I stretched out my small gray paws quietly, and the rabbit meat was near my claws. I slowly touched the edge of the cage and tried my best to extend my front paws before I finally reached the rabbit meat. I looked up at brother Wolf before I took it.

“Blimey”, Brother Wolf was looking at me! His eyes were sharp and playful. Brother wolf’s glance scared my soul away. With my life’s courage and wisdom, I pushed the pot to the wolf brother and looked at my leg. The wolf brother narrowed his eyes, and before I got my leg back, he showed his fangs and fiercely pounced on my paw. I was desperate to retreat. I didn’t want to lose my claws for the rest of my life because of the robbery. “Aoao” I cried.

I thought It was over, and my claws were gone! Before I finished the cries, I heard brother wolf hum with contempt and ridicule. I held my paws back, got into the corner and licked them with my tongue out. I felt no pain, as if only a few hairs had fallen off.

I was embarrassed that I cried inside. I shrunk my tail, curled my ears, and looked carefully at brother wolf. Brother Wolf swallowed a piece of rabbit meat. He then seemed to be dissatisfied, and turned the pot away.

I didn’t dare to reach for it again.
