He thought that Chang Manjing might like it, He Weiming washed the shell and returned to the shore with it. As he walked towards Chang Manjing, He Weiming found that she was asleep. The hammock swayed slightly. The shade of the tree was imprinted on her body, the bright sun was mottled and scattered, and a few rays fell on her cheeks, it was dazzling and quiet. He Weiming’s pace became slower and lighter. He came to Chang Manjing and called her softly, but he didn’t get the slightest response. Did she treat him as a child, so she didn’t care about indulging him in such things? He Weiming frowned deeply, and the scar on his brow made him look a little cold. Therefore, no matter how smart and confident a person was in ordinary times, when facing the person they like, facing the emotions, they would be like ordinary people who constantly guess about their gains and losses.

Chang Manjing got off the hammock, stretched her hands and feet. When she was suddenly hugged from behind, she curled her lips and looked back. He Weiming’s voice was a little suppressed. He said, “Do you know what I was doing just now? How could you be so careless?”

Chang Manjing put her hand on the arm that hugged her waist, leaned back and replied slowly, “I not only know what you were doing, but also what you did to me the night before. Weiming, do you really think that a little bit of alcohol can keep me so ignorant?”

His arm tightened. Chang Manjing raised her hand and touched He Weiming’s face, and said softly, “I know. I knew it a year ago, but I was not sure because you were too young. I’m nearly thirteen years older than you, maybe it’s just a kind of attachment to relatives…”

The silent He Weiming buried his head on her neck, and his arms tightened. At that moment, his heartbeat was faster than ever. He had never thought about that possibility. Chang Manjing knew his mind. She didn’t reject him, and even liked him. It was like the night wasn’t over, and he was immersed in dreams. He Weiming matured too early. When Chang Manjing adopted him, at first, he was just very grateful to that person.

Later, he slowly understood Chang Manjing and began to respect her from the bottom of his heart, just like respecting his own teacher. Chang Manjing taught him many things, and most of the skills he knew came from her. Respect and love for her grew more. Such a beautiful, smart and attractive woman, with her gentle and caring attitude towards him, brought him out of the orphanage and gave him a new life… It seemed normal to be tempted by Chang Manjing. 

Chang Manjing taught him a lot. He knew what feelings were because of her. He Weiming couldn’t tell her how much he liked her, because even he himself didn’t know exactly how much he was full of love. For that words weren’t enough to describe it.　　

“Whether it is family affection or love, I only want you.” He Weiming leaned on Chang Manjing’s shoulder and finally said such a sentence. Although he was taller than Chang Manjing and his arms could hold her in his arms, at that moment, he showed a rare fragility because of the uncertainty in his heart, “Are you…willing to accept me?”

Chang Manjing turned and raised her face. He pursed his lips and stared at her motionlessly with his dark eyes while waiting for the answer that seemed to determine his life and death. “If I did not want to accept you, I would not be talking to you so nicely now. I will just throw you into the sea to feed the sharks.” Chang Manjing smiled and nodded. 

He Weiming’s lips curled up. There was no sunshine and cheerfulness of teenagers at that age, but it was like a beam of light that suddenly touched ancient ruins, and  made it vivid. He had always been stingy when it came to smiles. Even Chang Manjing couldn’t see it several times throughout the year. Now suddenly when she saw him smile when he looked at her, it was a little cute, and she smiled with him. But as soon as she curled her lips, He Weiming bowed her head and kissed her. Chang Manjing touched He Weiming’s wet hair and pinched his warm ears. The kiss wasn’t deep, He Weiming basically just grazed her lips, but he looked very satisfied. Chang Manjing pulled his hand and he obediently let her pull it away.

Chang Manjing’s dress was all dried, she wanted to change, and He Weiming stood there with his back facing her. Chang Manjing called him. He Weiming thought she had something to do with her. He turned around and looked at her suspiciously, but was caught off guard by Chang Manjing’s smile and sly eyes, and her snow white skin. The dress was still in her hand. He Weiming turned his head in embarrassment.

Chang Manjing, “Hahahahahahahahaha.”
