“That bastard is with the Shan family?”

Huo Zhang Wei in his office in the white house perked up at the mention of Shan family. Almost everyone in the court knew his and Shan family’s conflict.

What irked him more is the fact that if not for Shan He and Chen Feng’s uninterest in the position of president, he wouldn’t be able to fight for it at all.

It was the biggest slap of face he’d ever received.

Who knew that the bastard he deemed as useless would be reported today that he’s inside Shan family’s impenetrable walls.

He went quiet after his assistant repeated his report. He stood up with hands behind his back and faced the floor to ceiling french window making his expression unseeable.

But if Huo Zhang Wei’s assistant were to see his current bone chilling grin, he would’ve resigned on the spot.

It seems that that bastard has some use after all.

After finding out about some stranger coming home to live with them for a few days, Shan Yijun’s face was sour as ever. He frowned all day glaring at Huo Shanxi. This caused Chen Daiyu to be upset with him and also ignored him.

This, in turn, distressed Shan Yijun, he ended up apologizing and playing with them in the end.

The next morning, it was the day of Chen Daiyu’s birthday party with her friends.

The whole mansion wass busy preparing the necessary things that they would need at a children’s birthday party.

Chen Feng really did his research on children’s birthday parties, he even invited a well known magician. Unlike what Chen Daiyu saw in Du Lin’s birthday which is elegant but too dull to be a children’s party, the decorations were full of color, vibrant and pretty on the eyes.

There were even balloons…

If it had been the old Chen Diayu, she wouldn’t even think of something like birthday parties. Sure she had attended some but it was undercover.

Fleeting ray of nostalgia flashed through her eyes that didn’t fit her age, but it disappeared as quickly as it came.

She turned around and saw the person who changed her life.

“Daddy!” She ran to him with a sweet smile on her face and hugged his leg, as it was the only part she could reach with her height.

Chen Feng looked like he only had his usual smile on his handsome face, but if one were to know him long enough, one would certainly know the gentleness in his eyes are no joke.

He patted her head endearingly. “Go tell Yijun and Shanxi to get ready, and you too. There’ll be guests later.”

“So early?” Chen Daiyu looked up in surprise. Chen Feng only nodded. “Okay!” She then ran up to her room and told Shan Yijun and Huo Shanxi to get ready on the way.

By the time they finished getting ready, the guests had already arrived.

Chen Daiyu and Shan Yijun were both surprised at who the early guests were. The latter had it written on his face while the former was like a calm water.

“Mrs. Fu, welcome!”  Chan Daiyu gave a smile and curtsied.

Mrs. Fu, who was holding Fu Lihua’s hand, immediately brightened at the sight of her.

“Oh my, cute and polite! If only Xiao Hua is as cute as her…” It wasn’t out of curtsy, but from the heart. She really wished that she had another daughter like Chen Daiyu. Unlike Fu Lihua, her daughter only knew how to coldly glare but she was still cutely cold!

“Ms. Fu, you must be kidding, when I first saw HuaHua, I thought she was a porcelain doll! Now I know where she gets that from.” What Chen Daiyu said was true, although Mrs. Fu was in her 30s and she still looked like in her early 20s.

“What a sweet mouth!” Mrs. Fu was completely won over by Chen daiyu.

Chen Feng on the other hand, only raised a brow on the side, he nodded towards Mrs. Fu as a greeting. Delighted, Mrs. Fu smiled brightly and nodded back. The Fu family wass a family of upstarts, for a man of influence like Chen Feng to greet her in his own accord was already an honor. Most of the families with deep roots would ignore them during a party.

Mrs. Fu was extremely flattered. Hmph, her husband said that it was only a stupid party and that he would not attend. Who knew the party was prepared by Chen Feng who was well known in their circle. Not only was he not arrogant, even his daughter was lovely!

If her husband only knew who threw the party, his intestines would definitely turn green from regret. Just thinking of that, put Mrs. Fu in a good mood on top of the good mood she had from the flattery. She happily followed Chen Daiyu along with Fu Lihua with her two ‘bodyguards’ to the reception.
