“Mother, do you think Madam Yin has changed?” Wei Luo asked suddenly.

Mrs. Wen was stunned for a while before realizing who her son was talking about, and persuaded her son first, “You can call her Ah Hui, Madam Yini sounds strange coming from her husband.”

Wei Luo was noncommittal.

Mrs. Wen began to think about her son’s question, pondered for a moment, and smiled, “Ah Hui seems to be more cheerful than before, and took the initiative to explain a painting to me, um, she was also very courageous, and dared to send a maid out of the house to buy me buns. This child is really filial, beautiful and talented, you have to treat her well.”

Wei Luo: “She explained a painting to you?”

Mrs. Wen smiled and asked the servant girl to take out the painting of autumn chrysanthemums, and asked her son to look at it, “This painting is really good, your father also likes to look at it.”

When Wei Luo saw the painting, he was silent.

Mrs. Wen saw that her son didn’t seem to be interested in appreciating the painting, so she asked her maid to hang up the painting of autumn chrysanthemums, and asked her son, “Why did you suddenly ask about Ah Hui? Don’t you like Ah Hui’s current behavior?”

Wei Luo pursed his lips. What he didn’t like was her neglect of him, as if he was just an outsider instead of her husband, and he didn’t like the irritability of not being able to figure out why she had changed.

“It’s fine, I was just asking casually.”

After finding no clues from his mother, Wei Luo was about to leave.

Mrs. Wen thought of one thing and said, “Do you remember Ah Hui’s birthday?”

Wei Luo thought for a while and then said, “Sixth of October.”

At the beginning, the two of them proposed marriage. Although it was already a certainty, the process that should be followed happened, and when they were together, he read her information and wrote down her birthday.

Mrs. Wen was relieved when her son answered correctly. Her son’s face was as cold as ice, but in fact he cared about his wife very much in his heart.

“Then don’t forget to prepare a birthday gift for Ah Hui. Although she has become a mother, she is only sixteen years old. She is still a girl at heart. Please coax her more.”

Wei Luo nodded perfunctorily and left.

On her birthday the previous year, he was busy with errands, and he suddenly remembered it after a certain day. But it had already passed, and she didn’t seem to remember it, so Wei Luo didn’t give her any gifts.

If his mother hadn’t reminded him, he probably wouldn’t have remembered, just like he would never have deliberately remembered to celebrate his own birthday.

Then he went to the studying hall to see the fourth and fifth child studying. It was almost noon before Wei Luo returned to Chengxin hall.

After he walked all morning, Yin Hui didn’t ask him where he went. She asked that kind of question too many times in her previous life, but Wei Luo was always unwilling to answer, so why ask again?!

She was not curious anymore.

When lunch was served, Wei Luo was still sitting alone on one side, and Yin Hui was sitting on the other side near the wet nurse, with Xiao Heng in between.

A while ago, Yin Hui asked a carpenter to make a chair for Xiao Heng, with a backrest at the back and a tray for food in the front, so that it would be convenient for adults to feed him. He could also practice eating on his own early.

The chair was covered with satin cushions. No matter how much Xiao Heng patted it and played, there was no danger of scratching his fingers.

“Where did you buy this chair?” Wei Luo rarely spoke while eating.

Yin Hui glanced at him and said, “I came up with this on a whim, what do you think?”

Wei Luo: “It’s a bit dangerous, don’t let him sit on it by himself, or he will fall.”

Yin Hui wanted to explain that there were straps underneath. Seeing him bowing his head to eat, she swallowed back her words and looked at the wet nurse.

The wet nurse immediately stood up, bent over and assured Wei Luo that she would stay by the little master’s side every step of the way.

Wei Luo responded lightly.

Xiao Heng was in a hurry to eat. So he yelled at the wet nurse, who quickly sat down again and fed him with a spoon of mashed sweet potatoes that had been boiled into porridge.

After one spoonful, the corners of Xiao Heng’s mouth were stained with golden-red paste.

Even so, Yin Hui still thought her son was pretty and cute. During a meal, she hardly took her eyes off her son except for picking up food for herself.

Wei Luo put down his chopsticks and went to the study.

But in the evening, he didn’t leave after dinner. He played with Xiao Heng for a while, and when the wet nurse took him away, he went straight to the inner room.

After the maid combed her hair, Yin Hui leaned on the bed and read a book.

The maids brought water for washing the feet, and the husband and wife sat side by side by the bed and asked the maids to serve them.

From the beginning to the end, no one took the initiative to speak.

Wei Luo said very little, and since Yin Hui had calmed down, she had nothing to say to him.

The masters had their own thoughts. Both Jinzhan and Yinzhan noticed that something was wrong with their madam. In the past, she would first serve the third master respectfully, and then try to find something to say. But the third master was still the cold third master. Although she was not cold, she didn’t  seem to like to talk to the third master anymore, and she had lost that respect. Even after washing her feet, she went straight to the bed and lay down.

After stepping back, Jinzhan couldn’t help but quietly ask Yinzhan, “Did the madam and the third master quarrel?”

Yinzhan shook her head subconsciously: “How is that possible?” How could the madam dare to quarrel with the third master? There couldn’t be any quarrel. As long as the third master frowned, she would get so afraid that she would admit her mistake.

Jinzhan: “But don’t you feel that Madam is different in front of the third master?”

Yinzhan was silent. She felt that her master had become the second young lady of the Yin family again, doing things her own way without looking at anyone’s face.

She liked such a lady.
