I am the crown prince? - Chapter 2

“Follow my voice, your highness,” Mimi heard a calm voice echoing around, which she ignored, obviously she can’t see a thing.

“Find my voice! Don’t let the darkness cloud your judgement,” he said again.

The voice sounded dramatic for her liking. She wanted to wake up.

“No! Don’t wake up yet! You must regain your memories, or else the concubine will fry me alive!” he confessed, feeling scared.

‘Fry? She wants to eat fried chicken!! Yum yum!!’

Hearing her thoughts made the wizard vomit blood.

“Sorry! I miss eating,” she apologized sincerely, and then proceeded to follow the voice, but it disappeared.

“Hmm, where are you?” she asked.

After a few minutes, a white line appeared under her feet.

“Just follow the line,” the man instructed her.

Mimi followed the line, and found herself in a white room.

“Woah, bubbles!!!” she exclaimed, looking around in awe.

“You are now in the room of memories,” the voice informed her.

Going near one of the bubbles she watched one of the memories, and started to cry. She felt better knowing that she was still a girl.

“Now absorb the memories,” he ordered her.

“How?” she asked, feeling clueless.

“By thinking about doing it,” he calmly replied.

“Bubble bubble! Come to your mama!” She shouted, alas the spell didn’t work.

“Bubbles bubbles! Hear my command!” she shouted again.

“Epic fail,” she murmured, and closed her eyes in concentration.

She opened her eyes when she heard loud noises, to find bubbles attacking her from every angle.

Back in the room where the prince laid, the wizard cursed his luck. The truth was he couldn’t bring the young prince back to life. He actually brought another soul; from another world and another time to take his place.

The worst part, the soul he conjured was a pure one. He hoped that the person could survive this world.

After all, in this world being good-hearted isn’t something to brag about. The kind-hearted people were stepped on like rats. It was what caused the Fourth prince to lose his life. He died by being poisoned by someone he considered a friend.

Compared to his brothers, the fourth prince was naive and silly; he acted like a kid, always playing around. He was a waste to the kingdom.

That didn’t mean that all people hated him. Some women adored him, except for those who were scheming against him. It might be because of his looks, or his innocence that shined through his eyes. But, they all agreed on one thing; he wasn’t suitable to be the crown prince.

Weirdly, the actual emperor spoiled the young prince non-stop, which made the 2nd and 3rd prince hate him to the core. After all, they were only brothers from the father’s side.

The wizard noticed a slight twitch in the corner of his eyes, and found the prince awake.

“How do you feel?” he asked in concern.

“I feel like I got hit by a truck,” the young prince replied.

“What is a truck?” he wondered.

“My head aches,” the prince moaned in pain, ignoring his question.

“Do you remember who you are?” the wizard asked.

“Yes! I am Zheng Lu! The young prince of Xohan Empire!” Mimi said childishly.

“At least they have the same personality. No one would get suspicious,” he said quietly.

In the future, he would know how wrong he was.
