Daddy is the Big Boss - Chapter 51
Ch 51 – School (2)
“Good morning Mr. Chen, I am Lan Wu, the principal of the school, we are honored to have two children of Shan family-”
“Not Shan,” Chen Feng cut principal Lan off. Not understanding what he meant, Principal Lan paled. It was obvious from Chen Feng’s face that, despite smiling, he wasn’t pleased at all.
Fortunately, Chen Daiyu understood.
“Mr. Principal, daddy meant that daddy and I don’t belong to the Shan family. We belong to the Chen family” Chen Daiyu said, saving the principal. The principal remembered that although the general’s biological brother inherited the Shan family, the younger brother didn’t change his surname thus remaining a Chen.
“Apologies Mr. Chen,” Lan bowed.
Chen Feng waved him off. Only then did principal Lan relax.
“Mr. Wu will take the registration papers and finish the process. Due to Chen Daiyu’s special circumstances we will have her take a general knowledge test to make sure she is placed in the classroom that fits her the best.”
He guided them to a back office where a teacher was waiting for them.
“I am Jiu Heng, I will be proctoring the exam.” Jiu Heng looked like he was in his late 20s and quite strict. Not like the sort of teacher that would teach a group of children.
He guided Chen Daiyu into the room.
Chen Daiyu looked back at her father, who gave her a reassuring smile, she nodded at him and mentally told herself, I’ll pass with the best score, and confidently walked into the exam room.
“Mr. Chen would you like to wait in the office while Chen Diayu finishes the exam?”
“No need. She won’t take too long.”
Principal Lan took note of his confident tone and stood one step behind Chen Feng and followed his sight on the window where Chen Daiyu could be seen.
Principal Lan had previously suggested that Chen Daiyu should start at a preschool before moving onto primary school, since it wasn’t too late for her to catch up.
Chen Feng insisted that Chen Deiyu get a placement test.
Sensing the imminent danger, Principal Lan agreed.
Chen Daiyu sat on the small seat and table that was obviously intended for children.
When she looked up, she saw someone who she thought had left through the window. She waved at him desperately, worried that her daddy’s squinted eyes might not see her. But was worrying too much as Chen Feng waved back at her.
Teacher Jiu Heng, despite his strict face, he had no sign of impatience on his face. Chen Daiyu deducted from his traits that Teacher Jiu Heng was a mild person.
Chen Daiyu put her hand down and took the papers that were handed to her. When she read the first line, she was surprised and turned the paper for other questions.
She had actually never been too sure of her own abilities. She had to teach herself everything she knew in her past life and had never been given too much free-will by her contractors.
All her ‘school’ knowledge came from any book she could find and learn, which were far and few in between.
It was only through her teacher’s lessons that she slowly realized she was too advanced for their lessons, and the lessons went by too slowly for her liking.
Looking back to the test, Chen Daiyu wanted to laugh. The questions were easy, too easy for her. Her shoulders started shaking, but she couldn’t laugh. Though to all those around her, it looked like she was crying.
Everyone had their own thoughts, both teacher Jiu Feng and Principal Lan thought that Chen Daiyu couldn’t understand the questions as they were meant for 2nd graders. They couldn’t be blamed as Chen Feng was the one who proposed this.
Chen Feng frowned, he was about to go to her to see what was wrong but she picked up her pencil and started writing fluidly without stopping.
it only took her a few minutes to answer the test. She put down her pencil and gave the papers to teacher Jiu Heng to check and ran off to act spoiled with her dad.
Teacher Jiu Heng thought that she would fail the test and enter preschool as the school had previously arranged. He would never have thought that not only the answers are all correct, the little girl answered ebertging in less than ten minutes. The calligraphy of the writer was also sharp and bold, a bit unlike the usual fonts of children but one can still tell that a child wrote it.
