Demon King's Repayment - chapter 11
The stench made her cold, the fear of death penetrated into the pores and captured her heart. Between life and death, all the forbidden spells Shifu taught her in the past two years, passed through her mind.
Liu Jia spell (talisman)? No, that required magical ritual implements.
Draw five thunder symbols? Not to mention that in such a stressful and chaotic moment, even at home with the table set up and calmness, she may not be able to make one out of ten.
Tianmen (Gate of heaven) array? No, it wasn’t fast.
Call Yang God Yin soldiers from the altar? (seek help from the Heavenly Deities and Hell Deities)
Oh, that wouldn’t do.
Yuan Xiang panicked. She realized that she had learned a lot, but when it came to actual combat, she still panicked and couldn’t come up with any defense means.
The huge demon cat’s fierce claw had scratched her skin and a burning sensation spread from Yuan Xiang’s waist. On the way out of Yuan Village, she carried the talisman hand-wrapped by her Shifu. At that moment, the talisman in the sachet exploded and a circle of golden lights with complicated patterns appeared in front of Yuan Xiang. That fine and majestic rune was shining and at the moment before death, it blocked the demon’s violent blow.
Shifu’s talisman protected her.
“Don’t be impulsive, this is just a misunderstanding. I didn’t hurt this kitten. I happened to pass by,” Yuan Xiang raised the small cat in her hand and seized the opportunity to try to explain the situation.
The red-eyed cat demon couldn’t listen to her words at the time and furiously attacked with its paws. It could easily take the fragile human’s life.
But no matter how angrily it changed its position and angle, the golden light could always appear in front of it accurately, blocking the attack.
The coercion and fierce offensive attack of the huge demon cat rolled up the dust to the sky, causing the earth to shake, flying sand and rocks. In the dark sky, only the seemingly weak golden rune, constantly lit up with a gold circle, firmly stood in front of Yuan Xiang.
Yuan Xiang forced herself to calm down. She came out to play and didn’t bring anything. She could only converge her mind to move her fingers to depict the five thunder symbols that could summon the sky thunder.
The talisman method Yu Yao taught was different from the complicated talisman making process of rituals in the world. It seemed to be a lot simpler, but in fact it was very willful. The so-called Qi thunder was extremely difficult to make. Yuan Xiang had been practicing for a long time, but still couldn’t even touch it’s doorway. Often among the ten or twenty talismans she made, there wasn’t one that could be used effectively.
Shifu Yu Yao didn’t care about it. He only said every day: Xiang’er is great. It’s okay, go play.
At the moment, her life was hanging by a thread, Yuan Xiang didn’t dare to be careless and concentrated her energy to make a charm.
The red rune faintly appeared in the air.
She succeeded!
But it was too early for her to be happy. A few thunderclouds floated in the sky and a thin flash of lightning hit the demon cat but had no effect at all. It was just more furious.
Yuan Xiang stamped her feet in anger. She could only make a talisman again.
At that moment, a small blue fish swimming appeared in front of her eyes.
The little fish swiftly swam around in the air with its tail wagging. Yuan Xiang rubbed her eyes and it split into two, turning into a red and a black fish.
The two little fishes faced each other end to end, then turned around and gradually grew bigger and became huge Pisces like.
There was silence around her, as if she was covered by a huge transparent circular shield. The wind and sand didn’t blow, the earth didn’t shake and the messy grass blades in the sky were slowly falling.
A familiar figure appeared in front of Yuan Xiang. The person raised his finger and waved lightly and the demon cat outside the shield was pushed away.
There was a cry like a baby crying coming from the sky and earth. Xiqu jumped out from the ground. His hoofs dug the ground and his black body instantly became huge, with a pair of sharp long horns. The demon cat who just got up fell to the ground.
Yu Yao condensed four transparent water columns, restraining the cat’s movement, raised the little small cat that was trembling in Yuan Xiang’s hand and threw it far.
“I’m returning it to you, don’t show up again, or you will be banned for a hundred years.”
The fierce cat hunched its back and roared. Finally, it gave up the plan to continue the attack, picked up its own child and disappeared among the mountains in a few jumps.
Yuan Xiang’s horrified heart became calm in an instant. Her limbs weakened, so she sat on the ground.
Yu Yao turned to look at her and touched her head with a smile, “Oh, Xiang’er could already make a thunder charm. It seems that you will be able to catch up to me soon.”
Yuan Xiang smirked with lingering fears. At the moment, she felt that Shifu’s so-called “teaching” was just a joke.
The demon cat that almost took her life was as difficult as an unshakeable mountain for her. But Shifu could easily subdue him by raising his fingers. She was still far behind Shifu, how could she catch up to him?
With a Shifu, the carefree childhood seemed to last indefinitely. She could study academic methods easily and casually every day and play with her friends or demons. Time was tricking silently.
