King Yan guessed who made the painting of autumn chrysanthemums without seeing the signature, and couldn’t help but scold Mr. Yin in his heart. He thought that it should be given to him. 

However, Mr. Yin always didn’t want to be too flattering to him, and he couldn’t send something too bad to Mrs. Wen. 

But it didn’t matter, the painting was with Mrs. Wen. whenever he wanted to see it, he could go and see it anytime. 

“Do you know who painted it?” When encountering a famous painting, King Yan couldn’t help but want to express his emotions, and asked her with a smile.

If Mrs. Wen was shrewd, she should pretend to be stupid and give King Yan a chance to show off, but she was not short-sighted enough, so she said happily after hearing the words, “Yes, the third daughter-in-law told me…”

King Yan nodded again. Although the third daughter-in-law was born to a merchant, she did not show off her money at all. 

“That’s right, a good painting is for people to admire. So don’t put it away, just hang it in the inner room for easy viewing,” King Yan said. 

Mrs. Wen said in worry, “This painting must be expensive, I’m afraid it will be damaged by accident.” 

Yan Wang: “You are not a child, if you don’t touch it, how could it be damaged?” 

The maid beside Mrs. Wen was still sensible. She knelt down and promised to take good care of that painting.

After chatting about the painting for so long, King Yan asked the maids to prepare water, and took Mrs. Wen to the inner room. 

The next morning, after King Yan got up, he admired the painting of autumn chrysanthemums for another quarter of an hour before leaving Jinghao Hall. 

Soon, the news that King Yan slept in Jinghao Hall also spread in the west side. 

Concubine Xu was the oldest, and she didn’t care about those things for a long time, but Concubine Li refused to accept it. When she learned that King Yan had favored Mrs. Wen, she got very angry.

Concubine Li therefore had another reason to hate Yin Hui. 

Yin Hui didn’t know that a few fish would affect the distribution of favors. When she got up early in the morning, she also made a list of her meals for the kitchen, including the cooking time of each dish.

Yin Hui and Wei Ying did not have any close contacts in her previous life.
