Daddy is the Big Boss - Chapter 63
Chapter 63 – Party Cut Short
Both Fu Lihua and Shan Yijun came to the ballroom with gloomy faces and Lu Ji behind them sighing.
Chen Dayu who was talking to Xiao Li, Xiao Li looked at them and laughed.
“What’s got you both so gloomy?”
Although Xiao Li and Fu Lihua weren’t close at all, her cheery personality made her easy to get along with. So even when Xiao Li acted overly familiar with her, Fu Lihua wasn’t bothered.
Following behind them was the high profile Du Lin along with his two bodyguards.
And the helpless Lu Ji in the background.
Chen Daiyu only decided to invite Du Lin to her birthday, only by formality. He invited her to his after all and it would be rude to not reciprocate. She was vaguely regretting her invitation, she underestimated how thick his face was.
Fu Lihua and Shan Yijun tried blocking the door, however, Lu Ji stopped them and let Du Lin in. After all, the Shan and Du family only had tense relationships in private. They would give each other a face from time to time.
“Welcome,” Chen Daiyu smiled at Du Lin and then walked away with three tailing her.
“Hmph!” Du Lin smirked and went to a more crowded place with his bodyguards. Some kids were intimidated by them and stayed away from him.
The brat made his way through the crowd of children and then proceeded to sit where Chen Daiyu was supposed to sit, but she was entertaining other children so she could glance at him every few minutes.
As expected of the male lead, he definitely had the knack for getting attention be it good or bad.
Chen Daiyu turned away expressionlessly. She didn’t have an intention to childishly argue with a brat, but he better not bother her in the future or else… even his male lead halo might not be able to save him.
Xiao Li saw Chen Daiyu’s expressionless face, thinking she was upset, Xiao Li handed her a lollipop.
Chen Daiyu didn’t think much about it and accepted the treat.
“You don’t have to be upset over him. Tell me when he bothers you, we’ll beat him up!” Xiao Li raised her fists and waved them around.
The gesture made Chen Daiyu amused. She wasn’t angry in the first place, but it felt good to know that her friends also worried about her.
“Happy birthday!”
“Thanks!”

Seeing Du Lin sitting on the high flatform chair that was meant for Chen Daiyu, Huo Shanxi was worried about her being upset. He sneaked around looking for her but Du Lin spotted him.
“Hey! Brat!” Du Lin called out to him but Huo Shanxi didn’t hear him.
“Huo Shanxi! You bastard!”
Huo Shanxi finally reacted and turned to look at Du Lin.
“What is it?” he backed away wearily.
“Now you finally know how to be afraid, huh?!? Weren’t you just ignoring me when I was calling you?!?” Du Lin went down from the seat and started pressuring Huo Shanxi, making him intimidated.
“No… I-” before he could explain himself, Du Lin pushed him harder than usual.
Before anyone could react, Huo Shanxi tripped, the back of his head hitting the corner of the table, hard.
So hard that people around him heard a crack. Even Du Lin himself was stunned.
Huo Shanxi felt something warm trickle down from the back of his head, he reached to touch the spot but he ended up blacking out.
“Kyaaa!?”
“Murderer! He murdered big brother!!!”
“Mommy!!! Waaaa-“
Chen Daiyu, as the host, naturally went to check what the commotion was. When she saw the state Huo Shanxi was in, she immediately directed those around her.
She grabbed a clean cloth from the table and wrapped it around his head without applying pressure. She sat on the ground to give him better support.
“Xiao Li! Call uncle Lu Ji. Lihua, call the adults to take their kids. Yijun! Tell dad to call an ambulance!”
The three ran out of the crown when they received the order without questioning her. The nearest adult, Lu Ji, came first, when he saw what happened, he immediately took over, carried Huo Shanxi over to a sofa.
Shan Yijun had already reached Chen Feng and called emergency services.
Only Fu Lihua stood at the sea of adults. Frozen on the spot and her lips trembling. She was unable to say anything audible, nor did the adults see her there at all.
She might’ve acted cold and polite in the masses but in reality, she had social anxiety. It was just that it wasn’t as obvious when she was talking to people her age.
But then again, Chen Daiyu told her to inform the adults to get their kids. If they weren’t comforted, the bloodied scene they just saw might engrave them forever.
“Madames and Misters! Please get your children now! There was an accident. They might need some comforting!” Fu Lihua shouted so everyone could hear her but…
“Is this some sort of prank?”
“Whose kid is that?”
“How rude, did her parents teach her any manners?”
Mrs. Fu only heard a faint voice and didn’t see who it was so she didn’t know who spoke now was her daughter.
Frustrated, Fu Lihua shook. “Really! An accident happened and someone bled! The others are panicking please take care of your children-“
Fu Lihua looked at them and saw that they still didn’t believe her, so she slowly backed away. Before she could run, someone took her by the wrist and stood straight.
“Please parents, as Lihua said, the children are panicking and there’s an emergency, the ambulance would be here any minute so please get your children. I’m sorry for the inconveniences”
One of Chen Daiyu’s hands had blood stains while she held the clean one with Fu Lihua. Seeing her hands, parents started believing her and rushed to their children.
Chen Daiyu sighed in relief, she patted Fu Lihua’s head wordlessly.
Few minutes later, the ambulance arrived. Chen Feng and Chen Daiyu came along the ambulance and sent Huo Shanxi to the hospital.
