Apocalypse Arrival - chapter 201

Qi Yongchun closed the gate of the wall and stood on the high tower.

The sound of huge artillery fire shook the earth, soaring flames and staggered trajectories almost ignited the entire black night sky.

The huge buildings that survived the catastrophe when the crystal core descended stood in the flames, silently watching the panicked and fleeing humans at their feet.

The flames burning everywhere and the intensive gunfire close at hand made Qi Yongchun a little nervous.

At the moment, the only people with useful ability left in the sand castle were Granny Feng and Xu Xiangyang.

Granny Feng was old and Xu Xiangyang had just advanced. He suddenly realizes that he should shoulder the responsibility of protecting everyone.

Qi Yongchun had a burly figure, strong muscles, and was a tall man. People who were unfamiliar with him would have the illusion that he was fierce and good at fighting, but in fact the man had a soft heart. He didn’t like to fight with others by nature. What he liked most was playing with flowers and plants. He always liked to stay with simple children.

After coming to Ludao, the peaceful environment made him too keen on planting and storing food, and he had not participated in actual combat for a long time.

Standing on the high platform at the moment, Qi Yongchun condescendingly saw a fully armed team appearing at the entrance of the distant community.

Those men broke through the barricades set by Fu Guoxu and deliberately sneaked into this sparsely populated villa area, with the only purpose that might be the residence of Heart of Winter.

Qi Yongchun jumped down from the tower, hugged a bunch of children in the yard, and pushed them into the villa where the Xu family lived.

“Go into the basement and hide. If you don’t hear my voice, no one should come out,” he handed the children to Chu Qianxun’s aunt Shan Lingxiang and took a bag of plant seeds, turned and walked out.

Ruan Xiaoyue silently followed behind him, but Qi Yongchun pushed the child back, “You also hide. Your injury is still not healed.”

Xu Xiangyang dragged a huge wooden box out of the house. The wooden box was full of armor and weapons he made, and there were a lot of home-made explosives, medicines, and hand mines bought from the market.

“Brother Yongchun, wait, I’ll come with you.”

Qi Yongchun nodded, lifted the box with him and walked out.

“Son, be careful,” Shan Lingxiang yelled, holding the door of the room uneasily.

“Mom, don’t worry. I have been out of the island to hunt demons many times, and I am good at fighting now, it’s okay,” Xu Xiangyang comforted his mother.

Shan Lingxiang gritted her teeth and resisted the urge to drag her son back into the basement.

Her son had a personality like his dad. He had a good temper since he was a child, and he had hardly ever had a fight with anyone. Her niece Qianxun was gentle and sweet, and she had always been a charming little girl in her mind.

In less than half a year, the two children had undergone tremendous changes, and they had quickly become so independent and strong in such a cruel world.

Qi Yongchun and Xu Xiangyang climbed up the high tower on the wall together, and found that thick white fog was rolling ten meters away from the wall. The thick fog covered everything and wrapped the entire castle.

“The enemy who should come will still come.” In another tower on the city wall, Granny Feng, with white hair, turned her head to Qi Yongchun and Xu Xiangyang and smiled encouragingly, “Don’t be afraid, we are not afraid of demons. What’s more, the enemy this time are human beings.”

It was a team of well-trained and fully armed men, and they cooperated and sneaked into the gate of the Wuyuan villa community.

The leading man had dark skin, a tight figure, and a fierce eye. He was obviously a fighter with rich combat experience.

Two people behind him, one with hunched back, thin and pale, with a pair of triangular eyes squirming around.

The other person was fat and looked quite kind.

“Qianzi, we are very lucky this time. We don’t have to face Fu Jianjun’s team. We just need to come here to catch a few old, weak, sick and disabled people, hehe,” the thin, triangular-eyed man said.

“This is the resident of the Heart of Winter. Although their main ability holders are all out of the island, we still can’t be careless.” The man named Qiangzi replied calmly, with a slight air current swirling in his palm, forming a small wind, “Moreover, the order above is to catch them alive, so please pay attention.”

“Do you have to be so cautious? Only an old woman who can control the weather and an ability holder who could only grow plants are there. Oh, I heard that there is a blacksmith.” Nicknamed Tetsuo, the fat man said with a smile, “I don’t know why the leaders are making a fuss, letting the three of us take action and grab so many things. Isn’t this a matter of grasping?”

Qiangzi, who was walking in the front, stretched out his hand and blocked the team’s advance.

In front of them, thick fog rose up at an unnatural speed, which hid all the buildings in the community and obscured their way forward.

“Small bugs!” Qiangzi snorted coldly, with one hand a gust of wind flew from his palm, tearing apart a corner of the thick fog. Although the thick fog quickly closed again, it still made them see that there was no ambush in the thick fog.

Wind blades split the fog one after another, and the team members gathered behind the wind-type ability holder and slowly walked toward the center of the dense fog.

An open field finally appeared in front, and the tall yellow sand castle stood silently behind the thick white fog.

When the men found the target, their spirits were lifted, and they raised their weapon and rushed forward.

Suddenly, several people in the crowd screamed, and they didn’t know what entangled their ankles. Before they had time to react, they were dragged into the white mist one by one.

“What happened?!”

“What happened?!”
