I am the crown prince? - Chapter 12
Jia Ying appeared behind one of the guards and without being noticed, she quietly and skillfully slit his throat with her pocket knife. A shadow guard saw her, he smirked behind his mask and raised his sword to stab her from behind. She sensed something coming her way and dodged it skillfully, making the sword hit the tree.
She cursed under her breath when out of nowhere, a lot of assassins appeared. They wore the same dog-like mask. These kind of assassins were highly skilled ones, they were known for being ruthless. No wonder her eyes couldn’t see past them.
Jia Ying’s eyes moved right and left. She ran back to the main road with the assassins hot on her tail.
She got caught off guard when a person wearing a fox mask emerged from the fog. She slammed into him which made it easy to him to hold both her hands up.
“Children aren’t allowed to play with knives,” he mused, he took the knife and pushed her into one of the shadow guard’s arms.
“The mission is over!” the man announced, making the fog disappear.
When he saw the girl’s pained face, he felt disgusted. He didn’t know the young prince, but he heard about him and it was nothing good. He wasn’t fit to be the crown prince, that’s why he was here to kill him.
The three guards with the scarred man appeared, bowing to the man with the fox mask.
“The Prince is dead,” they exclaimed, confirming Jia Ying’s suspicions.
“No! You are lying!” she kicked the person near her, freeing herself to look for her prince.
She sped off, one of the three guards wanted to follow her. But he got stopped by their leader.
“Kill her!” he ordered the person with the crossbow who took his aim and released an arrow after another which pierced her back, near the heart.
Jia Ying couldn’t walk when the arrow hit her vital points. She fell on the ground and puked blood.
“My prin…cess! My po…or pri…ncess! I know yo…u are a…live! You mu…st be,” she whispered.
“I won’t be by y…our si…de, plea…se for…give…” she whispered as she took her last breath.
The assassins erased the evidence; they burnt the corpse and pushed the carriage into the valley, to make it seem like an accident, then left the place.
Back to Mimi and Zheng Lu, they chatted like they were old friends, insulting each other and being cool about it. In the middle of discussing the art of ignorance and naivety, Jia Ying’s soul appeared near Zheng Lu which made her hyper as hell.
“Jia Ying!” Zheng Lu surprisingly embraced her old friend Jia Ying.
“Where am I? is this heaven?” she asked in daze.
“No! you are in the mirror of Mimi,” Zheng Lu told her.
“You are dead?” Jia Ying was surprised.
“Yeah since a few days ago.” Zheng Lu said.
“How?” she whispered.
“Well, I can start,” Mimi said.
“Who are you?” Jia Ying whispered again.
“She doesn’t sound like Jia Ying at all!” Mimi whispered to Zheng Lu to hear.
“Yeah, true!” Zheng Lu agreed.
“Both of you stop whispering!” she shouted.
“She is back!” both Mimi and Jia Ying smiled, amused.
“Just, tell me everything,” she sighed.
Mimi told her story first, making her dead friends feel sorry for her.
“You are in a bad situation, you need to get stronger, live peacefully with a new identity,” Jia Ying said after a lot of thinking.
“I know, but I am dying now! I might stay here with you,” Mimi replied to her.
“You will survive! I am sure of it!” Zheng Lu assured her.
