Yan Li had a good time that summer.

At least, in his perception, that was a good vacation. He had earned a lot of money from working in the Wen House, enough for him to eat every meal.

He bought and cooked his own food, and had meat and milk every day.

Several times in the supermarket when he saw discounted old bread or cheap dried noodles on the shelf, he wanted to put them all into the basket but stopped.

Wen Long didn’t seem to like him eating these, and especially hated it when he got thinner.

He hadn’t learned how to turn that large sum of money into investment funds, and it was also too risky.

Yan Li bought some books online and read a lot of things about investment.

He stayed in his room and had no other activities that required going out every day. He only went out to buy ingredients.

There were also former classmates who asked him out even though Yan Li was not familiar with them. He refused them one by one.

On the last day of vacation, he packed his suitcases.

The ticket he bought was at 5:20 in the afternoon.

Wen Ruan asked him in advance and bought a ticket for the same trip, but Father and Mother Wen were also following her.

As for Wen Long, although her wound was almost healed, it was not suitable for her to go on a long journey for the time being, so she did not go with them.

As for why Yan Li knew this, it was because he asked aloud, “Will Wen Long go too?”

He was also heard by Father Wen who scolded him.

Before leaving, he looked at the clean room for a long time. He wouldn’t come back for at least half a year.

He opened the phone and glanced at it.

Either way, it was time to leave.

He took out a small mirror from the drawer and looked at the finely trimmed hair and the face that had changed a lot from less than a year ago.

Yan Li looked in the mirror and squeezed out a smile.

He would do better from then on.

Maybe that was happiness.

One year later, Yan Li and Wen Ruan ended their freshman year at A University, and Wen Long also completed her first college entrance examination.

At that moment, she was resting in the room, chatting with the system.

[I observed the performance of the villain this year, it is really amazing.] The system couldn’t help but exclaim.

As Wen Long said, as long as Yan Li was given a chance to climb, he would spare no effort.

After Yan Li entered the A University, in just one freshman year, his assets of several thousand gold became more than ten times.

His ambition was not to study and engage in scientific research, but to study for only one purpose, that was, to earn more money and live a better life.

It sounded cheap, but for him, money was everything.

There was nothing more important than living a good life.

There were many scholars at A University, and there were also many business people with money and brains. Yan Li used his own capital to cooperate with seniors to start a business.

He was smart, and the amount of input in his spare time was far more than ordinary people. In just one year, he had assets that ordinary people may not be able to earn for decades.

[His vision is very accurate, and his ability to predict risks is also terrifyingly accurate. Give him another ten years, I am afraid that Yan Li will have more property than the Wen family.]

Wen Long was not surprised.

[Also… He gained a few pounds more than when he was at the time of the college entrance examination, and he is much stronger.]

Wen Long raised her eyebrows, wondering why the system would tell her that.

But she still responded, “Oh, it seems that the villain is having a good time in university.”

[…]

The system said nothing.

It actually felt that Yan Li seemed to be having a bad time.

His self-discipline was terrifying, the time of eating and sleeping had never changed every day, and he was always running and exercising, obviously in good condition…

But it was the feeling that there was always a thin layer of shadow in Yan Li’s eyes.

There was a feeling of depression that it couldn’t describe.

[By the way, you would also be going to A University, right?] The system asked.

It looked at Wen Long’s answer sheet, and although she deliberately suppressed herself, it was more than enough to go to A University.

Wen Long took a mouthful of watermelon and replied, “Probably.”

She frowned slightly.

In fact, she had considered changing to another university, after all, Yan Li was also in A University.

But on second thought, although she wasn’t good to Yan Li at the beginning, he shouldn’t hold any grudge against her. So she simply gave up on changing schools on purpose.

…

In the boys’ dormitory, Yan Li came back from the library with a schoolbag on his back.

“Hey, Yan Li, are you going to the welcoming party of the new students this year?” It was his roommate who asked that.

It was a two-person dormitory, and its environment was quite good.

“No.”

“If you volunteer, you’ll get more points…”

“Oh, I’m not going.”

It would be better to read a book for a while.

Yan Li returned to his table and saw two more cakes on it.

“By the way, I almost forgot to say that the cake was given by a girl in our university. I brought it to you. There are also love letters for you, which are all on the table.”

The roommate was jealous.

Tsk, the person looked good, so he got different treatment.

He lived with Yan Li for a year, and he saw people delivering things to him every other day, and he received confessions almost every week.

It didn’t matter if he just looked good, his results were good, and most importantly he was so rich.

He accidentally caught a glimpse of the balance on Yan Li’s phone.

Did God close the window for him?! How could they be so different from one another?!

The roommate was frustrated.

He considered himself to be an excellent existence among his peers. When he was admitted to A University, everyone around him envied him.

Only now did he realize that some things really couldn’t be made up by hard work alone.

“Don’t take them next time,” Yan Li threw the cakes into the trash can.

He already had enough money and didn’t need to eat food given by others.
