In April, the people sent out by King Yan brought Yuan Daoqing, who was quite famous in the local area, back from Hejian Mansion.

Yin Hui didn’t know how Yuan Daoqing treated King Yan. Anyway, he was cured, and since then he stayed in King Yan’s mansion to work, and took his whole family to Pingcheng.

Yin Hui had no intention of going to King Yan to ask for credit, but if he got cured as soon as possible, he would be in a good mood, and Xiao Heng’s first birthday banquet could be held.

All his little brothers had a big celebration, so her son must also have one.

In the evening, everyone in the Yin family had dinner at the same table. Yin Hui unexpectedly discovered that Yin Jingshan and Mrs. Zhao regained their hypocritical smiles.

Yin Hui looked at Yin Wen, who noticed it, and smiled at her with warm eyes, like a good brother.

Yin Hui knew that Yin Wen must have used some method to stabilize his parents.

It didn’t matter, as she made preparations in advance, no matter what conspiracy Yin Wen had.

The next morning, under the witness of several elders of the Yin family, Yin Lang’s name was officially entered into the genealogy as he became the heir of the eldest son of the Yin family.

After lunch, Yin Hui went to Zangshu Pavilion with her grandfather.

The elderly steward stood sentry at the entrance, while the glazed windows bathed the interior in gentle sunlight, creating an atmosphere of tranquility within the library.

There was a desk by the window on the second floor. Yin Hui asked her grandfather to sit first. She walked back and forth among the rows of bookshelves, and finally came over with five books in her hands.

“Grandfather, I want to take these books to the palace to read. I’ll return them after I finish reading them. Can I take them?”

Yin Yong glanced at the covers of several books.

“Do you want to read it, or does the third master want to read it?” Yin Yong teased.

Yin Hui smirked, remarking, “He wants to read it, but he is a dignified grandson. How can he ask to borrow books from our house?”

Yin Yong said with a smile, “So you want to borrow it for him? Our Ah Hui is really considerate.”

Yin Hui was not really considerate of Wei Luo. But because he was the head of the family, in the future, she would always need his help. If she treated him better, she would only have to open her mouth when she wanted to use him, otherwise if she got as cold as Wei Luo, would he be willing to help?

“Take them, it doesn’t matter if you don’t return them. It’s kind of wasteful to put such good books in a merchant’s house,” Yin Yong touched the covers of those books and said with emotion in a low voice.

No matter how rich a family was, there would be a day of decline. The silver and treasures accumulated by the ancestors would be scattered by the children and grandchildren sooner or later. It would always only belong to a family with one surname, so why not give it to someone who was destined while he could still be the master?

But Yin Hui snorted, “He didn’t even call you grandfather, why should he get it easily? At worst, I will copy every book for him. The only real copy will still be ours.”

“Why are you so angry about that? He calls you Ah Hui, which sounds better than calling me grandfather.”

Yin Hui sneered in her heart.

In private, Wei Luo never called her by her nickname, and usually spoke directly, and when he talked to her maid, he used madam instead. In front of the second uncle and others, Wei Luo just copied her grandfather to call “Ah Hui” twice, just to give her the dignity she deserved, so as to avoid outsiders from suspecting that the relationship between the two of them was not cold.

“Don’t mention him. Grandfather, Brother Lang is now my natal brother. For my sake, you should mention him more at ordinary times. If my business encounters any trouble in the future, I can still ask Brother Lang to help me.”

“Well, I know. So don’t worry about it, go back early, don’t let the third master worry about you.”

Yin Hui stayed at her natal house for a night for the first time and solved two major issues. Satisfied, she took the five books and returned to the palace.

It was during the mid-afternoon break that the palace was quiet everywhere.

In Chengxin Hall, An Shun’er was waiting outside the door of the study. When he saw them, he saluted from a distance, and then said to the inside of the study, “Master, Madam is back.”

Yin Hui stood there for a while, thinking that hearing the announcement, Wei Luo could come out, and the two of them could talk.

Who knew, there was no movement in the study.

Yin Hui snorted lightly and led Jinzhan toward the backyard.

In the study room, Wei Luo continued to read the book for a quarter of an hour. Guessing that she should have washed up and lay on the bed to rest for a while, he went to the backyard leisurely.

Jinzhan and Yinzhan lay dozing on the table in the hall, when they heard the sound of footsteps, they got up hurriedly, went out to greet the man, and saluted him together, “Third Master.”

When he arrived at the inner room, he saw the gauze curtain hanging down in front of the bed. Wei Luo did not doubt that she was not there, so he took off his outer robe standing in front of the screen.

When he lifted the gauze curtain, he was shocked to find that there were only two neatly made quilts on the bed.

Wei Luo pursed his lips, sat on the edge of the bed, and rang the bell.

Jinzhan and Yinzhan ran in in a panic.

The gauze curtain blurred the third master’s face, only the third master’s cold voice came over,  “Where is Madam?”

Jinzhan said tremblingly, “Madam is in the study.”

Wei Luo: “Why didn’t you tell me?”

Jinzhan was so frightened that she didn’t dare say anything. Yinzhan swallowed her saliva, knelt down and said, “Master, Madam told us that if you don’t ask, we are not allowed to talk too much.”

Wei Luo was silent for a moment and then asked them to retreat.

Jinzhan and Yinzhan left quickly, relieved.

Not daring to take a nap, the two kept looking nervously at the door of the inner room, as if there was a tiger living inside, which made them fearful.

Not long after, the tiger, no, the third master came out, dressed in neat clothes, and went to the study in the backyard with no expression on his face.

The two servant girls peeked behind the door.

Jinzhan: “Madam deliberately did that. Do you think he will punish her?”

Yinzhan was so panicked that she couldn’t speak. Her mind was full of pitiful images of her madam kneeling, weeping and begging for mercy.

The author has something to say:

Huihui: You think of me too unpromisingly.

Yinzhan: Then did you kneel down?

Huihui: …Forget it, even if I tell you, you won’t understand.
