Rebirth handbook - chapter 36
The sound of music and the cheers of the crowd came from the beach in the distance. The sound wasn’t loud. In comparison, the sound of the waves was louder. It was a windy night, and the sea waves under the moonlight turned up, and a small tide came up, rolling the snow-white waves to the shore. Outside the window, the night was deep. In the window, the dimly yellow table lamp covered everything with a haze.
The person lying in bed closed her eyes, her long eyelashes casted a shadow, and her cheeks were slightly flushed after drinking. The blush was charming. There was no usual gentleness or coldness on the beautiful face, she looked quiet and harmless.
One hand landed on the rosy lips, and the thumb touched the lip flap. The owner of that hand moved the thumb nostalgic, and then leaned over and put his own lips on the slightly opened lips. The place where the lips touched was soft and moving, and there was a touch of bewildering alcohol.
When a treasure that was too precious to be abrupt and contemptuous was caught in his hand, the great satisfaction was enough to make both the heart and the brain frantic. Caressing Chang Manjing’s profile with one hand, He Weiming greedily drew the distance between himself and her. The hand stroking her cheek suddenly tightened and then relaxed, drifting between restraint and indulgence. The shirt and trousers on his body were there but they were a little messy because of his nervousness.
He Weiming took a hurried breath, waited for a while and raised his head, cherishing a kiss on Chang Manjing’s forehead. He rubbed down the slender neck with the tip of his nose, and smelled deeply as if it was the light fragrance from under the skin. The sweaty bangs drooped messily. The cold and silent eyes were like ignited flames as he stared at the person in his arms. The door to the balcony opened wide, and the salty and wet sea breeze blew in from outside, like a refreshment in hot summer, blowing Chang Manjing’s blue skirt which hung by the bed. He Weiming sat on the bed gently as he held Chang Manjing with her forehead against his head, quietly listened to her breath, connected to the gentle waves outside, like a moving lullaby. He embraced the treasure in his arms and slowly closed his eyes.
It was already dawn when Chang Manjing woke up, and the dazzling sunlight shone on the floor, reflecting the white light on the brown floor. She stretched out her hand to cover her eyes, Chang Manjing ached a little, probably because she sat up with her stiff head.
The clothes she wore last night were on her body, there were no strange marks on her body, and her body wasn’t uncomfortable. As a woman who had experienced almost everything, Chang Manjing certainly knew that He Weiming didn’t do anything to her yesterday, but… Chang Manjing showed a somewhat subtle expression.
She got up and went to the bathroom. She took off her dress and stood in front of a full-length mirror. She lifted the hair behind her back and put it aside. She pressed her aching neck, as she thought, there was a red mark on the back of the neck. It wasn’t obvious. If she was someone who didn’t know anything, she probably won’t care about it, and won’t think of that.
“He can hold back from doing it this way. Such a good boy.” Chang Manjing stroked her lips with one hand, lowered her eyes and went to the shower to wash her body. After a bath, Chang Manjing went downstairs to the lobby, and saw He Weiming who sat in the balcony with a computer in front of him. He typed earnestly. He was in long-sleeved trousers, and his expression was cold and serious.
Chang Manjing walked over and put one hand on the arm of the chair, bent down and leaned over to see what he was doing. “You got up so early just to be busy with your work? The situation in Fuji Dong is good, and the people you have chosen can manage it well. Since you are on vacation, why not take more rest?” Chang Manjing approached him, intentionally or unintentionally, smiled softly and said, “Weren’t you tired yesterday?”
He Weiming paused and took a breath. She was too close. The body of the young man couldn’t withstand the provocation. Chang Manjing saw him suddenly change his position, and then said, “Breakfast is in the kitchen.”
She went to the kitchen for breakfast. However, while drinking the porridge, Chang Manjing smiled with her tongue tingling in her mouth. A teenager at that age was really energetic. After a good day’s rest, Chang Manjing didn’t go out anymore, took a nap at noon, and took a short swim at the beach, then returned to the villa to watch a movie with He Weiming.
It was an older Chinese movie about a seemingly peaceful aristocratic manor’s secret surging undercurrents and stories of various ethical traits. The protagonist was the nephew of the owner of the manor.
