Even though they seemed to be concerned and worried, Yu Sheng could still see the gloating in their eyes. So what if she was beautiful, talented, and noble? Her fiancée still despised her to death and would rather fall in love with a waitress than marry her.

They thought that she hadn’t gone out for so long because she was hiding to heal her wounds. After all, the rumors about her a while ago were very unpleasant. Even though they didn’t dare to say much on the surface, they were spreading rumors everywhere in private. Yu Sheng would never let anyone laugh at her. She sighed and said, “Oh, yes, I’ve been busy with the land in the east of the city recently. I’m exhausted.”

Yu Sheng’s words made them gasp and look at each other in surprise. Although most of these young ladies were not working and were all looking for marriage, Yu Sheng was the only child after all. She knew more than them, but they were not fools who knew nothing about the family business. They knew about the operation without Yu Sheng’s explanation.

They only dared to secretly mock Yu Sheng. Indeed no one really thought that Wen Renyu and Yu Sheng’s marriage would be cancelled, but it was good to annoy her. However, if Wen Renyu’s action allowed the Yu family to gain so much, they all wished that their fiancés could do the same in the future.

Of course, the premise was that their fiancés were also as wealthy as Wen Renyu. For these people, interests were the most important, and feelings were secondary. After all, there were many people who got involved with others after marriage. Regardless of whether her future husband loved her or not, Yu Sheng, who was so wealthy, was undoubtedly envied and hated.

This was as ridiculous as a low-income office worker still feeling sorry for the unhappy marriage of a rich lady. They should feel sorry for themselves first. Yu Sheng’s words made the lively atmosphere quiet for a moment. They almost couldn’t laugh out loud, let alone show their hypocrisy as before.

“By the way, do you know what’s going on with Miss Sun now?” Yu Sheng said this lightly, and they couldn’t help but tremble. Miss Sun was the one who was jealous of Yu Sheng and framed her before, and they definitely didn’t want to end up like her.

She was against Yu Sheng, but the person she attacked was Wen Renyu. Didn’t it mean that their relationship was not that bad? After all, Wen Renyu still protected his fiancée. Previously, those people were laughing at Yu Sheng, but she believed that they would not do that after the party.

That was, after all, the real reason she attended the party—to let others voice her intentions on her behalf. Perhaps it was due to her overwhelming joy, but Yu Sheng ended up twisting her ankle as she was leaving. Once it became clear that her standing hadn’t been shaken by the previous banquet—and that the capital under her control had only grown stronger—everyone rushed to befriend her again, competing to show their respect and favor.

“Sheng Sheng, are you okay? Quick, take her to the hospital!” Fortunately, they were near the First People’s Hospital—it was only a few minutes away on foot. The girls hurried to support Yu Sheng and helped her register at the front desk. But before she could get far, she ran into Wen Renruo. Yes, he did work at the best hospital in the area.

“Big brother is mine. When I grow up, I want to be the bride of Doctor Brother,” a little girl said in a cute and innocent voice.

“No, Doctor Brother is mine,” another little girl said, unconvinced.

“You are all idiots. Brother Doctor will be an old man when you grow up, huh!” The little boy raised his chin high and said proudly. His expression clearly meant that he was the only one who should be their groom, which made the two little girls very angry, and they pressed him down to beat him.

That was the scene when Yu Sheng saw Wen Renruo. He smiled helplessly and shook his head, patiently pulling them apart to persuade them, which made Yu Sheng burst out laughing.

The laughter made Wen Renruo look up at Yu Sheng. When he saw her, his relaxed expression froze. Soon, Wen Renruo’s expression returned to normal. He patted the heads of the children soothingly and nodded and smiled at Yu Sheng.

Yu Sheng was stunned. She had to admit that she was indeed amazed by Wen Renruo at that moment. The man was wearing a white coat, which only highlighted his cold and noble temperament.

When he looked over with a smile on his lips, it was as if an elegant lotus slowly bloomed, letting people smell its fragrance and beauty.

Yu Sheng also curled the corners of his lips towards him. There seemed to be nothing wrong with the two of them, and they were very friendly.

“Are you registering? Is your foot injured?” Wen Renruo walked over and asked Yu Sheng, who was being supported.

Yu Sheng nodded at him, and Wen Renruo said softly, “If you don’t mind, I can help you take a look.”

“Aren’t you a pediatrician? Do you treat this?” Yu Sheng teased.

“I guess you have to know a little bit about everything,” Wen Renruo said helplessly.

Yu Sheng did not refuse. She believed in Wen Renruo’s medical skills. The man was sensitive and eager to learn since he was a child. Yu Sheng asked her friends to help her to Wen Renruo’s office and sat down, then she let them leave first.

There were only two of them in the office, and the air seemed thinner. Wen Renruo and Yu Sheng didn’t say anything, he just squatted down in front of Yu Sheng to check her feet.

Yu Sheng looked down at the man at her feet. He was tall and graceful, and even when he was squatting, his elegant and gentle temperament was not affected. Wen Renruo was very serious and focused. It was the first time that Yu Sheng looked at him so carefully.

Even though they had done the most intimate things together, what remained in Yu Sheng’s memory was the heat and passion that seemed to be able to burn her out.

Wen Renruo was not completely insensitive. On the contrary, Yu Sheng’s gaze on him made him feel more nervous and uncomfortable than ever before. When Wen Renruo’s big hand grasped Yu Sheng’s ankle, both of their bodies trembled at the same time.

Some things had happened, and they couldn’t pretend that nothing had happened. Two people who once had the most intimate possession of each other’s bodies still felt different, even though they both tried hard to suppress the strangeness in their hearts.

Wen Renruo tightened his grip on Yu Sheng’s hand, and once again touched her skin, which gave him a greater shock than he had imagined. Wen Renruo took a deep breath, calmed himself, and focused on Yu Sheng’s injury, not letting his mind wander.

However, Wen Renruo’s heart was still swirling. “Go back and apply this medicine a few more times…”

Wen Renruo explained the precautions to Yu Sheng in detail, who listened very carefully. After he finished speaking, there was a sudden silence between them, and the atmosphere seemed a little awkward.

But Yu Sheng seemed to have noticed nothing, and said nonchalantly, “Thank you so much for today.” Yu Sheng paused, and said with a curved lip, “You are very popular with children, and I believe you will be a good father in the future.”
