The Daily Life Of Mei Furen Doting On Her Husband - Chapter 83
Mei Zhuyu closed his eyes for a moment, then looked at the little girl in Wu Chundao’s arms. She happened to turn over, and her thin summer jacket slipped up, revealing a white belly, like a little frog. Mei Zhuyu’s eyes gradually softened, and he lowered his head, whispering, “So that’s what happened.”
“So, are you the only one who knows her identity?”
Wu Chundao nodded, “Yes, my eldest daughter doesn’t know. If too many people knew about this, it wouldn’t be good for Zhen’er. But how did you find out? Did Zhen’er tell you?”
Mei Zhuyu shook his head, “No, I discovered it by accident.” He paused and added, “I’ve been able to see inhuman things since I was a child. I’ve practiced in a temple before and can be considered a Taoist Priest. I have some experience dealing with those evil monsters and spirits.”
Wu Chundao’s eyes lit up, and he looked at Mei Zhuyu with a newfound respect. After a moment, he smiled, patted Mei Zhuyu’s arm with one hand, and said with relief and joy, “Okay! Okay!”
Master Jingyan was right! Wu Chundao thought to himself. No wonder Master Jingyan made such comments—there was such a connection. It seems this son-in-law really can help my daughter overcome her tribulations! For a moment, Wu Chundao felt relieved, and the look he gave Mei Zhuyu became much more affectionate.
The next morning, when they were sent back, Wu Chundao personally handed his daughter to Mei Zhuyu, still with a look of relief on his face.
“Zhen’er is now in your hands. Please take good care of her,” Wu Chundao said seriously, looking at his still little daughter.
Mei Zhuyu held the little girl, his expression and tone as cautious and serious as they were on the day of the wedding banquet. “I will. No matter what happens, I will protect her.”
On the way back, the little girl was much quieter. Of course, that didn’t mean she was finally obedient—she was just drowsy all the way and eventually turned back into a kitten. Halfway through the journey, Mei Zhuyu felt his arms lighten, and a little cat fell onto the horse’s back. He immediately picked her up before she could roll off the horse.
Touching the kitten’s head, Mei Zhuyu realized she might be changing back to normal. The thought brought him some relief.
The usually ruthless Taoist Master Mei was not afraid of naughty children, but he couldn’t handle his wife when she had turned into one. He couldn’t bear to scold or punish her.
After returning home, Mei Zhuyu placed the cat under the quilt on the bed and sat on the bedside, lowering his head in deep thought. He looked at his fair and slender left hand. A pink scar in the middle slightly offset the palm lines—a mark left behind. He clenched his fist, suppressing all the emotions in his eyes.
It was midnight again. Mei Zhuyu sat on the bed, one hand on his forehead, having fallen asleep. The book in his hand had fallen to the ground. Suddenly, he woke up with a start, and when he opened his eyes, he saw the scattered book on the floor. He bent down to pick it up and put it aside. When he turned back, he was met with a pair of smiling eyes.
His wife had recovered and was lying on the bed, looking at him. With her head propped on one hand and a thin quilt covering her naked body, she looked very vivid and charming.
Mei Zhuyu paused, then showed a hint of joy, “Are you… okay?”
Wu Zhen suddenly pulled him onto the bed, skillfully turned around, and lay on top of him, pressing him down firmly.
“Why don’t you sleep on the bed? You can even fall asleep while sitting on the edge of the bed. You’re really something.” Wu Zhen scratched his chin.
Mei Zhuyu looked a little tired, but after seeing Wu Zhen recover, his eyes brightened, and Wu Zhen’s eyes also sparkled as she looked at him.
After a while, Mei Zhuyu awkwardly dodged to the side, holding her hand under the quilt, and advised her, “You’ve just recovered, and your previous injuries haven’t fully healed. For now, you shouldn’t…”
Wu Zhen openly ignored her husband’s “hypocrisy”, and with one hand on his chest, smiled at him brightly and ambiguously. Her soft spot was right under his eyes, and she squeezed it…
Not knowing where to look, Mei Zhuyu tried to stand up, but was pushed back down with a thud.
“No matter what, I just want it.” The shameless elder sister Wu Zhen had already reached out and opened her husband’s collar.
Mei Zhuyu: It seems that the little girl is still willful even after growing up.
So that night, the lady was still complaining about her husband’s strong hands.
As usual, Wu Zhen was awakened by the continuous sound of bells and drums in the morning. She rubbed her waist with one hand and suddenly noticed that her lover hadn’t gotten up yet. He was still in a daze, showing a little confusion as if he had just woken up.
Wu Zhen looked at him for a while, then rubbed his chin, turned his face towards her, and suddenly asked, “My dear, what do you think about me giving birth to a daughter for you?”
Mei Zhuyu was startled awake. After a moment, he asked, “Do you remember what happened yesterday?”
Wu Zhen was taken aback, her expression flawless. “Yesterday? What happened? I just remember that I was dizzy after you forced me to drink that nasty magic water, and I don’t remember anything else.”
Mei Zhuyu carefully observed her expression and didn’t notice any signs of deception. He thought she might really not remember what happened after she became smaller, so he said cautiously, “It’s hard to get pregnant, so let’s just let nature take its course.”
Wu Zhen suddenly burst into laughter, leaned over, gave him a big kiss on the cheek, and teased, “Did I scare you after I turned into a little girl~?”
Mei Zhuyu: …So you remember it.
Wu Zhen continued to smile, “I’m sorry, I was a bit troublesome when I was a child, and you had to bear the consequences. Please forgive me for the sake of my cuteness.”
Mei Zhuyu held her hand, which was pinching his chest under the quilt, and said helplessly, “Okay.”
 “Are you feeling better?”
Wu Zhen nodded casually, “Yes.”
Mei Zhuyu was still a little worried, so he touched her wrist with his backhand, examined it carefully, then let go and stuffed her arm back into the quilt. “You need to rest for a while.”
He sat up and put on his clothes. As he was about to get up, Wu Zhen grabbed the corner of his robe and said, “Hey, where are you going so early?”
Mei Zhuyu replied, “You should rest at home. I have to go back to the Ministry of Justice for duty today.”
Wu Zhen then showed a look of sudden realization, remembering that her husband should indeed go to work. She also thought about the time he had missed over the past few days and said soothingly, “It’s okay, you just missed work for a few days; it’s a small matter.”
Mei Zhuyu shook his head and said, “It doesn’t matter.”
It doesn’t matter. What exactly was going on? When Wu Zhen followed Mei Zhuyu out of the room to have breakfast, she finally understood what he meant. Sitting in the flower hall was a man who looked exactly like Mei Zhuyu. At first glance, they appeared to be twin brothers. Wu Zhen paused and took a closer look. Only then did she discover the flaw. She raised her eyebrows and asked curiously, “Is this Taoist Priest Shuangjiang?”
