When Jiang Ning lived alone, she had to wash the dishes. But after she got a dishwasher, she was even less willing to do these things.

Her mother and all her relatives said she was lazy when they saw her, and she admitted, “Yes, I am just lazy. If you are diligent, you can do it.”

Since she did nothing, everyone found that they couldn’t count on her, so they stopped counting on her.

Mother Jiang said while pulling her ear.

Jiang Ning was trapped in the mosquito net and could not escape. She had to use her hands to block her. But at only thirteen years old, she was no match for Mother Jiang, who had been doing farm work all year round and was tall and strong.

Angry, she kicked Mother Jiang away, tore open the mosquito net, ran out of bed, picked up the stabbing sickle and raised it towards her, “In the worst case, I will die with you today, and I will give you this life back.”

Mother Jiang was frightened.  She never thought that her daughter, who had been obedient and sensible since she was a child, but had a cowardly character like a quail, would actually swing a sickle at her and say that she wanted to kill her.

She patted her thighs and cried sadly, “What kind of fate do I deserve to give birth to such a heartless girl? She held a knife and said she wanted to kill me. Why is my life so miserable? I worked hard to clean her poop and urine, and she stabbed me with a knife.”

“Shut up!” Jiang Ning kicked over the wooden basin against the wall. Seeing that Mother Jiang was still crying and howling, she picked up the hot water bottle on the coffee table and smashed it to the ground with a loud bang, completely frightening Mother Jiang.

Mother Jiang didn’t care about crying at the time and waved her hand to come over and beat Jiang Ning. “You are a death-seeking girl, you dare to smash things in the house, why don’t you die?” 

Looking at the broken thermos bottle on the ground, Mother Jiang was so distressed.

In her whole life, she was not afraid of anything except people who would destroy things.

Seeing that she finally calmed down, Jiang Ning slashed the doorpost with the sickle, “If you dare to touch me again, I will smash everything in the house.”

She had always been able to take action and never push forward. When people said harsh words, she just did it without saying a word.

Mother Jiang was so frightened that she didn’t dare to do anything. She just cried and said, “You are seeking death. I asked you to wash the dishes, but you took a sickle and smashed things in the house. You have to pay for the thermos bottle.”

She really wished she could beat the girl, but looking at the fierce look on her face, she was afraid that she would really destroy the house while she was away.

A day ago, she wouldn’t have believed that Jiang Ning dared to do it, but just now she dared to swing a sickle at her, smashing the thermos bottle, and she was afraid that she would also smash the TV in her room.

She quickly came out and locked her bedroom.

Grandpa Jiang slept in the straw hut of the rice field at night and looked at the rice. He and Father Jiang had already gone to the field to cut a large area of rice.

During the double-cropping period, almost every household would go to the fields to cut rice before dawn, come back after ten o’clock to have breakfast and lunch, then take a nap, and then resume work at two o’clock in the afternoon.

Originally, Jiang Ning had to go to the fields to cut rice in the morning, usually until after eight o’clock. She would come back to make breakfast and then deliver it to the fields. After Jiang Ning and Grandpa Jiang ate, they went directly to the straw shed in the rice field and watched rice, while taking a three-hour nap. But that day Jiang Ning and Mother Jiang had a fight. Mother Jiang forgot to call her to join her. Seeing that the sun was about to come out, she hurried to the fields.

Looking at the mess on the floor and the messy dishes and chopsticks on the table, Jiang Ning let out a sigh of relief and walked to the kitchen to start making breakfast regardless.

In her memory, the breakfast method was to use wheat flour and paste a layer of pancakes along the edge of the pot. It was simple, fast and filling.

Thinking of the heavy farm work, Jiang Ning had no money and could not buy meat, so she came up with the idea of crayfish again. She picked up a snail by the pond with a basket and smashed it, and continued fishing for crayfish. After a while, she caught half a basket.

After she quickly washed the crayfish, she went home and put them in a pot to cook. Then she went to the vegetable field to cut a few leeks and picked a few cucumbers to make leek egg pancakes. She also made a few more pots of wheat pancakes and cooked them. She peeled out the good crayfish meat and yellow shrimps, added cucumber strips, and rolled it up with pancakes.

Crayfish meat was not high in calories, but yellow shrimp was very high in calories, which was very suitable for people like Father Jiang who did heavy farm work.

She rolled ten such pancakes and a plate of leek and egg pancakes, put them in the vegetable basket, and went to deliver them to Father Jiang and the others

It was already eight o’clock, and the sun was already scorching hot. She was wearing a straw hat, carrying a basket, eating a burrito, and walking on the road. When she was a child, she felt that there was nothing to eat, but at the moment she only felt that there were delicious foods everywhere.

She placed the basket on the ridge of the field and shouted, “Dad, it’s time for breakfast.”
