Husband you're so bad - Chapter 23.1
“Lin Meng, can I hug you?” Cheng Yuan asked her in a soft voice. The time they spent with each other wasn’t long. The closest contact they had was holding hands.
When he saw her walking away from him, he desired to hug this woman.
Lin Meng saw his clear, sincere eyes and nodded. He walked up to her and pulled her into his arms. She was so small. He could crush her with a bit of strength.
“No matter what kind of fate God has arranged for us, we all have the right to choose happiness. Don’t let yourself be unhappy, because it is silly, unwise.” He murmured in her ear.
She was a good woman who deserved to be cherished. She should be happy.
This was the first time someone has told her that happiness was her right, not a luxury. It wasn’t the first time someone cared about her, but it was the first time she felt moved. Everyone had the right to happiness, but he didn’t know the happiness she longed for had long since disappeared with that man.
She nodded; no matter what she would do in the future, she would keep this in mind.
Jun’an’s last words were similar, “Xiao Meng, promise me that no matter what happens, you must work hard to live. Even if you are tired, you will not give up. Only living people can have hope and opportunity to make everything possible.”
He must have known about the accident, that would explain why he forced her to promise him. She did not realize what it meant then. When he really disappeared, the only thing she could do was remember his words and work hard.
What hope? What opportunity? She only cared that he wanted her to live well. So she did not give up.
Two days later, in the afternoon, Lin Meng was in the study room, practicing calligraphy with her grandfather. The housekeeper came to inform them about Gu Yubai’s arrival.
The pen slipped from her hand, making a big blotch of ink on the rice paper.
Ouyang Yan glanced at the stain on the rice paper.
He sighed. Was he doing too much?
She was so young; he once again arranged her life. Will she hate him after she came to know the truth?
If not for this decision, she would lose most of her life, if not a lifetime waiting for him.
Their family had destroyed her mother’s life; they couldn’t ruin her’s as well.
Lin Meng cleaned the brush and hung it upside down on the pen holder. She left the study and saw Gu Yubai standing in the hall.
