Villain Rescue System - Chapter 35

A minute later, just when Yan Li thought that she should not answer, there was a stuttering sound on the phone.

The voice on the other side was cold, “Yes?”

Yan Li thought, ‘It’s nothing.’

But he just wanted to call her.

After a long time, he only choked out, “…Happy New Year.” 

She was silent for a while, then said, “It’s so noisy over there.”

Yan Li glanced over, the fireworks outside the window and the sound of the TV were loud.

He entered the inner bedroom, and after closing the doors and windows, the surroundings were much quieter.

He asked, “Are you busy?”

“No, going to sleep.”

“Oh, then you go to sleep.” 

That was what he said, but he didn’t hang up.

And Wen Long didn’t hang up.

She felt that Yan Li’s voice sounded a little strange, and his articulation was a little slurred, as if he had been drinking. The villain being drunk was an abnormal thing in itself. She was afraid that something would happen, so she listened patiently for a while.

However, listening to Yan Li’s movements, he was still quite obedient. His alcoholic habits would not be bad.

After a while, Yan Li suddenly told her about the recent company affairs, which were all trivial matters.

Wen Long wasn’t very interested, but she didn’t interrupt, and occasionally responded with “um”.

She was lying on the bed, already sleepy, and hearing him talk about those boring things now, she got even more sleepy.

For the first ten minutes, she could barely reply to him, but after that, she fell silent and fell asleep.

Yan Li didn’t hear her voice for a long time, so he stopped talking.

The shallow breathing came from the phone, very steady.

He put the phone next to the pillow and listened to the sound of breathing on the phone, only to feel that the alcohol burned his chest and throat.

He admitted something.

He was really thinking about her a lot…

Because in addition to studying in university for a few years, he had been busy with entrepreneurship, so when he graduated from the undergraduate program, Yan Li already had a large-scale company in his hands.

She did not directly work and start a business like Yan Li, but after graduation, she studied for Ph.D.

Two years later, when Wen Long almost completely forgot about Yan Li, he suddenly contacted her.

He brought many things when he went to see her; the property certificate of the villa, the documents of the company’s shares, and the certificate of all deposits.

“You promised me,” he pushed these things in his hands to her with a blank expression.

 Wen Long just glanced at it and said,”Oh… well, I’ll take you into consideration.”

Yan Li looked at her intently, “Consider? What do you mean?”

“Literally.”

“You promised me, if I can do well, you will…”

He suddenly stopped.

At that time, Wen Long did say “consider”.

He seemed to be frozen in place, and he didn’t speak again.

While he was in a daze, Wen Long looked at him carefully.

Over the past few years, the villain was more calm.

Yan Li should have rushed over from the company. His suit jacket was placed on the chair, revealing the tie and shirt inside, and he wore black trousers, with a bit of the majesty between his eyebrows. 

 Only through the pupils under the thin and slender eyelashes one could still see a bit of the gloomy atmosphere of the former youth.

“That’s it!” Wen Long stood up and turned to leave. But just as she took a few steps, she heard the hoarse plea of the person behind her, “I can make more money, and I will do better than everyone else you like.”

“What do you want? I can give it to you…”

Wen Long’s footsteps stagnated, and her cat eyes narrowed suddenly.

That demon was somehow attracted by the words and the glazed eyes with her back turned to Yan Li seemed to turn into a deep purple like wisteria flower in an instant.     

She turned her head, “You just said you can give me anything I want?”

“If I want your most precious thing, can you give it to me too?” 

Wen Long raised the corners of her lips with interest, and said word by word, “Okay, I agree.”

The day Wen Long went home with Yan Li to ask for her household registration book, Wen Wenyuan was half-dead with anger.

Even with all precautions, he still failed to prevent this little wolf cub.

Looking at the asset certificates provided by Yan Li, he finally could only wave his hand and agree with them.

Although he was not satisfied with Yan Li, he was a little moved by his long-term commitment.

After all, in Wen Wenyuan’s heart, Yan Li had always liked his daughter since high school, and it had been ten years.

Yan Li was very efficient in his work, and he held the wedding not long after receiving the certificate.
