The number of mecha and battleship crashes also continued to rise.

Wen Li followed the instructions to protect the mechas that were about to be crushed by alien attacks.

However, nearly 10,000 mechas were participating in that war. No matter how fast his program ran, he couldn’t take care of everything. So the task was less than fifty percent complete.

On Achill’s battlefield before, Wen Li’s order completion rate was as high as 99%.

He completed almost all the instructions given by the King of Achill without any mistakes.

But even if his running speed had reached the highest point, half of the mechas could not be rescued.

Wen Li realized that protecting those people seemed more difficult than killing them.

…

The consumption of combat mechas on soldiers was enormous.

Most of the people couldn’t hold on on the second day and returned to the ground to replenish their strength. And high-level spiritual power holders could fight for a little longer.

More than a dozen S-level spiritual power holders, including Wen Long, were fighting in the first battlefield closest to the black spot.

But until the fourth day, their spiritual power was almost exhausted.

Most of the S-level spiritual power holders in the first battlefield were the generals of the Achill Empire.

They knew when to fight to the death and when to take a break.

That war with no visible end at all obviously did not belong to the former.

Realizing that their spiritual power was on the verge of exhaustion, they decisively chose to return to the ground.

Huo Yuxing, was on the first battlefield with Wen Long. Although his mental strength  was not exhausted, it was still consumed a lot.

He cooperated with the few people who were still on the battlefield.

Huo Yuxing naturally noticed the existence of the A.I above Wen Long’s mecha.

But he had no time to think about why this former imperial weapon appeared there, and why it had the ability to fight.

Just dealing with these aliens was enough to exhaust him.

Until night fell, the S-level spiritual power holders who landed and recovered their mental strength  returned to the battlefield.

At the same time, Wen Long discovered that Lan Xi’s mecha began to make operational errors.

“Lan Xi, it’s time for you to withdraw from the battlefield.”

Huo Yuxing also noticed her abnormality, and said seriously, “Lan Xi, retreat to the ground.”

Lan Xi in the mecha clenched her teeth and said stubbornly, “It’s okay.” It was not just Lan Xi, Wen Li, who had been shooting frequently, also slowed down.

After finishing dealing with the aliens nearby, Wen Long took advantage of the gap to ask, “Wen Li, what’s the problem?”

“Master, it’s just that the constant thermostat system has failed.”

The long-term high-speed operation caused the constant thermostat system to overload.

Wen Long frowned.

Although her mental strength still had room for consumption, after more than three days of fighting, her state inevitably declined.

If she stayed any longer, it would have no meaning except to overdraw all her mental strength .

Once the mental strength gets exhausted, it would be very difficult to recover.

“Lan Xi, let’s go down together.”

Wen Long didn’t intend to fight, and directly manipulated the mecha to change direction.

“…Understood,” Lan Xi’s mecha followed hers, heading toward the ground together.

[The female lead seems to be more mature than in the original plot when facing the aliens.]

In the plot, in the first battle with the aliens, Lan Xi never quit the battlefield due to her emotional overdrive.

That battle caused her mental strength to be severely damaged, and it took a long time to recover.

…

In a certain corner of the capital, two mechas landed slowly.

Wen Long dismantled Wen Li’s constant thermostat system, and took out the repair tools from the mecha for maintenance.

Wen Long still had the energy to repair things, but Lan Xi didn’t. Only then did she realize how scary her state on the battlefield was.

Lan Xi’s gaze turned to Wen Long.

She couldn’t ever be as calm as her.

That person, even if she saw the most desperate scene, could make a rational judgment.

Lan Xi thought to herself, ‘Anyway, it’s been five years since I lost, so it’s no big deal to lose again.’

“Master, I found the nutrient solution and food.”

Wen Li came back from the outside with a handful of food and several nutrient solutions in his arms.

Wen Long thanked him and gave some of it to Lan Xi.

Sitting there, they could vaguely hear the cries of people in the capital as they were attacked by aliens.

Lan Xi was holding a bag of jerky, feeling desperate and guilt brought by rest, so she couldn’t eat it no matter what.

But Wen Long seemed to not hear it.

“Wen Long, I can’t eat,” Lan Xi stretched out her hand, trying to return the food to her.

Wen Long noticed her reaction and remained silent.

Humans were not completely rational species, she could understand Lan Xi’s reaction.

Lan Xi hesitated for a while, but decided to ask the question she had been thinking about for a long time, “What do you think about the situation with these intruders?”

“…Not very optimistic.”

Wen Long leaned against the wall, combined her thoughts with the direction of the plot, and told Lan Xi, “According to the examples of other invaders in the interstellar world, generally the races that choose to invade have only two purposes. The first is to occupy as their homeland was destroyed and they have nowhere to go, and the second is to plunder resources and expand their territories.”

Lan Xi’s face changed slightly.

Judging from their aggressiveness when they entered Achill, it was obviously the latter.

“So far, we have killed less than a quarter of the aliens transported from the black spot, and they will continue to transport. The aliens that have not been killed spread to each of Achill’s territory, then they can reproduce and continue their race like humans. Until finally, they will completely replace humans and become the real masters of this planet.”

She continued, “The ‘gate’ to send them over requires at least a few years to reach the number that would completely invade Achill.”

“Not only that, but the aliens that will cover the entire Achill after that are the most troublesome.”

Lan Xi sucked in a breath of air.

Her voice trembled almost imperceptibly, “Won’t Achill perish like this?”

“Not necessarily. If we can find a way to block the black spot that transports the aliens, there is still hope.”

Wen Long looked at the huge black spot.

If she used her strength, she could block that thing.

[Don’t try to change the important plot, this will bring serious consequences.]

Wen Long: “Well, I understand.”

She wouldn’t interfere.

Achill didn’t need her intervention either. In the plot, humans found a way to block the hole in just three months.

It was just a pity that three months was enough time for those guys to take root in Achill.

“This war will last for a long time.”

Lan Xi lowered her head, and mechanically stuffed the food that she planned to return to Wen Long into her mouth.

She didn’t speak, so Wen Long went on to adjust the thermostat system in her hand.

“It’s fixed.”

Wen Long put the thermostat back on Wen Li.

Wen Li lowered his head and waited for her to operate, as if he was a king waiting to be crowned.

After the device was installed, he stared at Wen Long’s face for a while, then suddenly got up and sat down next to her.

Seeing him sitting beside her, Wen Long asked strangely, “What’s the matter?”

Wen Li shook his head, “You look tired, you should rest.”

He saw that her eyes were a little swollen, which was very different from the previous state.

Wen Long was indeed very tired.

Although she didn’t use her mental strength too much like Lan Xi did, the mecha battle for several days almost drained her energy.

Wen Li sat beside her. He shrugged his shoulders slightly with an obvious meaning.

She then leaned on Wen Li’s shoulder, closed her eyes and rested.

The temperature on Wen Li’s body was warm.

To let Wen Long have a better rest, he raised the temperature.

“Don’t waste energy on such useless things.”

“…Okay.”

Wen Li couldn’t disobey the order, and silently turned off the thermostat system.

Lan Xi watched in a daze.

Were combat A.I so caring?
