Apocalypse Arrival - chapter 278
“One day in the future, you may also discover that the continuation of the race is difficult and bloody. The mother star brought us to different planets, but it is a way of reproduction for us.”
The demon slowly spread out its slender, skeletal fingers, with a page of human writing floating inside. A line of beautiful text was written on it with green and bright unidentified paint: We are not lonely travelers. One day our compatriots will be reunited. Death is not the end of life, but the beginning of a new journey.
“If you see that child again, please help to give this to him. Tell him that the few days I have lived with him have made me very happy.” The little gleam in the dark eyes gradually dissipated, “I’m a little happy, the human being who is going to take me back home will be you. Maybe your special existence can let me see a different journey.”
Away from them, the thinly dressed teenager stood on the surface of a glacial lake and turned his head.
The light of abilities in the distance gradually extinguished, but the noise of human beings was still faintly heard.
The teenager stared for a moment, lowered his head, and slowly walked away from the water mirror-like ice surface.

Ye Peitian knocked on Chu Qianxun’s door.
Chu Qianxun stretched out her head to look left and right, then stood on tiptoe and kissed his face before pulling him into the room.
She, who successfully ascended to the sixth-order, brought the team members of Heart of Winter back to Ludao from the north.
The twin sisters in Winter City, Tang Juan from Qingdun, Yue Wenyin, Xiao Lu, a corpse-controlling teenager from Rongcheng, Feng Chengyu and Xin Ziming from Qilin Base all the way down, she said goodbye to old friends and new friends and returned directly to Ludao where the Heart of Winter was created.
They had to wait there for the attack of a huge demon that suddenly crossed the sea.
This time, Chu Qianxun would not let Meng Rongxuan fight alone.
Ludao Island, the home of her two generations, had to be guarded by her.
“What are you doing?” Ye Peitian asked.
Chu Qianxun was a little embarrassed. She coughed, “Hehe, I’m painting figurines.”
She laughed twice, but did not speak.
On the table were a few plates of paint, and a few small-leaf Peitian clay figures, scattered with a few tiny gouache.
Those clay figurines were all made by Ye Peitian to Chu Qianxun despite being shy. There were several small figures of different shapes, some of which were lying on their backs and raised one arm to cover their faces. Some sat sideways on the reclining chairs and relaxed their long legs.
When Ye Peitian saw his own model in such a posture, his face suddenly became bright.
She held a brush in her hand, and adjusted the paint dish. The small tip of the brush stirred in the paint dish, and mixed the skin color and the cherry pink.
She seemed to be interested in raising the tip of her brush a little bit to color the clay figure.
Ye Peitian looked at the small brush tip, stained with a little fleshy white, and brushed down from the clay figurine’s face and neck. With the movement of the brush tip, he felt the skin on his cheeks and neck burn all the way.
But the person turned the tip of her brush, stirring up a tinge of red, stirring it in the white paint,
Then she showed a wicked smile, turned her head and glanced at him, bit her lip lightly, and dyed that bit of cherry blossom pink on the clay figurine’s lips.
The tip of the brush lifted up and slowly descended again.
Ye Peitian couldn’t stand it. His face was flushed, and he turned his head and tried to walk away.
Chu Qianxun grabbed him and whispered in his ear, “Wait a minute, do me a favor, change this, separate it a bit, otherwise how can I color it.”
A plate mixed with white and cherry red paint hit the top, splashing a little crimson all the way on the tabletop and the ground.
The spring light outside the window was just right, and the spring inside the house got hazy.
When Chu Qianxun woke up, the absurd atmosphere of the previous night no longer remained in the room. Ye Peitian got up early and cleaned up the mess in the room.
The house was clean and tidy, and there was even a beautifully blooming peach blossom in the vase on the table.
Chu Qianxun shook her head for a moment, but some of her reactions didn’t come to pass.
She looked around, and through the window, she saw the bright blue sky and white clouds outside the window, as the refreshing morning light broke through the window.
Ye Peitian brought breakfast into the house on a tray and placed it on the bedside counter.
The breakfast was extraordinarily exquisite, with tender fried eggs fried into a heart shape, two cups of prepared milk and crispy toast slices on the side, and even a small plate of strawberries that should not be in the season, oozing with water droplets, red and lovable.
“What is this for?” Chu Qianxun quickly got up and sat cross-legged on the bed.
Ye Peitian sat down next to the edge of the bed and looked at her seriously for a long while. His fair skin was a little red in the early morning light, and his slightly curly hair covered his forehead softly and lightly. His eyes were clean and beautiful.
In his eyes, there was spring light, autumn water, sparkling waves, and an infinite desire to talk and rest.
The man was really good-looking, no matter how many times she looked at him, she was amazed by his beauty.
Chu Qianxun’s heart was beating inexplicably. In such bad years, she was even more fortunate that she could meet such a person. They could support each other and move forward hand in hand no matter how long the road ahead would be.
With her encouraging gaze, Ye Peitian finally took out a box that was in his pocket.
When he flipped open the lid, a pair of golden rings appeared.
“Qianxun. I…” He blushed, but he hesitated, saying three or four times before finishing his words.
Chu Qianxun took the pair of rings, fixed them on their hands, and tied them into each other’s hearts.
“Yes, I do, I will, I will do anything.”
She reached around his neck and kissed the man’s shy lips.
END
Miao: It was a wholesome experience translating this novel. At first I thought it would be more sci-fi and may not level up to Let the Villain Go, but it did. I was smiling, excited, and crying sometimes while translating it.
Also for those who don’t know Let the Villain Go, it’s a novel which was written after this novel, which is not exactly a sequel but kind of a parallel world.
Do read it.
It is completely translated on Wordrain by me. Many said I should have done that first, but I didn’t know it when I picked it. Anyway, I am glad I didn’t, because it got more interesting for me. But you could read this first or the other first, it doesn’t really change anything..
Thanks for the love and patience as I couldn’t translate this novel for long due to exams.

That’s it? No extra story? No explanation for the aliens/demons’ invasion except for “reincarnation and evolution is our way of “reproduction””?
Well, the ability holders’ child inherited their parents’ characteristics(?) as ability holder and that ability itself is manifestation of a slumbering alien/demon’s. So, in a way, they can reproduce in similar way as non-pathogenic virus? (that’s too far-fetched, tho.) Regardless of what actually happened, in a way, the aliens got the ability for “reproduction” and a chance for evolution along with human by “slumbering” in the ability holders.
Thank you for translated this book. Now, I’ll try to seek the answer for my question in the second book (the parallel world).
Otsukaresama.
