blur, obscuring her vision. She couldn’t see through the moment or decipher it, her focus instead captured by the sharp jawline moving boldly before her. She hadn’t even had time to process Wang Shuhuai’s changes before she was drawn into the tug of pleasure he brought. A hint of bashfulness urged her to turn away or cover herself, but her body, betraying her intentions, responded honestly, leaving her no chance to escape.
The overwhelming bliss she felt swept through her like never before, covering her entirely, leaving her flushed with a rosy hue. She felt light-headed, as though she were floating somewhere beyond the mortal world.
She wasn’t sure how she awoke. Her wet apricot eyes stared blankly at a shaft of sunlight filtering through the window lattice. The particles in the air seemed to churn as her thoughts did the same. She didn’t know when the night ended or when he had left in the morning, only vaguely recalling a sharp hiss of pain.
Wang Shuhuai had let loose for once.
Not like the Wang Shuhuai she knew.
She even wondered what his expression might have been like when his wound tore open. Too bad he hid it too well.
Xie Yunchu didn’t want to move, nor could she. Exhausted from the night before, she hadn’t even bothered to get up for a shower, fearing embarrassment if anyone noticed anything amiss. She remained sprawled lazily, her body tingling with lingering sensations. What frustrated her most wasn’t the exertion but the teasing touches, the traces stubbornly clinging to her memory and body.
That man… When did he learn such tormenting tricks?
She cursed him silently.
Eventually, unable to stall any longer, Chun Qi entered to call her up. After a soothing bath and having her hair done, she drank a bowl of bird’s nest porridge to settle herself before asking about Wang Shuhuai.
“When did the Second Young Master leave?”
Chun Qi replied, “He left at dawn.” Last night, Mama Lin had stood watch, and Chun Qi had taken over in the morning. Though she suspected what had transpired, she didn’t know the details.
Xie Yunchu asked cryptically, “Did he seem… unusual when he left?”
Chun Qi blinked in confusion. What would count as unusual?
His expression seemed cheerful, even tinged with satisfaction as he left—was that unusual? But Chun Qi dared not say that aloud. She shook her head. “No, nothing unusual.”
Xie Yunchu felt puzzled. She was sure she’d heard him express pain, and his wound must have reopened. How could he have endured it so well? Hypocrite.
Chun Qi noticed her pursing her lips and suggested, “The Master is in the study today. If you’re worried, you could ask him yourself?”
“I won’t.” Xie Yunchu rose to check on her child.
As usual, she carried her daughter to the Ninghe Hall for morning greetings. When she arrived, Wang Shuhuai was already inside. From the moment she entered, his gaze rested on her. The crabapple-red dress she wore accentuated her fair complexion, lending her an even more radiant charm. In the past, he’d always thought of her as dignified and composed, but today, for some reason, his eyes lingered on the beauty mark at the corner of her eye and the flirtatious sway of her dress ribbons in the breeze. Every detail brimmed with allure.
Realizing his thoughts were straying, Wang Shuhuai reined them in and shifted his gaze away.
Xie Yunchu noticed his presence but paid him little attention. But he could tell that she was having trouble, and so he reached out to take the child from her arms. Madame Jiang, seated above, immediately frowned.
“Huai’er, you’re still injured. Let her mother carry her, or give her to the wet nurse.”
Xie Yunchu slowly curtsied, a cold smile hidden in her heart. So protective of her son. If only she knew what her oh-so-dignified son had done last night—what expression would she have then?
Suppressing a few silent jabs, Xie Yunchu said nothing and seated herself beside Wang Shuhuai.
Thankfully, Wang Shuhuai ignored Madam Jiang’s comment entirely, responding coolly, “I’m fine.”
Ke-jie’er, brimming with energy, stood bouncing on her father’s lap. Clearly, her father’s arms felt more secure and spacious than her mother’s. Feeling safe, she grew even more energetic.
Madam Jiang looked on with a headache and glanced toward her husband. The Second Master, however, didn’t seem to mind, smiling as he remarked, “This spirited little one—who could she take after?”
Both Wang Shuhuai and Xie Yunchu were quiet-natured.
Dou Keling, holding Xuan Ge’er nearby, chimed in with a smile, “Perhaps my second sister-in-law was lively in her youth.”
