Taoist Master and the Cat - Chapter 12
On the way, Su Miaomiao tilted her head and chatted with Xie Jingyuan, “Brother, do you know what animals are in the zoo?”
Xie Jingyuan didn’t want to talk about those meaningless topics.
Su Miaomiao thought he didn’t know, and told him, “Brother, there are no cats in the zoo. Mom said cats are too common.”
Xie Jingyuan gave her a sideways look.
Cats were ordinary, and cat demons were relatively easy to deal with. Fox demons, snake demons, and spider demons who cultivated in deep mountains and old forests were much more difficult, and their magic was also more ruthless.
Ignoring her dissatisfaction, Xie Jingyuan turned to look outside the car.
Su Miaomiao pouted.
Cats may be ordinary, but she, the snow-white cat, was not ordinary at all. She was much rarer than wolves and tigers!
With that in mind, when she arrived at the zoo, Su Miaomiao looked disgusted at all the animals she saw.
“Wow, this cat is so cute!”
A woman’s voice came from a distance, and Su Miaomiao’s heart moved. She instinctively thought that the other party was praising her. It wasn’t until she followed the voice that she realized that the woman was squatting on the side of the road, facing a green grassland. The tricolor feral cat, which only washed its face with its paws, got all sorts of “cute” admiration.
Seeing that her daughter seemed to be interested in the wild cat, Tang Shiwei led her over.
Grandma Tao also led Xie Jingyuan to follow.
Su Miaomiao looked at the wild cat from tail to head many times.
“Do you like cats?” Tang Shiwei squatted and asked her daughter.
Su Miaomiao said without thinking, “I like them.”
She was a cat, and of course she liked cats.
Tang Shiwei: “Do you want to raise a cat?”
Su Miaomiao finally realized what her mother meant, and quickly shook her head. She only liked one cat, and that was herself. She didn’t like other cats!
“It’s too ugly,” Su Miaomiao said to the wild cat with disgust.
The wild cat couldn’t understand Su Miaomiao’s words, but it vaguely felt the breath of the same kind, of a very powerful and hostile cat.
The wild cat looked at Su Miaomiao, then turned and ran away.
Su Miaomiao raised the corner of her lips triumphantly.
Xie Jingyuan thought that even if this zoo really raised a cat for people to see, Su Miaomiao did not think it showed a better status of cats, but stood in front of the cat cage and looked at the cat inside with a picky and disgusting look.
She was a domineering cat.
After the children’s birthdays, Xie Rong’s remarriage was in a few days.
Xie Rong was indeed very busy, and he was married once, so he didn’t hold a very lively second wedding. It was enough to invite all relatives and friends to the hotel for a meal.
Qiao Lili had a gentle personality, and she didn’t quarrel with him because of it. She listened to Xie Rong’s arrangements for everything.
At half past ten in the morning, Su Mingan and Tang Shiwei brought Su Miaomiao to the hotel.
She looked around and saw Xie Jingyuan from a distance. He was wearing a small black suit and was sitting beside Grandma Tao expressionlessly.
Su Miaomiao waved at him.
Xie Jingyuan saw her, but didn’t give any response.
Su Mingan was Xie Rong’s friend, and the banquet seats were outside the circle of relatives of the Xie family and the Qiao family, so Su Miaomiao had no chance to be closer to Xie Jingyuan.
A stage was set up in front of the banquet hall of the hotel, and the host began to preside over the wedding, introducing the process of Xie Rong and Qiao Lili getting to know each other and loving each other.
All that was very fresh and interesting in Su Miaomiao’s eyes. She obediently sat on the chair between her parents and watched with relish.
Soon, it was time for the groom to kiss the bride.
Su Miaomiao subconsciously looked at her parents. Her parents often kissed each other. After all, they were at home. She never thought that men and women in that world could hug in public. In her previous life, Su Miaomiao used the body of a cat to shuttle through the streets and alleys, but she had never seen such a scene. It was said that the brothel was very unscrupulous, and the men and women inside were of all different types.
Su Mingan and Tang Shiwei were very embarrassed, as their daughter’s eyes were fixed on the kiss.
“This wedding candy box is pretty,” Su Mingan cunningly stuffed the palm-sized gift box into his daughter’s hand.
Su Miaomiao forgot about the kiss.
After the banquet, the guests went back to their homes.
Su Miaomiao, who was full, took a comfortable nap. At five o’clock in the afternoon, Su Mingan and Tang Shiwei took their daughter to go grocery shopping.
Su Miaomiao sat on the baby stroller, dazzled by the abundant vegetables and fruits in the vegetable market.
There was also a flower stand, and Su Mingan bought a bouquet of red roses.
Su Miaomiao found a few bunches of apricot flowers, some branches were full of buds, and some branches had a few blooms, the fresh and tender petals were white and pink.
There was an apricot grove on the mountain behind Qingxu. Every spring, it would be full of apricot blossoms, which were very similar to those sold there.
“Mom, I want to buy that,” Su Miaomiao pointed to the bunch of apricot flowers that bloomed the most.
Compared with peonies and roses, the price of apricot flowers was very cheap. Of course Tang Shiwei bought them for her daughter.
The family of three returned home with a full load, and when they arrived at the door, Su Miaomiao held the bouquet of apricot flowers, stretched out her hand from her father’s arms, and wanted to ring the doorbell of 302.
Su Mingan pressed it for his daughter.
Grandma Tao came to open the door.
Sitting on the carpet in the living room, Xie Jingyuan heard Su Miaomiao’s sweet voice, “Grandma, is brother awake?”
“Yes, Miao Miao, did you come to play with your brother?”
“Yes.”
Su Mingan: “It’s time for dinner, we should come to see him after dinner, okay?”
Su Miaomiao: “I’ll just play with him for a while.”
Su Mingan had no choice but to let go of his daughter.
Su Miaomiao stepped on the white indoor shoes specially prepared for her by Grandma Tao, and came to Xie Jingyuan with apricot flowers in her arms.
Xie Jingyuan raised his head, and the first thing he saw was the bunch of apricot flowers.
“Taoist, don’t you think this flower looks like the apricot flower in Qingxu Temple?” Su Miaomiao sat down and asked in a low voice.
Xie Jingyuan’s gaze shifted from flowers to her fair and chubby face, paused, and nodded.
Su Miaomiao smiled, “I think so too, I’ll give it to you!”
Xie Jingyuan was stunned.
She was thinking about the delicacies her parents bought at the market, so she put down the flowers and ran away.
Grandma Tao saw them off and went back to the living room. Seeing her grandson staring at the flowers, she smiled, “See how much Miao Miao likes you. She gave you flowers. When you grow up, you need to take care of Miao Miao.”Â
Xie Jingyuan thought of the bouquets arranged at Xie Rong’s wedding that day.
They were all rare varieties, but they were not as pleasing to the eye as this bunch of apricot flowers that just bloomed.
