Crownless: The Fallen World - Chapter 49
The president’s eyes wandered over to Julian and the hologram screen with nostalgia. “Yes… he’s my dad and the former head of the administration, Raoul McKenna.”
“Yeah! Totally knew that!” Julian exclaimed, showing her a smug smile.Â
“I see now… it was strange that I saw striking similarities between the two of them,” Cielle nodded, showing Raoul stirring from his sleep.Â
“Daddy…” Zadie called out softly.Â
Daddy?! What? Whaaaat?!
“Daddy? McKenna, you’re surprisingly a daddy’s girl! Haha!”Â
“Who?” Raoul groggily asked, his deep voice seethed through. His authoritative aura didn’t diminish at all!Â
“It’s me, dad… Zadie,” the president pointed at herself, almost desperately. The man looked at her, confused, but later, his face showed realization.Â
“My daughter?! It’s been six years since I last saw you! You’ve grown so well, Z… you became such a striking lady,” Raoul’s expression softened as he gently talked to his daughter.Â
The other seemed to notice that the father and daughter were in their own world now. Six years was a lot of years of separation and they needed a long time to catch up. They didn’t want to intrude something so heartwarming, thus, Julian and Axel pushed the others out of the room as they were escorted out by the men in uniforms.Â

Cielle removed a small part of her Holowrist and gave it to Raoul who enthusiastically conversed with his daughter. The hologram stayed on Raoul’s sight, being projected by the small chip on his hand.Â
The albino left them in peace then went to fetch Bonham. She saw him extinguishing the last of the houses, leaving the building charred black. The bodies of the townspeople were of ash; never knowing if there were still survivors from the fire. Though she silently hoped that no harm would befall her companions right now.Â
“Tavis, got a minute?” She suddenly asked while Bonham threw water arrows in a few places to make sure not a speck of fire remained.Â
“Yeah, I have right now. What?” He asked, slinging his ebony bow on his shoulder.Â
“I informed the president that we’ll take the responsibility of taking these people home. Though they might accept punishments because of what they’d done,” Cielle said, her voice slowly being inaudible.Â
“What of it?”Â
The albino shook her head then smiled at Bonham, “Never mind. We’ll just get their contact infos first then get them home. Also, Tavis…” she paused, looking at Bonham with profound eyes.
“What… ?” He nervously asked.Â
“You’ll get a punishment too.”Â
“Huh?! Wha-”Â
“Let’s get going and do work. We have to finish before the McKennas could end their catching up,” Cielle interrupted. She never took any chances as she immediately went to a man, speaking and handing him a clean piece of paper.Â
Bonham’s mouth opened then closed like a fish, not knowing what to say. He just groaned and stomped his way to a man he needed to get out an info from. Like interrogation, right?Â
“Yeah, screw it!”Â
Even after Bonham and Cielle got all of the contact details and set the necessary things for their companions, Raoul and Zadie still continued their conversation. That was indeed a lot of catch up.Â
“Lee, did you load enough money in your Holowrist to maintain a four hour call?” Bonham said while giving stacks of paper at Cielle.Â
“I put a worth of 50,000 Kline… and that was three weeks ago? Not sure.”Â
“Check the balance, stupid,” Bonham accidentally said, cupping his mouth in horror. Surprisingly, the albino only nodded her head before checking the amount left in her.Â
The man patted his chest as he sighed in relief, though his face was still purple in that little scare.Â
“Oh. I only have 460 Kline left… how the heck?”Â
“It’s not the time to mind that! Tell them they only have around three hours of talking,” Bonham said.Â
Cielle looked incredulously at the male as if he was a crazy man for worrying about this tiny detail. “You’re nuts. Let them and the call will eventually end in three hours anyway. Maybe they’ll end it before three hours. Why bother telling?”Â
“What if the both of them did ended up talking for another three hours?!”
“Don’t care? Let it be,” the female’s eyes lit up and grabbed Bonham’s arms.Â
“Wha-wha… what?”Â
“Cook for us again. I’m hungry,” the albino practically gave him a puppy eye which made the male’s eyes twitch.Â
He laughed inwardly. If he didn’t know the fact that this woman was cruel and crazy on top of that, he might fall and soften in front of her and do anything she wanted. But no! Nope! Thankfully, he already knew the hard fact and not been tricked by it. Hah!
However, disobeying means pain. He had no choice but to nod and went off to get some ingredients to cook.Â

Axel along with the members of his group were seated in a room just next to the previous room they were in. It was already six hours and they still hadn’t heard anything from the president.Â
They already played anything to kill time, but they were almost out of it.Â
“When will it end?!” Kaia finally grumbled and rested her cheek on the wooden table.Â
Trystan was picking the loose thread of the leather couch he was in then pulled it. A part of the couch was suddenly bare as he sighed, “No idea. Ask Sir Axel. He knew the president enough.”Â
They all looked at Axel whose head was thrown back and his sitting figure splayed on the spacious couch. He blew a fringe out of his face then said, “It’ll take a long time for sure… Let’s just sleep…”Â
However, Julian’s attention was nowhere near their conversation. Instead, it was on a weird elevation of the wooden table and a single symbol on the side stood out from the rest like a sore thumb. The thickness was also strange since his huge hands couldn’t exactly grab the width.Â
Out of curiosity, he pushed the symbol and smoke came out of the table, startling everyone from their seats.Â
“FIRE!” Trystan yelled. He was about to run but was held back by Adelaide.Â
In that instant, Zadie came in and was surprised when she saw the wooden table was opened. She was perplexed as to how and who.Â
“Who opened it?”Â
She caught their attention and everyone pointed at Julian, who also subconsciously pointed at himself then withdrew his hands when he knew what he just did.
