They got punished but none had the self reflection especially her mother. But then not everyone learns after suffering. With Su Xingchen’s personality she ignored people who didn’t care about her. She didn’t do things like settling accounts or face-slapping which gives us viewers instant gratification but this kind of indifference was good too. Also I loved Cheng Kangyao. Haha, I wouldn’t have thought I would like a green haired guy. (Well I like Moss head Zoro too. ) But Kanyao is just cute.

Really, really good story. Our Green Emperor is the highlight of this novel. The friendships, the teacher-student relationships, the adoptive family are all so sweet, and the ending was a nice touch to unite both worlds for Xingchen and Kangayo to reach immortality and live together forever.
Although, this did not have the face slapping and exaggerated revenge other C novels have, the ending of the Su family is more realistic because it was all brought on by their own decisions, it was more practical and it kept the integrity of Xingchen, how she truly did not care about them no matter what they did.
I loved the message, I loved the found family Xingchen and Kangayo had in the Shā mà tés, how much Kangayo became a home for Xingchen, how Xingchen remained firm in her wishes and goals.

Thanks for translating to the end. Although a little odd how it jumped around from school to cultivation to entertainment world, generally I enjoyed it. Cheng Kangyao is one of the sweeter ML I’ve come across – I’m glad he had a long life.
So was everything in the story an illusion as she worked out her heart demon to break through to immortality? Technically that wouldn’t make sense considering the story shows so many POV from other characters, but I can see that as a possibility. It was a bit confusing, but it seemed like she needed to resolve her first life before she could ascend, and then Kangyao became her son…not sure why there was a nine month wait for him to appear, since she didn’t actually birth him. I do feel sorry that in her first life she ever liked Zhong-whatever and got into fights over him. That was never really fleshed out well enough to be believable.

Now that she fulfilled it, her soul returned and she advanced in cultivation. Wow… this ending is a pretty good one. Never see that coming. A bit hasty though… i mean i really want to know abt Mrs Chen and Teacher Ke… Side story about Curly, Chubby and Su XingYang and his partner.

Yep and she returned to her second life and Cheng Kangyo reborned in that cultivation realm. Yep… Su Xingchen can be considered as craddle stealer if they ended as a couple when Kangyo became an adult. The story could also turn into pure teacher and pupil relationship if Kangyo dont remember his past life.

I say this novel is a solid 5 star for me. I read this story out of pure boredom, not expecting much at first. When you have no expectations, you enjoy the flow of the story as it is—and surprisingly, the romance of this story is a gem. Very realistic presentation of characters. No side chara is flat. It makes you wish you have your own Shamate emperor, and it also makes you want to burn that Old Lady Su alive. I wish I can let the author know how much I appreciate his/her work, but for now, I can only thank the translator for giving us English readers a chance to enjoy such a good story

Thank you for translating it and the notes about cultural aspects, it was very much appreciated. Honestly though I only finished this book because I was bored, it’s very mediocre. It seems like the author had no clear view of what they wanted for the story or swapped what they wanted. Too much time was spent on the school arc in repetitive detail. So many things were repeated in 1 chapter at times that it got tiring. Would have been nicer if there was no cultivation and it was more of a love story. Which is funny because I originally picked it up because the idea of cultivating after being reborn is what made me start this novel. Also wish she was nicer to her brother.

How did I read 495 chapters of this utter garbage?
It’s obviously the author gave up around chapter 450-460 and just decided to cram it all down to write something else.
And what was that ending. There must’ve been some loss in translation because I don’t actually know what happened.
Also- bit of a plot hole- she never taught him how to cultivate but instead waited for him to die and be reborn? Now what? She’s married to a baby? And what happened to her daughter? She just up and left her?
Was she meditating for a thousand years or one year?

I really liked the love story, it didn’t seem so dazzling but it really warmed you to the bottom of your heart.
And the Su family elders and daughter learned…. nothing! They never figured out that the way they lived was wrong and never took any responsibility for anything.
