“I’m just speaking the truth,” Ghost Yu said confidently.

She herself didn’t notice, but Yu Sheng did. Ghost Yu no longer had the hostility, but she was becoming more innocent. Yu Sheng shook her head and ignored her. It was better for her to stay by her side like that than with a strong sense of resentment all day long.

After Yu Sheng and Wen Renruo separated, Wen Renyu came back soon, and he did not suspect anything. However, when Yu Sheng followed Wen Renyu to leave, she saw Wen Renruo’s figure flash by.

What concerned Yu Sheng was that the girl sitting in the wheelchair next to him seemed to be the daughter of a director of the Wen family’s board of directors. Yu Sheng blinked her eyes. She had a hunch that Wen Renruo might have already started to take action.

She turned her head to look at Wen Renyu who was reading the medical report carefully. Yu Sheng never doubted Wen Renyu’s ability to withstand blows. After all, in Ghost Yu’s world, Wen Renyu was always alive and well, so there was no reason why he couldn’t be like that.

Even if everything turned out fine in the end and he seemed to have a successful career, what about the pain in his heart? Wen Renyu was not without pain and sadness, right? He hadn’t even settled his own affairs yet, so Yu Sheng thought it was better not to think too much about it for then.

“What are you holding?” Wen Renyu saw Wen Renruo carrying a pile of books, and he curiously stepped forward to take a look. However, he accidentally brushed Wen Renruo’s hand, causing him to lose his grip and drop them. 

Wen Renyu quickly reached out to help pick them up. 

But when Wen Renyu saw the contents of those books, he looked at Wen Renruo in confusion and asked, “Brother Ruo, are these all about pregnant women?” 

Wen Renruo remained calm, picked them up, looked at Wen Renyu, and said, “Yeah, I don’t know that much.”

Wen Renyu naturally assumed Wen Renruo was trying to take better care of Yu Sheng. Although it was a good thing, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. Still, seeing Wen Renruo’s frank expression, Wen Renyu suppressed his discomfort.

He figured maybe he was just being petty and possessive. After all, he was the one who asked Wen Renruo to look after Yu Sheng. So, Wen Renyu once again missed the chance to discover the truth.

Yu Sheng’s body was getting heavier, and the discomfort of pregnancy was increasing. She was never polite to Wen Renyu. That night, Yu Sheng’s legs cramped again, and she woke up in discomfort. She kicked Wen Renyu and woke him up.

Wen Renyu understood immediately, stood up, and squatted in front of Yu Sheng to massage her, which helped her feel much better.

Ghost Yu looked at her with emotion, surprised that Wen Renyu had become this considerate.

When Wen Renyu saw the frown on Yu Sheng’s face, he let out a sigh of relief. He told her about the books he had seen in Wen Renruo’s hands earlier that day. “Brother Ruo is really responsible,” Wen Renyu sighed.

Yu Sheng nodded softly. “After all, he is the child’s uncle.”

“Yes, Brother Ruo is not like them…” Wen Renyu paused and didn’t finish the sentence, but Yu Sheng understood what he meant. Wen Renruo wouldn’t treat his own child the way their parents had treated him.

“Of course. After all, it is his biological child.” No matter how many times, Ghost Yu still couldn’t adapt to this shameless fact. “Look, the one who should be giving you a massage isn’t even here.”

“You have to pay for what you enjoy, it’s all right.” Yu Sheng was not embarrassed at all.

It was late at night, and she was his legitimate wife. Wen Renyu smelled her fragrance and touched Yu Sheng’s smooth, delicate skin. It was hard for him not to be distracted. He hugged Yu Sheng to sleep every night, and Wen Renyu did not remain unaffected.

However, out of concern for his wife’s health, he didn’t act on his desires. He endured it. Thinking about the long months, Wen Renyu felt it was truly difficult to bear. He was glad he had the foresight to consult a doctor about the issue during his last hospital visit.

Their relationship was already progressing fast enough, and Wen Renyu wasn’t sure if Yu Sheng could accept going further, even though they were husband and wife and the child was already in her belly.

“Okay, let’s go to bed.” Yu Sheng felt that Wen Renyu’s hands were becoming less proper, rubbing her calves in an ambiguous way and slowly moving higher. She decisively pulled her legs away from his hands.

Wen Renyu hadn’t done it on purpose, nor was he trying to hint at anything — he just couldn’t help himself. Her reaction made him realize his problem, and Wen Renyu blushed for the first time in a long while.

Seeing Yu Sheng turn her back to him, Wen Renyu didn’t know whether she was angry or not. How could he dare to try anything else? He lay down obediently. Still, Wen Renyu wanted to be closer to Yu Sheng, so he scooted over little by little.

Even if Wen Renruo didn’t work in the Wen family’s business directly, he still held shares in it. Whether inherited from his father or grandfather, he had a rightful stake in the Wen family assets.

With the Wen family’s wealth, Wen Renruo could live comfortably without lifting a finger — rich and idle. 

In the beginning, Wen Renruo never showed any ambition, and Mr. and Mrs. Wen didn’t mind supporting someone like that.
