A Cynical Principle - Episode 1.1.4
Episode 1: Watchdog of the Dark City (Part 1.4)
“… is that so?”
Being young was a wonderful thing.
Partita was amused by the Lord’s reactions as she remained a few steps away from Univale.
It wasn’t that the Lord wasn’t young. Lord Rothschild, he died young and became a vampire. However, as a vampire, they had long lifespans.
Univale, the vampire, often devoted his time to things like “Legendary Sword Collecting” or “Legendary Alchemy Book Collecting”, but he was never seen nor heard to talk passionately about it in colors.
When a woman would lose her husband and was heartbroken, and a daughter of a good family who fell on the verge of life and death, they would receive blood instead of being put them in peace. (Univale said it was a deal)
However, it was cruel, and he was only shaking off the kindness to capture food. There was no love, not even a glimpse.
“I can feel that you’re a man who can meet well with Krusniks, those who hunt vampires. My wife is in a high position, so I think her security is strict. I am only a vampire in identity; if I go against him recklessly, I will only be killed. That’s why!
“Can you do it?”
Univale smiled thinly, sharp fangs showed up, “For what purpose do you think I still reside in this mansion that defends the gate to the Dark City? As far as I am concerned, it’s not a problem when it comes to those vampire slaying Krusniks.”
Overconfidence can be fatal, but this vampire was only saying the truth.
This beautiful, nasty vampire who never ceased to fascinate, was so strong that there was no need for questions and answers. So strong that the sun could not shine on his teeth.
Adversity was his honor, and superiority was his greatest self.
It was a strong and natural thing to do because it was willing to ignore physical scientific laws.
“Well, we’ll talk and decide on the future after you bring her in,” Univale took the glass of wine in his hand, then finished it bluntly.
For this gorgeous vampire, the importance of others was nothing but a distraction. But he stood at once with his fingers next to his face, and looked at Lord Rothschild, “I have not asked you the name of the man you’re sure of when he took your wife away.”
“Lord Savoa… Lord Camille de Savoa,” Lord Rothschild’s answer seemed to satisfy Univale well.
There must have been a name like that in his head. He affirmed his feet and said, “Lord Savoa… Okay, Lord Rothschild, I’ll give you a solution to the problem later, tomorrow night.”
“Is that true?”
“I’ll keep my word. It’s a little late, you can come around between the evening and the morning bell.”
“Thank you. Thank you!” The delight that burst out of Lord Rothschild was ridiculous.
“I don’t know how to thank you! What I’ve been worrying about now has been quickly solved! Great! It’s almost too good to be true!” He jerked on, “Why didn’t you come earlier? It was a vampire’s mansion, so I asked you to stop by, so I called you earlier!”
In the midst of a rainstorm of praise, Univale quickly left his seat and returned to his foolish library, but this overly impressed Lord Rothschild didn’t have any plans to leave.
He could not have been so cruel, for he was higher than the Lord, but Partita listened patiently, and this again, perhaps because of his youth or the wine, he was surprisingly talkative.
That was a lot of hard work for Partita, who was usually dealing with vampires who only turned out with silence or sarcasm.
Listening to other people’s loneliness and finding out how truly enjoyable a person can be.
Therefore, when the morning bell came, and the thing of the morning came into the world, the young Count returned to the Black Forest. She felt unusually good.
“Partita! Bring wine in the bedroom!” An innocent voice descended from the bedroom upstairs.
Without replying, Partita ran to the warehouse and seized as many bottles of wine she could hold in both hands, and then climbed up the stairs.
“I’ve kept you waiting,” She threw everything into the Lord’s room without notifying him about her arrival. The door blocked out the terrible loud sounds and curses.
“Working conditions must improve themselves.”
