Chapter 29 – shopping trip (1)

“Yijun?” Chen Daiyu knocked on the door next to her room. 

She had asked a servant on the way where Shan Yijun’s room was and was surprised to find out it was right next to hers.

After hearing something heavy hit the floor and messy foot steps, she worriedly looked at the door knob that was higher up than she could comfortably reach, contemplating whether or not to pick it. 

Her thoughts were cut off the moment the door creaked open and Shan Yijun peeked out. With a single look, Chen Daiyu could tell that he had been crying.

His eyes were so swollen that Chen Daiyu couldn’t even see them.

“Y-Yu Yu, I just woke up haha” 

Chen Daiyu: “…”

Chen Daiyu kept staring so much at his miserable face that she was unable to properly respond.

“A-anyway, are you okay? If not we can’t go later…” Chen Daiyu was talking about their plan later, but how could Shan Yijun miss the opportunity to talk one-on-one with his cousin? He immediately waved his hand.

“No, no, we’ll be going. Please ask a servant to deliver some ice, we’ll be going out a bit!” Perhaps from excitement, he accidentally almost slammed the door in Chen Daiyu’s face.

Chen Daiyu was speechless. She waved to a servant cleaning nearby and asked her nicely to bring some ice for Shan Yijun. Chen Daiyu looked so docile that she immediately captured the young lady’s heart. The servant heeded her request while she went back to her room to change for more comfortable clothes that she could wear to the mall.

When they went out, they brought at least 6 bodyguards and took a limousine.

Chen Daiyu: “…”

She turned to Shan Yijun, who looked used to this treatment, “isn’t this a bit excessive?”

“Not at all, our parents are military officers. They have made many enemies during their fights, so naturally, many of them would try to harm us,” Shan Yijun used his hand to support his chin and leaned on the window. He looked like a cool mature boy that any common child would admire from afar.

But in Chen Daiyu’s eyes, he was just a kid pretending to be cool. She could see a faint blush in his cheeks and a suppressed smile on his lips. 

She couldn’t help but laugh inside.

Although it’s understandable to have bodyguards… isn’t it too flashy to ride out a limousine when you’re just going to the mall?!?

No matter how smart Chen Daiyu was, she would never guess that Shan Yijun’s classmates were in the mall right now, and he wanted her to have the “coolest” entrance…

He still remembered how she looked with blood dripping down her face and her fierce eyes that resembled the people he respected the most, his uncle and dad. She fearlessly pointed a gun at someone without trembling.

He wanted his friends to see her like that as well … to see how cool she was!

With his nose pointed in the air and his reddish eyes, he pursed his lips to suppress an excited smile. Seeing him like that, Chen Daiyu shivered for some reason. She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when she saw him making that proud face out of nowhere.

“Young master, we have arrived,” Shan Yijun snapped out of his trance and became, once again, the cold and mature boy.

The bodyguards lined up, 3 on each side of the door, making a small path. And just ahead of them were a group of kids who looked like they came from very rich families, with servants who carried their bags and umbrellas.

Ah, no wonder.

She had just arrived yesterday and she was already shopping today, it wasn’t like she had nothing to wear. Shan Yijun must have wanted her to meet his friends.

The only thing that Chen Daiyu was uneasy about was that their whole group was simply too eye-catching!
