I am the crown prince? - Chapter 3
Mimi received her new memories, which made her head ache terribly.
According to her new memories, the young prince was a favored fool with some loyal people to back him up. He acted like a kid, but his heart was made of gold. He took people under his wings, whenever he found the opportunity to help them.
Zheng Lu died after he drank a certain tea, which was poisoned by his manservant. He had never mistreated that servant. Actually, five years back, the manservant was rescued by the young prince when he found him beaten to death in an abandoned alley. From then on, Zheng Lu considered him his close friend.
Mimi recalled his next word before the prince fainted, “The first prince sends his regards.”
Mimi couldn’t believe that Zheng Wei would do something like that to his own younger brother. She knew how much the first prince spoiled him. No wonder no one suspected him, and here he was the devil himself who barged in without notice.
“LuLu! I heard what happened to you! I can’t believe someone would poison my baby brother!” he exclaimed and gestured for the wizard to leave them, which he complied.
‘Pfft, such a great actor,’ Zheng Lu thought.
“Brother!” Zheng Lu exclaimed pitifully, and charged her attack. She threw her arms around her new brother, and tightened her hold, trying to break his bones.
‘The brat still has the energy to hug me,’ Zheng Wei thought. His clothes got soaked from his younger brother’s tears. He kept his act up and patted the young prince’s back gently.
“The last thing I remember is falling asleep, and everything became dark, I was scared,” Mimi said.
“Everything will be fine! I will find whoever did that and punish them,” he said warmly, hugging his younger brother.
‘I need a sacrifice now,’ the first prince wasn’t happy about the situation.
Mimi’s eyes flashed cold for a moment,”Actually, if I didn’t receive the young prince’s memories, I would have been fooled by his act.”
Prince Wei pushed the fourth prince away from him gently, and gazed at his brother. He felt guilty for a moment but pushed the feeling in the back of his mind.
“I have things to do! I will visit you later when I have the chance to,” the first prince said and left in a hurry.
Acting skills 1-0 to Mimi!
In the Palace prison, precisely in the torture room, sat the emperor of Xohan Empire on a chair, waiting for the cook to confess her crimes. He couldn’t rest since he heard the news. He directly arrested the suspect, and took the case in his own hands.
He stared blankly at the woman who tried to poison his son. She was shaking, her hair was messy and wild, and her robe was soaked in blood, the sweat poured from her forehead.
“Please! Please!” she pleaded in a raspy voice.
“We don’t mind keeping you, torturing you till you take your last breath,” the emperor said, gesturing for the guards to continue. The screams echoed in the place. The first prince heard it while entering the room, which made him shudder in fear.
“Your majesty,” he bowed in respect.
“Prince Wei,” the emperor said without looking at him, expecting the worst.
“The fourth prince is alive. Zheng Wei left him to rest,” Zheng Wei said with a smile.
The Emperor felt relieved. At least he can rest knowing his son was alive. After all, to him, the young prince was important.
“I will leave the rest to you,” the emperor said, leaving the scene.
Back to Zheng Lu, she laid on her bed and held a small mirror. She gazed at her reflection, the blush evident on her cheeks.
“I am in love.”
“Look at these eyes.”
Â
“Look at that nose.”
“Look at that lip.”
“Aww, my face is flawless!” she swooned.
“Pfft,” a laughing sound reached her ears. She looked for the source, to find the woman that she saw when she first opened her eyes in this new world.
Concubine Chun Hua covered half of her face, and tried to compose herself, the amusement was clear in her eyes.
‘Acting mode on,’ Zheng Lu thought.
“Mommy!” She called her like a spoiled child.
“You look better!” concubine Chun Hua said calmly, and sat near her son/daughter’s bed.
“Better? This face can ruin nations,” she replied quietly.
“Did you say something?” her mother asked, puzzled.
“Where is my daddy?” she asked, trying to change the subject.
“What did we agree on last time?” the concubine pursed her lips, tasting the water.
“No calling daddy by daddy, neither say “I” or people will make fun of me,” she said pouting.Â
“It’s for your own good,” her mother warned her, and patted her head.
“Fine!” Zheng Lu replied, crossing her hands.
‘I guess his memories are back,’ the concubine thought. She felt really happy. “Good, I need to visit the Empress, be a good boy and don’t make trouble,” She told her and walked out.
Concubine Chun Hua wasn’t the real mother of Zheng Lu. His real one died giving birth to him. The kind Concubine raised him like he was her own, and protected his real identity; being a girl.
“Fourth prince!” another person came and barged in. Mimi rolled her eyes and stared at the source with a blank face. The girl that barged in ignored it and kept talking. “It’s me, Lin Lan,” the maid said.
She came near her, and touched her hands. ‘What the hell? Wait! Lin Lan as Lin Lan?’ Zheng Lu thought in disgust, and slapped her hands away from her.
“Are you tired of living?” Mimi asked feeling mad at this disgusting person.
“Huh?” Lu stared at him, feeling clueless. “I am your future concubine. Do you remember, your promise?” she continued, staring blankly.
“A maid?” Mimi wondered aloud.
“We…we…did it…remember?” she asked, acting pitiful.
“So what?” Mimi blurted out. “Guards!” she called. Two Guards came in the room in a panic, finding no danger, they waited for instructions.
“Take Lin Lan to the secret room,” Mimi said coldly, making the guards shiver in fear.
“Zheng Lu! Noo! Don’t take me away! You took my chastity! You must take responsibility!” she kept shouting while being dragged out.
On That day, Zheng lu wasn’t the one on the bed in the first place, it was the first prince. Let’s not forget the fact that Zheng Lu was in fact a girl. So why would she take responsibility? And for what?
From there on, Mimi decided to embrace her new identity as a boy.
