Taoist Master and the Cat - Chapter 15
September 1st was a big day.
Su Miaomiao and Xie Jingyuan were going to kindergarten!
As Su Mingan was his own boss, he could be late for work, while Tang Shiwei worked overtime in advance, and deliberately spared the morning of the 1st just to send her daughter to kindergarten.
At 5:30 in the morning, Tang Shiwei and Su Mingan woke up almost at the same time. The child was going to school on the first day, and the couple were a little anxious.
“What if Miaomiao gets bullied?”
“In her kindergarten, they give a big pot of rice, and it is definitely not as delicious as home-cooked food.”
The young parents talked to each other, and comforted themselves after anxiety.
The couple got up at 6:30. Su Mingan went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast, and Tang Shiwei quietly pushed open the door of the second bedroom. Seeing her daughter sleeping soundly, she stared silently for a minute, and then quietly closed the door.
At seven o’clock, breakfast was ready. Tang Shiwei went to see her daughter again, but she was still asleep.
Su Mingan said cruelly, “Wake up, you have to go kindergarten. We must develop a good habit of going to bed early and waking up early.”
Tang Shiwei: “Huh, I’m not as cruel as you.”
Su Mingan: …
A few minutes later, Su Miaomiao was woken up by her cruel father. She didn’t feel like getting up, so she was very lazy.
Su Mingan and Tang Shiwei worked together to wash and dress their daughter, and when Su Miaomiao sat at the dining table, she was completely awake.
Su Mingan accompanied his daughter to eat. Tang Shiwei opened the door, wanting to see the situation in 302 next door. Before knocking on the door, Grandma Tao opened the door and came out. Xie Jingyuan walked behind, carrying a small black school bag, fully dressed with a clean and handsome face, and a steady temperament, very similar to a senior elementary school student.
“Good morning, Miaomiao is still eating.”
Grandma Tao and Xie Jingyuan came to 301 and waited.
Su Mingan was full of expectations about Xie Jingyuan, so he gave various instructions, “Jing Yuan, you’re a man. lf someone bullies Miao Miao, you can call the teacher to help Miao Miao, okay?”
Xie Jingyuan looked at Su Miaomiao who was still eating, and nodded.
Grandma Tao: “Don’t worry, I’ve told Jing Yuan that he is the older brother, so he will definitely take care of his younger sister.”
Xie Jingyuan was caught between the two of them, and wanted to say that Su Miaomiao was not as weak and well-behaved as they thought, and it was more likely that she would bully others.
At half past seven, the three adults and the two children went downstairs.
The kindergarten was located on the edge of a nearby community, and it had only been opened for five years. The facilities inside were very new, and the teachers were all professional kindergarten graduates with experience.
The two chose the kindergarten mainly for the convenience of pick-up and drop-off due to the short distance.
Parents brought their children to the kindergarten one after another. The children in the middle class and the senior class were talking and laughing. The ones who showed nervousness or started to cry were the new students in the primary class that year.
Su Miaomiao looked around curiously, while Xie Jingyuan looked indifferent. No matter what kind of reaction they had, they both stood out among that year’s freshmen.
To take care of the emotions of the new students, parents could send the children to the classroom to familiarize themselves with it for a while before leaving.
Xie Jingyuan and Su Miaomiao were assigned to the second classroom.
There were four solid wood desks in the bright classroom, and six small chairs surrounded each desk, three on each side.
Parents assisted their children to pick a table.
Xie Jingyuan looked at Su Miaomiao.
She picked a desk near the window, and also chose the seat closest to the window, so that she could bask in the sun.
She had always liked to bask in the sun, and practicing could improve her physique in all aspects. Her skin got white and tender, and no matter how much sun exposure she would have, her skin would not turn dark.
Xie Jingyuan sat next to her.
The two sat down obediently.
Su Mingan, Tang Shiwei, and Grandma Tao looked at each other.
The other children were crying and clasping the hands of their parents, and grandparents tightly, but the two of them gave no such troubles at all. Even because the children were so obedient, it seemed that it was unnecessary for them to stay there.
While they were embarrassed, other parents were envious, pointing at Xie Jingyuan and Su Miaomiao to coax their children.
“Look, the little brother and sister over there are not crying, so don’t cry either, okay?”
“Oh… I want to go home!”
The cries kept coming and going, and it was noisy for Su Miaomiao, so she shouted unhappily, “Don’t cry anymore!”
The girl with a sweet and well-behaved appearance lost her temper, which frightened Su Mingan. Was his daughter so fierce?
With that shout, the crying in the classroom really stopped, but before Su Miaomiao was satisfied, the children started crying again.
She covered her ears angrily.
Xie Jingyuan looked at her and said to them, “Go back, Miaomiao and I will take care of ourselves.”
Those words were not something ordinary three-year-olds could say.
Grandma Tao trusted her grandson very much, and Tang Shiwei and Su Mingan felt that there was nothing wrong with it, so the three left the kindergarten together.
Su Miaomiao’s table still lacked four classmates.
There were also other quieter children who were brought there by the parents. They were three little girls and a little boy.
The boy’s name was Lin Xi, and the girls were Zhou Yao, Cheng Yue, and Feng Xiaoyu.
Lin Xi was fair and clean, his temperament was somewhat similar to Xie Jinyuan, but he was more reserved, not as calm as Xie Jingyuan.
He sat in the empty seat next to Xie Jingyuan, and the three little girls sat opposite.
Su Miaomiao looked at each of them, and lay down on the table to go to sleep as she had no interest in them.
“Brother, my name is Cheng Yue, what’s your name?”
Cheng Yue was lively and enthusiastic, and took the initiative to talk to Xie Jingyuan.
