Reborn Lady - Chapter 84
The paper used on the lanterns were very thin. Yin Hui wanted to go back home because she was worried about being knocked over.
Wei Luo imagined that he would accompany her to enjoy the lantern festival for half an hour, but it had only been about a quarter of an hour since he got out of the carriage.
If she really didn’t want to roam, they could go back early, but Wei Luo could tell that she was very happy out.
“Let’s walk around,” Wei Luo took the two lamps in her hand and said while looking at the front.
Yin Hui thought that he wanted to go buy stuff by himself, so she had to accompany him. Anyway, he avoided people so quickly and accurately, and he would definitely be able to protect the two lamps. The bright moon in the sky was as smooth as a white jade plate, and the lanterns on the street shone different colors.
Yin Hui admired everything around her almost greedily.
That Lantern Festival was not as boring as she had guessed. Among other things, she hadn’t walked around the streets freely for a long time. That kind of freedom alone made her linger, wishing she would never have to step into King Yan’s palace again for the rest of her life.
If she went back two years earlier, Yin Hui may give up the chance to marry Wei Luo to Yin Rong, and even the honor of being a princess was not as good as freedom.
The only thing that might make her reluctant was really only Xiao Heng.
Wei Luo noticed that her footsteps had slowed down, and it was almost time, so he said, “Let’s go back.”
Yin Hui nodded.
The two turned around and went back the same way. They passed through many figures, and when they walked out of the market, it got dark, blocking the hustle and bustle behind them.
Two pigeon lamps illuminated a path.
Thinking of her son, Yin Hui completely put those unrealistic thoughts behind her, and said to Wei Luo, “I don’t know if Xiao Heng is asleep. If he is not asleep, let’s hang these two lamps under the eaves of the porch and take him out to see. He must like it.”
Wei Luo looked at her and said, “When you bought the lamps, you were thinking of Xiao Heng?”
Yin Hui: “Yes, he likes these things that can shine the most.”
Wei Luo stopped talking.
Chang Feng stood guard at the entrance of the alley where they parked, and when he saw the masters, he signalled the driver to pull the carriage out to meet the two of them.
Yin Hui got into the carriage first, then turned around to pick up the lamps in Wei Luo’s hand, and accidentally touched the back of his hand, which was icy cold.
Yin Hui suddenly realized that she could still tuck her hands into her sleeves when she was walking on the street, but Wei Luo was holding the lamps, so his hands were always exposed to the cold.
When Wei Luo came up, took off his mask and sat down, Yin Hui hurriedly handed him a Tang Pozi, which was still warm.
Wei Hao didn’t want it.
As a man, he didn’t want to use those things very often. Yin Hui secretly slandered, then sat down next to him, pulled his hands into hers, let him hold the small hand stove, and wrapped his hands outside.
In any case, she was holding it.
Wei Luo glanced at her, then suddenly hugged her onto his lap, and put his hands through the cloak around her waist. She was wearing a fox fur jacket underneath. Holding her tightly, his hands would soon warm up.
Yin Hui understood that he was using her as a heater.
Back in Chengxin Hall, Xiao Heng had already slept. Yin Hui asked the maid to hang two lamps outside the room, so he would be able to see tham after waking up the next morning.
Wei Luo was outside the main house, and after realizing that Xiao Heng would not come out, he went in first.
After rinsing her mouth, face and feet, as soon as the maids retreated, Wei Luo entered her bed.
Early the next morning, King Yan and his son started working again. Yin Hui teased her son and continued to copy books in the study.
The original books had been sent back to her natal family, and the ones that Wei Luo copied were given to King Yan. She was asked to make another copy for him to read, as King Yan must not borrow books from his son.
Just after copying two pages, Jinzhan came to report that Ji Xianxian had come, bringing Si Lang and Xiao Zhuang with her.
Yin Hui had no choice but to go to the pavilion to entertain guests.
Ji Xianxian smiled when she saw her and said, “Second Master told me to take Si Lang out for more walks. Wu Lang is younger, so I came to bother his younger sibling.”
Ji Xianxian who usually liked to pick on things always smiled on seeing everyone. Yin Hui could only maintain a superficial politeness with her.
She looked at the two children on the couch again.
Xiao Zhuang was only a few months old, so she could only lie there and look around. Si Lang’s body had become stronger and his energy was beginning to show. He walked up and down on the couch. Maybe he had been ill for a long time. Si Lang’s complexion was always yellow, and he looked more like Concubine Liu, who had a good voice but no beauty. So he was not as likable as the other young boys in the palace.
Yin Hui ordered Jinzhan, “Ask the wet nurse to bring Wu Lang over.”
Jinzhan went out to pass on the message.
Yin Hui asked Ji Xianxian to sit on the couch and talk, and the maids had already prepared tea and cakes.
Ji Xianxian looked at Yin Hui while knocking on the melon seeds and teased, “Did the third master accompany you out to enjoy the lanterns last night?”
Yin Hui said calmly, “We went back to my natal house and went to the lantern festival on our way. But it was too cold, so we didn’t stay out for a long time.”
Ji Xianxian: “That’s quite unusual. I heard from my second sister that the third master is the least lively. The brothers and sisters grew up together. The third master did not participate in any lantern festival or temple fair. You really made the third master go out with you?”
Yin Hui said with a smile, “Probably the third master himself was more interested last night, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to persuade him.”
In those ten years, every time the sisters-in-laws mentioned her husband at the gathering, Yin Hui would secretly enjoy Ji Xianxian and others’ envious eyes since he didn’t have a concubine on his side.
