A photo of the room lights was also attached with the time and date.
Many people came out and said that it was true.
But whether it was true or not, no one knew. Anyway, fans believed that it was true, they were moved to tears by Su Xingchen.
#Our idol works so hard, why can’t we not work hard?##
#Different Shā mǎ tè, different fireworks!##
Originally because Su Xingchen didn’t participate in the competition and went to acting, fans were influenced by haters. After seeing this topic, knowing that Su Xingchen only slept for four hours every day and studied hard even during rest time, they actually picked up their books and started to study.
Those who had dropped out of school to learn craftsmanship also went to study it.
Not only did she affect many of the Sha ma taes who were as confused as her before on the Internet, it was also reported by some news mediafir that many parents used her as an example to educate their children.
“Look at Su Xingchen. She is a big star but still studies while filming, and studies till four o’clock in the night…”
“Mom, two o’clock.”
“When did you study like her? If you could put half of her efforts, I won’t have to worry about you!”
The children who were scolded by their parents were very helpless, “Well, I will do my homework, okay?”
“Don’t just say that, what do you insist on? What do you think of sleeping a few hours a day? Didn’t you see the news? She is the second winner of the National Mathematics League. I don’t expect you to take the second prize of the national but the second prize of the province could be taken, right?”
The children couldn’t stand it, “Mom, you think that winning the second prize in the city is Chinese cabbage?(m. available easily) She has a good memory. Give me a good life, I will also win the national second prize!”
Their parents teased them, “You just have a big mouth. Go do your homework.”
Father and Mother Su of H city naturally saw the online news.
The uncle and aunt lived in a remote place, and they usually had no time to surf the Internet. Even if they looked at the news, they watched their local news. They usually watched TV shows and didn’t watch movies.
There was no cinema in their town yet.
Father Su read the news and was watching TV with relish. Mother Su came and slammed the TV off, “Is there anything good looking at these useless things every day?”
Father Su quickly turned on the TV and stared at Mother Su, “Why is it useless? I’m watching the news about my daughter. She works so hard, and she brought glory to me too.”
“Are you dreaming? Has she regarded you as her dad? She hasn’t come back for the Chinese New Year in the last two years. How long has she visited us? Have you ever counted? Really, the horse’s jaws don’t fit into a cow’s head. (m. This expression describes how the reply one gets does not answer the question one asked)”
She satirized him and pointed at him, “I am telling you, Yueyue has her college entrance examination in a month, and so the family must be absolutely quiet. You can’t affect Yueyue’s study at home. Believe it or not, I will throw the TV.”
Father Su also really served Mother Su’s hot temper. He turned off the TV obediently, turned on the phone, and watched it on there. Many netizens on the Internet said that it was a pity that Su Xingchen gave up this All-China High League and he also agreed with it.
He was a person who cared very much about his children’s academic achievements. In the past, he didn’t get to study in a good school, but was admitted to a very ordinary school. It was a pity. He hoped that his children could make up for this regret for himself.
This was also the reason why when Su Xingchen’s academic performance was not good and she became a Shā mǎ tè, Father Su ignored her and paid more attention to Su Xingyue and Su Xingyang.
Both Su Xingyue and Su Xingyang were in honourable classes. They had the opportunity to enter universities such as 985 and 211, especially Su Xingyang, whose scores were in the top ten of the grade. He expected him to enter the top ten famous universities in the country.
(Project 985 is a constructive project for founding world-class universities in the 21st century conducted by the government of China. 212 is a project for the research institutions. It has a list of well known Universities.)
He thought about it. So he asked Su Xingyang to test for Z in their province.
He didn’t expect that his second daughter, who had been in a mess, a Shā mǎ tè for three years to progress. When she was in the second year of high school, he suddenly got news that she had won a second prize in the national competition. Even Su Xingyang didn’t get it, and was eliminated in the municipal competition. How could Father Su not be excited?
Su Xingchen won the national second prize in the second year of high school. If she worked harder this year, she may enter the winter camp, and the training team.
In Father Su’s view, this was simply a happy matter!
He sighed. She was so disobedient, so rebellious. For a little money, for the benefit of the moment, she gave up such a good opportunity, and went to acting.
Alas, his eyes were short-sighted.

Drenlith
Even most asians can say here Father Su has merely been giving out rough perfunctory advices that came from his own ideals and self interests. He’s never given her the money even after two semesters either, borrowing a sentence from the novel, when you don’t care about someone, you naturally wouldn’t notice the disparities they’re facing, regardless how close you are with each other.
I do love how much this novel emphasises on the crisis of gender inequalities the girls have to deal with from growing up to educational system to society.
Devi
@Drenlith I mostly agree with you. But, just a reminder about the school expenses… the “he’s never given her the money after two semesters either” wasn’t because he doesn’t want to. He’s just too entitled, blind, and deaf. He lacks compassion for women in general, even for the women in his own family.
So, whenever he wants to give her the money, it’s either too late or XC has already lose all of her expectations for him. And, who can blame her? They use her living expenses to blackmail her, and whenever they gave it, it felt like a charity to dismiss a beggar. She’s had enough of living such life until she’s graduated from HS in her first life.

Wow, he still thinks she’s just being rebellious? In fact, he still thinks he’s her father? This guy needs to wake up…

I’m starting to understand the depression and suicide rates in Asia. If my parents said or did anything the parents in this chapter did, I would probably get my name changed and move to another city…
