Chapter 7: Really want to kill her
Gu Yubai’s great grandfather was no ordinary person. He used to be the leader of bandits. Later, by fighting alongside the Eighth Route Army in war, he received a lot of credit. After the foundation of New China, he decided to start his own business.
In the next decade, due to historical turbulence, he moved his company to the United States. It grew bigger and bigger as the days went by.
After the reform and opening up of the economy, China saw a surge of development. There were many preferential policies in place at the time.
Foreign countries were not as friendly as his own, so he relocated the development of the company to China.
Qiao Ye being the sole heir inherited this business.
Gu Yubai’s grandfather, Gu Qidong, was the commander-in-chief of the S Military Region. He resisted US aid and the DPRK and had many achievements to his name. He loved the profession of a soldier and loved the military. He had not given up even in most difficult circumstances. He had two sons and two daughters. Gu Yubai’s father, Gu Shi, was the second son.
Gu Yubai’s father went to the United States to study and met his mother, Qiao Yan.
Gu Shi traveled abroad in his early years. After returning to China, he entered politics. In that way, he too had a smooth ride. With his ability, he took the position of the top leader of G City in his early fifties. G City was the most developed city when compared to the other municipalities in China. It was also thriving economically, contributing to an annual GDP that was equivalent to ten years of that of several major inland provinces.
However, Gu Yubai was not as interested in politics like his father. He was rebellious, unrestrained, and officialdom was not suitable for him. From the age of sixteen, he followed his grandfather to learn the basics of business. He was already the successor of the companies by default.
In all these years, Qiao Ye had given up his authoritative role in the company, handing it over to Gu Yubai. However, his grandson did not let him down. He expanded and transformed the company beyond his imagination.
Yet, this also made Gu Yubai more arrogant and unscrupulous. Because he was qualified, everything in the family belonged to him. Gu Yubai was also a very attractive man. He was smart and had a keen insight into things. He inherited the good genes from both of his parents.
His exquisite facial features and the pair of deep eyes made people want to drown in them. When he smiled, his eyes widened and a shallow dimple lingered on his cheeks making him look cute. This was the reason he didn’t like to smile.
Qin Yue stood aside holding a water bag and a towel, quietly waiting for him to finish. Gu Yubai was unlike other young people. When others were in a bad mood, they got drunk. When he was in a bad mood, he usually worked out to vent his anger.
