Chapter 21- Official Meeting

Shan Yijun

Xiao Daiyu froze after she heard that name. She kept denying it, it couldn’t be. 

She followed Lu Ji and Shan Yijun towards their car in the car. Shan Yijun, on the other hand, was having a small crisis. His cousin hadn’t said anything after hearing his name, was it that bad? He silently chastised his father for giving him such a name.  

Meanwhile, Lu Ji was making mental preparations. They were going to meet Xiao Diayu’s father at a restaurant. He should already be there, he just wasn’t sure what to tell the kid. 

As they approached the restaurant, he turned back to look at the back seat. Seeing Xiao Daiyu in a daze he sighed, he would leave it a surprise.

Once they got out of the car, Lu Ji turned to Xiao Daiyu, “hey … so you know how I haven’t talked again about your dad?” Xiao Daiyu nodded absentmindedly. “Well, we are actually here to meet him.”

Xiao Diayu snapped out of her thoughts on Shan Yijun’s name and looked up at Lu Ji in surprise. 

“Huh?”

Lu Ji snickered, “he was also hospitalized during these weeks, he wanted to officially meet you after he was released.”

After that he simply walked into the restaurant. Xiao Daiyu was rooted to her spot, absolutely flabbergasted, she looked at the restaurant where, in one of the private rooms, this body’s father was waiting for her. She felt excited, but also terrified. What if he didn’t like her? What if he realized that she was a fake?

She didn’t want to suddenly get a family to just lose it just as quickly.

Xiao Diayu took a deep breath, she made a resolution that she would make sure she wouldn’t lose her family, no matter what she had to do. 

She looked at Shan Yijun, who was still waiting for her, and took his hand to walk into the restaurant. 

Inside, a waitress was waiting with Lu Ji for them and guided them to their private room. Every step Xiao Diayu felt heavier and heavier, she couldn’t believe she was this nervous. 

Once they stopped, Xiao Daiyu looked at the door. She looked at Lu Ji who was simply waiting by her side, waiting for her to open the door. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door. 

Looking up, she saw someone unexpected.

It was Chen Feng.

He stood up as soon as the door opened, and looked at her. He smiled awkwardly and approached her. 

Xiao Daiyu took a step into the room, and looked back at Shan Yijun, nervous, but was surprised to find that they had left, closing the door behind her. 

She looked back at Chen Feng, who was now kneeling in front of her with a bouquet of flowers, she hastily accepted them.

“Umm, … hi”

Chen Feng chuckled at her awkwardness, but was no better himself. He felt guilty of everything that his daughter had to go through. 

“Want to eat lunch with me?”

Xiao Diayu nodded, not sure of what to say. She was happy. So happy that it was Chen Feng who was behind the door. She wasn’t sure why she felt so safe with him around, but she was sure that she liked being around him.

Chen Feng put her on the chair and told a waiter to bring in the dishes he had previously ordered. Xiao Diayu was surprised to find that the dishes were similar to what she had previously eaten before he left her in the orphanage. 

She looked at him a bit doubtful, but seeing him smile happily at her she decided not to ask. 

They chatted peacefully during lunch and every once in a while Chen feng would put dishes on her plate and she would try to do the same for him, but she couldn’t quite reach his plate. 

Once they were done, Chen Feng led her out of the restaurant.

“Where are we going?”

“We’re going home”
