Mrs. Lou threw the exquisite ball that didn’t make a sound anymore and made it move on one of her fingers, “Days went on. Thick snow covered everything and I could hardly move a step. But every day, Ah Nu broke through the snow making a hole, went out and found fresh food for me. The rest of the time, the two of us played with this exquisite ball together in the warm cave.”

“In the beginning, I taught her to play, but she quickly surpassed me. We squeezed into a pile of soft fur and agreed to play together forever.”

The ball that had gone through the years kept spinning silently. Mrs. Lou stared at it,

the wrinkles in the corners of her eyes gradually became deeper in the sun.

“Although I was very happy to live with Ah Nu, I soon began to miss home. I began to beg her to take me back. She refused at first, but couldn’t bear my coaxing and finally agreed.”

Yan Nu brought Lou Chun to the big tree where they had met.

“A Chun!” The friend behind her called to her, “Will you come back?”

“Yes, definitely, I will definitely come back to see you. Then we will have fun with the ball again,” Lou Chun whimpered with tears and waved desperately.

“Okay, then I’ll be waiting for you here,” Ah Nu just stood under the tree and said lightly.

Lou Chun walked far away and when she looked back, the little figure was still standing there with little white hands on the tree trunk, just like when she first saw her.

“Then why didn’t you visit her again?” Yuan Xiang asked. Although Yan Nu was indeed fierce and powerful, thinking of that little figure playing with the ball alone there for decades while waiting for her friend to come, Yuan Xiang thought that she was a bit pitiful.

“In the beginning, something happened and I really couldn’t leave.” Mrs. Lou’s eyes dimmed, “It was my fault after all. I thought she is not a human being and has a long lifespan, so I asked her to wait.  When everything stabilized and I got relatively free, I happily went to Celestial Wolf Mountain to find her. “This was the reason and decades had been wasted,” Yuan Xiang sighed.

Mrs. Lou stood up, handed the crutches to her daughter-in-law beside her and bowed to Yuan Xiang upright.

Even if Yuan Xiang came from modern society, she knew that it was not easy to accept the respect of such an old woman, so she got up and avoided it.

“What does Madam mean?”

“Since you could find the place, I want to make a request. I hope that you can take me with you there.”

I only owe one, to my best friend. If I fail to fulfill my wish, I will regret it for my whole life and living will be useless.”

Lou Xian was embarrassed for a while and finally stood behind her. The couple bowed to Yuan Xiang .

“Do you want me to take you to Celestial Wolf Mountain?” Yuan Xiang hesitated.

“No, no, we’re not going.” Wu Yuan laid on Yuan Xiang’s shoulders, “Yan Nu is too horrible, I don’t want to see her. What if she is still angry and turns into a bunch of moths to bury us?”

This old lady kept her childhood promise in her heart for more than fifty years. It was admirable, but Yuan Xiang didn’t know if she should take her to see the moody and terrifying moth.

“Take her there,” Nan He’s voice sounded outside the door. 

He stepped into the room and came to Yuan Xiang’s side, spoke very concisely, but calmed Yuan Xiang’s doubts, “Don’t worry about Yan Nu, I’m still here with you.”
