- Chapter 431 - Extra 2 Story: Wei Luo Chasing His Wife (Wu Luo + Yin Hui time travelled back together)
Though Yin Hui didn’t want his help, Wei Luo snatched the rings from her hand and threw it twice seemingly casually, hitting a small silver pig and a satin sachet respectively.
After casting, Wei Luo approached Yin Hui, but she turned her head and left as if she no longer cared about those two items.
The stall owner had already noted that the two were affluent and assumed one would chase after the other if a quarrel arose. However, he didn’t expect Wei Luo to stand there coldly.
The stall owner had no choice but to quickly pick up the two items and hand them to Wei Luo.
Wei Luo accepted the items and then went after Yin Hui.
Yin Hui stopped in front of a stall selling skewers.
Didn’t Wei Luo swear that he would marry her? That day, she would do all the things that a proper lady would not do, just to see if he could bear it.
After queuing up and ordering ten mutton skewers, Yin Hui continued shopping while eating the skewers.
There was a juggling booth ahead, surrounded by people watching a brawny, shirtless man breathing fire from his mouth.
Yin Hui squeezed in.
Almost as soon as she stood firm, someone pressed against her from behind.
Yin Hui frowned and looked back, finding Wei Luo.
She moved to the side, but Wei Luo held her shoulders directly, keeping her in front of him.
Yin Hui understood that Wei Luo was afraid someone might take advantage of her in the crowded space, and that he wanted to ensure her safety while they enjoyed the show. So, she didn’t pay much attention to him.
As the fire-breathing burly man approached with a torch in hand, his bronzed chest visible, Yin Hui glanced at Wei Luo again, noticing his tightly pursed thin lips.
Yin Hui smiled and said, “This man is so strong. Do you want to take him back and introduce him to…Uncle?”
Wei Luo observed her mischievous smile, then glanced at the fire-breathing brawny man. He thought about how, at thirty, he himself had been similarly strong, but now, at nineteen, while tall and muscular, he still felt lacking.
Among the spectators, many middle-aged women gazed at the brawny man’s chest, their expressions mimicking his older brother’s when he admired a singer.
Wei Luo looked back at Yin Hui, who was genuinely fascinated by the raging flames, and decided not to pull her away.
After watching enough juggling, as they left, Yin Hui shook off Wei Luo’s hand, took a few steps forward, and widened the distance between them once again.
Wei Luo’s gaze remained fixed on her.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Wei Ying, who had gone to the temple fair with the four siblings of the Guo family, spotted her third brother and approached with a smile, “Third Brother, weren’t you supposed to go for a horse race with Father? What brings you here to the fair?”
As Wei Ying spoke, she scanned the crowd expectantly, assuming her father and the other brothers had also come.
Her misunderstanding wasn’t unfounded, considering her perception of her third brother. It seemed unlikely to her that he would venture out to a temple fair alone. In the entire Yan Palace, anyone could do such a thing, except him.
Wei Luo had no choice but to entertain his third sister.
Given his third sister’s past bitterness, Wei Luo felt more patient with her. If it had been the Second Sister, Wei Shan, he might have just nodded and walked away.
Unexpectedly, after Wei Luo explained in just a few sentences, he looked up to see two tall figures beside Yin Hui, both familiar. One was Guo Yuan, the second son of the Guo family, and the other was the third son, Guo Jin.
Guo Liao, the eldest son of the Guo family, and Guo Suying, the younger sister, followed Wei Ying and stood beside Wei Luo.
Following Wei Luo’s gaze, Guo Suying also noticed the scene and remarked, “Is that the Second Lady of the Yin family? We met her on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival. It seems that my brothers can’t forget Miss Yin.”
As she spoke, Guo Suying teasingly looked at her eldest brother, Guo Liao. She remembered how the three brothers had been captivated by the Second Lady of the Yin family that night.
Just as Wei Ying was about to praise the beauty of the Second Lady of the Yin family, her third brother unexpectedly walked forward with a sullen face.
Yin Hui stood in front of a fortune-telling booth, observing a white-bearded Taoist telling a woman’s fortune.
Guo Yuan and Guo Jin approached her, with one dismissing the fortune teller as a fraud and the other enthusiastically asking what she wanted to check. Their contrasting attitudes irritated the old man with the white beard, leaving him unable to even smile.
Yin Hui often attracted attention from young men, but she sensed that these two were genuinely interested and not simply frivolous. She found them rather pleasant.
She continued listening to the old man’s numerology reading for the woman, responding absent-mindedly to the two men.
Suddenly, the young man standing on her right unexpectedly called out, “Third Master.”
Yin Hui turned her head and saw Wei Luo, along with a man and two women behind him.
Although Yin Hui had never met the three Guo brothers in her previous life, she recognized Wei Ying and Guo Suying.
Wei Ying was her sister-in-law, and Guo Suying had attended the Flower Fair and had a feast at the Yan Palace.
“Sister Yin, are my brothers noisier than frogs?” Guo Suying teased her brothers unceremoniously.
Guo Yuan flicked the top of her head and retorted, “Who are you calling frogs?”
Wei Ying looked at Yin Hui with a smile, waiting for her cousin to make introductions. However, before Guo Suying could speak, Wei Luo unexpectedly walked up to Yin Hui.
This action revealed that Wei Luo was acquainted with Yin Hui.
Wei Ying and the four siblings from the Guo family were stunned by this revelation.
After Wei Luo made the introductions, he didn’t introduce Yin Hui in return. Instead, he simply held Yin Hui’s wrist and said to Wei Ying, “Go shop. We’ll be on our way.”
With that, he applied a bit of force to his grip, pulling the stunned Yin Hui along as he turned and walked ahead.
Guo Liao was the first to react, shaking his head and laughing. He couldn’t believe that such a beautiful girl was already betrothed to the Third Master.
Guo Jin continued to protest, asking, “What does the Third Master mean by this?”
Wei Ying chuckled and reassured him, saying, “What he means is that she’s his future wife, so there’s no need to worry about it anymore!”
If it had been the Second Brother, it might have been just a momentary flirtation with the girl outside. But the Third Brother’s actions indicated seriousness.
