Reborn Lady - Chapter 53
Unexpectedly, Wei Luo still got into her bed.
Yin Hui thought for a while and then said, “I went to pay my respects to the princess this morning. She asked when you will come back, and felt sorry for you working hard outside. She told me to prepare two maids for you next time to serve you. Then, I will teach the two servant girls. When you go out next time, why don’t you just take them with you?”
Wei Luo: “No, I don’t need them.”
He said so, but Yin Hui touched his hand and felt that he needed it very much.
After a moment of silence, she whispered, “You don’t need it, but I am afraid that the princess will misunderstand that I am jealous, and didn’t allow you to use maids.”
Wei Luo paused, “Then buy two and arrange them in the side room until I travel far away. If the princess asks again, you will say that I don’t want to take the burden on the road.”
Yin Hui had nothing to say anymore. Relying on the darkness to cover up, she looked at the indifferent line of his chin with complicated eyes.
According to Wei Luo’s performance in those ten years, he really didn’t like to use maids. Jinzhan and others were familiar enough, and they were all pretty, but Wei Luo never looked at them more than once.
Wei Yang’s Concubine Meng was so beautiful, and the other seven singers who came to the capital to serve the brothers were also beautiful, but Wei Luo was still indifferent to them.
After rejecting so many opportunities to take concubines and ignoring so many beauties, he was willing to take a widowed Wen Ruyue as his concubine.
Therefore, Wei Luo still had feelings for Wen Ruyue. If she, Yin Hui, hadn’t married Wei Luo as a wife because of King Yan’s order, she would lose her status as his wife, and even if someone knocked her unconscious and sent her to him, Wei Luo would never touch her.
“It’s uncomfortable, don’t make trouble with me,” Yin Hui said in a discussing tone.
Wei Luo moved his hand away, frowning slightly.
She never complained about being uncomfortable in front of him. Even on the wedding night, she shed tears but didn’t say a word.
Yin Hui turned over and lay with her back facing him, and pretended to kick his calf unintentionally, reminding him to go to his bed.
The reminder was very effective, Wei Luo lifted the quilt and went out, and even helped her cover fix the quilt for her.
Yin Hui opened her eyes but couldn’t fall asleep for a while. Not wanting to recall some troublesome past events, Yin Hui turned to thinking about Uncle Zhou.
It would be the seventh day of the winter month soon, and she hoped Uncle Zhou could find out some useful information. Otherwise, she really didn’t know how to dissuade Wei Luo from competing with Feng Teng.
If she told him directly, could Wei Luo believe it? Even if he believed it, would he still dare to treat her as a normal wife? If he found a reason to divorce her, Yin Hui would suffer a lot.
For her son, and for the two million taels of silver that the Yin family paid in, Yin Hui would not give Wei Luo a chance to divorce her.
Because she got Wei Luo’s approval in advance, she knew that it was okay for her to go out once a month. At least Wei Luo didn’t think it was a violation of the rules. On the seventh day, Yin Hui went to Jinxiu again.
Uncle Zhou had come over early. It was cold, and Liu Manniang, the storekeeper of Jinxiu, prepared a brand new small copper stove for Yin Hui, and brought tea herself, and then she withdrew.
Yin Hui held the hand stove and looked at Uncle Zhou expectantly.
Uncle Zhou sighed, “The errand entrusted to me by you was really difficult. Mr. Feng Teng has been obsessed with martial arts since he was a child. He almost grew up in the barracks with Commander Feng. The soldiers in the barracks obey him and never say anything. Even when Mr. Feng left the barracks, he made friends with martial artists when he went out. He never quarreled or even had a dispute with others. If the third master is on good terms with him, you don’t have to worry about it. Mr. Feng has a good character.”
Yin Hui had never met Feng Teng before, but after hearing Uncle Zhou’s words, a tall, strong, handsome young military officer appeared in her mind.
If Feng Teng had nothing, how could she persuade Wei Luo?
She couldn’t hide her disappointment.
When Uncle Zhou saw it, he was surprised and said, “Madam, do you want to hear more about Mr. Feng?”
Yin Hui nodded.
Uncle Zhou hesitated for a moment, coughed, and then said, “Actually, Mr. Feng is good at everything, he is twenty years old, but he still refuses to get married, which makes his mother worry. Just last year, a swordsman came to Pingcheng. After Feng Teng heard about it, he insisted on going to compete with that swordsman. The swordsman knew that he was the young master of the official family, so he refused repeatedly. Feng Teng actually stayed in the courtyard where the swordsman stayed and refused to leave.”
“After it got dark, the people who watched the excitement dispersed, and no one knew whether the two had a contest or not, but the next day, someone found Mr. Feng sleeping in the same bed as the swordsman. So it was rumored that Mr. Feng was homosexual.”
Speaking of it, Uncle Zhou glanced at Yin Hui quickly, wondering if she knew what homosexual was.
Yin Hui understood, and said in surprise, “Is it just a rumor or is it true?”
Uncle Zhou stroked his beard and said, “Later, Mr. Feng Teng also heard the rumor and was very upset. He explained that he was fighting with the swordsman that night. Now, no matter the outcome, the two cherished each other and became friends. They drank wine, and when he was drunk, he slept directly in the swordsman’s room. He couldn’t run home drunk and be scolded by his father. In order to prove that he doesn’t have that habit, Mr. Feng Teng also started going on blind dates, but he hasn’t set his sights on any girl.”
Yin Hui thought for a moment, then smiled suddenly, and said to Uncle Zhou, “Okay, let’s not mention him. I have a few doubts about the account, please tell me.”
Uncle Zhou looked at her playful smile, and had an inexplicable feeling that Mr. Feng Teng might be plotted by her.
Her grandfather was not in Pingcheng at that time, so after Yin Hui left Jinxiu, she went to Liao Qiuniang’s store.

Considering she’s been reborn, it’s like she lived in vain cos why is she still so timid and inconsistent in her actions. Dare I say she looks like a fool?!!

I’m supposed to comment on one of the chapters but I don’t want to go back just for it.
The FL was supposed to be skilled in martial arta but how come that she can’t even fight against the grip of a second sister-in-law? Isn’t it ironic?
