Reborn Lady - Chapter 250
Wei Luo couldn’t forget the bullying from his second brother and the silent frustration from his eldest brother. He always remembered Wei Jin’s protection.
He shared more about Wei Jin’s situation with his wife, stating, “During the Emperor’s revolt, the Zhao family faced court sanctions. They directed their anger towards the elder sister, treating her disrespectfully. She took the children and moved to the Princess Mansion. The Zhao family sought to curry favor with Wei Jin, leading her husband, Zhao Mao, to abandon his family and follow her to the Princess Mansion. Wei Jin accepted him for the sake of the children, but it was clear that from then on, Zhao Mao could only humbly exist before Wei Jin, never again able to stand tall.”
Yin Hui snorted softly, saying, “The Zhao family deserves it. If I were the eldest sister, I would have divorced my husband, forbidding him from entering the house!”
Wei Luo responded, “If the eldest sister had really divorced, outsiders would accuse her of bullying.”
When the Emperor ascended the throne, the whole family indeed felt proud, but they must be more cautious in their words and deeds, and not fall into the trap of being domineering and bullying.
Their family knew that it was the Zhao family who bullied the elder sister first, but the officials and people outside did not know the inside story. If it spread, they would only criticize the eldest princess for being domineering and the father for pampering his daughter.
Yin Hui remarked, “I know; I’m just angry for the eldest sister, not to mention that she was also a prince’s daughter before. Just because the eldest sister gave him three children, and the relationship between husband and wife for more than ten years, Zhao Mao shouldn’t have given her any trouble. This kind of villain is really not worthy of being a husband, let alone being a father.”
Gritting her teeth, she seemed to share the same sentiment. Wei Luo thought that perhaps women could understand women’s difficulties better.
“Things are over. When you see your eldest sister-in-law and brother-in-law in the future, get along as usual and don’t show it. Staring at Zhao Mao won’t make Wei Jin comfortable thinking about the past.”
Yin Hui assured, “Don’t worry, I’m not that stupid.”
Glancing back at the map in her hand, Yin Hui suddenly smiled.
Wei Luo asked, “What are you smiling at?”
“Father is very interesting, the three princesses are near their brothers,” Yin Hui remarked.
Wei Luo had noticed this long ago. Wei Luo pressed the corner of her lips with his fingertips and whispered, “It’s to encourage interaction between brothers and sisters, so don’t mention it again in the future.”
Whenever he broached sensitive topics, he always approached them carefully, as if Yin Hui were truly unaware.
“Okay, okay, let’s not discuss others. Please tell me about our Shu Palace.”
Wei Luo took another piece of paper and outlined the layout of the Shu Palace alone.
The palace was not as grand as the princes’ palaces in other regions. It stood only one level higher than the regulations of the first-class government palace in the capital. Yet, for the couple, it was more than sufficient. Listening to Wei Luo’s low-pitched explanation and observing his serene expression, one could sense his satisfaction with his palace.
As Wei Luo looked at her, Yin Hui flashed a flattering smile, embracing his waist and saying, “I could enjoy the blessings with you and become a princess.”
No matter how reserved Wei Luo was, every man appreciates compliments and admiration from his wife.
During the fierce battles with his father, Wei Luo fought not only for himself but also for the well-being of his wife and children. He aimed for them to continue being masters instead of becoming condemned sinners in exile.
With his mother having his father and only the sleeping children in the opposite cabin and Yin Hui by his side to enjoy his blessings, Wei Luo felt content.
As the night advanced, Wei Luo set aside the pen and paper, seized Yin Hui’s hand, and gently pressed her down.
The cabin was dimly lit, creating a halo-like ambiance. Yin Hui lay on her back, gazing intently at Wei Luo’s approaching face. Perhaps due to seeing so much of his “Mr. Teacher” side, including these days, she no longer found Wei Luo cold.
In Wei Luo’s eyes, lights floated in her clear gaze. Observing her so attentively, it seemed filled with tenderness and sweetness.
When he was merely the Third Master of the Yan Palace, she admired him greatly. Now that he had ascended to the rank of prince, she continued to gaze at him with the same reverence.
“What?” Uin Hui inquired.
“Nothing,” Wei Luo replied, kissing her on the brow and speaking softly.
Yin Hui was taken aback, wondering why she felt so powerless.
Wei Luo didn’t provide an explanation and simply surrendered himself to her.
Despite the narrow confines of the cabin, the swaying hull and the nocturnal sounds of running water added a refreshing touch to the moment.
Yin Hui felt as though she had become a small ship, with Wei Luo as her shipman, guiding her on a leisurely swing forward.
