Crownless: The Fallen World - Chapter 41
The trip to the island took them for approximately two days and they were almost near the shore at the estimated arrival of five hours.
Though there was something strange in Adelaide’s behavior and Kaia was too grumpy to be approached. The guys were too confused but they decided to let it slide as they started to change the battery of the yacht and did maintenance on the engine.
When they finished, Axel retreated into the kitchen to cook some fish they caught on the way. Trystan was sipping his canned orange juice as he walked towards the deck, watching how the bright yellow sun painted the blue ocean with its own color. He felt the cold wind gently brushed his face, tickling every pore on his skin.
He sighed in contentment as he finished his drink. His gaze moved towards the two girls, talking as they slowly ate their sweets and teas. It was when Kaia stood up from her seat that his eyes couldn’t leave the back of the said girl.
Adelaide suddenly yanked her back and Kaia complained but when the smaller female mentioned something that made Kaia blush. She forcefully got Adelaide’s copper jacket then wrapped it around her waist. The jacket mostly covered her butt as she suddenly brisked towards their sleeping quarters.
Trystan tilted his head and as he opened another can of orange juice. Then Julian came and called him, “Stop drinking that canned juice and eat. Axel cooked prawns, grilled lobster and some seaweed something.”
“Hey,” Trystan called, not tearing his gaze at Adelaide who was happily scooping ice cream from her large cup.
“What? Not in the mood to eat? I’ll be sure to not leave some for−”
“What is the red patch I saw on Naomi’s bum?” Trystan shamelessly asked as he drank the rest of his juice.
Julian was blank for a long moment. His stupor was only broken when the large man repeatedly called his name. He laughed awkwardly as he coughed, “That… uh… this is embarrassing to say. Let’s just say… that women bleed once a month?”
“Are they having an internal injury every month? Is it terminal?”
“Uh… no, I don’t think so. Ahaha… Can you call your mother and let her explain things to you? I’m not in a position to give a detailed explanation…” Julian slowly stepped back, his voice becoming little as he gained distance from Trystan, “So, I’m just going to go off and eat!”
“I don’t think mother will answer my call,” He said before he decided to just send his question to his mother’s phone.
Finally, after long hours of waiting, they arrived near the shoreline of the island. Before the towering palm trees rooted under the white sand, there were a few people who were armed from their chest to their feet. They each hold a few modified guns as they surveyed their surroundings diligently.
Axel retrieved a flare and shot it towards the shoreline, it was stopped by a particle barrier then a loud explosion came next. The people inside the barrier were surprised that they immediately drew their weapon and pointed it wherever they could.
They tilted their heads when they didn’t find anything outside of the barrier. It was so strange. Looking up at the blue sky to find something, but they didn’t. One guard, probably their leader base from the suit he was wearing, opened his Holowrist then called.
“Oh… right. I forgot that we activated the invisible function of the yacht…” Axel chuckled nervously while scratching the back of his head. He began to run inside the control room when he received their menacing glare, deactivating the said function.
While the group outside waved frantically towards the shore, successfully trying to catch the attention they needed. However, their luxury yacht was shot down.

“This is Aires?” Sylvia asked as she traced the frozen figure of the said male.
“Yeah and this is the scientist I told you about,” Hale motioned towards the hologram as the middle-aged man nodded his head with recognition towards the female.
The room was now getting too cold to bear and Hale was glad that he got more stacks of clothes that he literally became a huge ball with all the fabric he was wearing, oh, and the little boy was in the same condition too.
“Well, Mr. Scientist, what shall I do?”
“You just have to put your hand on this young man’s heart and feel the core of the ice energy.”
Sylvia nodded then kneeled down before Aires as she gently touched the male’s chest, eyes closed and brows furrowed.
Hale exhaled then thick mist came out along his hot breath. He patiently watched how Sylvia began to guide the ice energy into her body and wincing as she forced these violent particles into her feeble and fragile body.
The middle-aged man nodded with a wide smile plastered on his face, satisfaction evident on his aging face as if he could finally retire and have the vacation he always longed for. Then he focused his attention towards the little child behind Hale, clutching the older’s pants and eyes glued at Aires.
“Leo, how are you?”
The sudden question rang inside the enclosed space of the room, becoming too loud for the poor child.
Leo’s face became aghast, his small hands clenched tighter on the fabric of Hale’s pants and his small frame sunk behind the older’s large frame. His mouth gaped but he closed it until he decided to greet the man back, “Doctor Garnwyn… I… I’m fine.”
Hale’s eyes darted from the child behind him to the middle-aged man; he raised a brow and internally thought, ‘What’s going on?’
“It’s been a while since we last saw each other. Do you have any plans to come back here?”
“None,” he shook his head and hid more, whispering words that only Hale could hear, “I don’t want to go back to that cold place…”
“Don’t worry. Aires and I will keep you,” Hale whispered back, combing through the child’s soft white hair.
“That’s such a shame. You were so attached to us in your toddler years. I just wanted to go back in time and relive those memories, don’t you think, little Leo?”
